1971 Ford F100 Short Bed Pickup 351 Windsor 500 Hp Hot Rod on 2040-cars
Washington, District Of Columbia, United States
For sale is a 1971 Ford F100 short bed pickup truck. The truck has a rebuilt 351 windsor motor with less than 10,000 miles on it that gets 500 HP. It has a 5 speed manual transmission that shifts outstandingly well, the clutch is great and the truck shifts smoothly. The truck will start up every time on the first try, it has an electric choke and electric ignition system that fire up the car right away. It has a Ford 9 inch open rear with 3:73 gears. It is equipped with new disk brakes in the front and new drum brakes in the back. The car has lots of power and handles nice at all speeds with power steering. There are tons of new parts on the truck including a brand new 20 gallon gas tank. The magnaflow exhaust is brand new and custom built for this truck to come out the sides. It adds to it's great look and prevents the exhaust smell from circling back into the cab.
The interior of the truck is in good clean condition. It has aftermarket seats, shifter, and wheel. Refer to pictures, everything is pretty complete and in good condition. The paint of the truck looks great from a distance but has it's fair share of chips and scratches. The truck looks really great but is in "daily driver" condition as far as the paint goes. The truck has very minimal rust, the body and frame are in good shape. The bed of the truck would need to be replaced, currently there is just a plywood bed for functionality. All the gauges and switches work except for the gas gauge which needs to be hooked up. The wiring is all there it just needs to be assembled. The truck currently has aftermarket lights for brake lights and turn signals, refer to pictures. I have all the trim and rubber sealing for the truck which will be included with the purchase. This truck has a ton of potential and is really cool as it is. It has a ton of power and runs and drives exceptionally. It is ready to be a daily driver or great toy today, mechanically it needs nothing. If you are looking for a great looking, functional, and powerful truck this is the one for you. Feel free to ask any questions. Make me an offer. Thanks for looking. -Jim |

2015 Ford F-150 pricing announced, aluminum-bodied truck up just $395
Mon, 28 Jul 2014The eagerly anticipated Ford F-150 has had its 2015 pricing announced, adding only a small amount to the pickup's total cost, despite its weight-saving aluminum body. The XL and XLT entry level models only see a $395 boost over the heavier, current-generation, 2014 truck.
The XL starts at $26,615 while the XLT rings up at $31,890. The increase for Lariat is up a similarly negligible $895, to $39,880. Going up the ladder, meanwhile, the leather-intensive King Ranch sees the biggest jump of the F-150 family, with prices increasing $3,515, to $49,460. Finally, picking up the top-end Platinum trim will cost an extra $3,055, with prices starting at $52,155.
The higher prices are being blamed not only on the aluminum bodies, which trim up to 700 pounds of body fat, but on increased levels of standard equipment. While we were expecting a price hike, the fact that the 2015 F-150's volume trims - Ford spokesman Mike Levine told Reuters that the XL and XLT alone cover 70 percent of F-150 sales - have had less than a $400 increase is hugely impressive.
Mazda Turnpike in Japan shut down for racing
Mon, Dec 29 2014The people behind Motorhead Magazine in Japan clearly have some friends in high places. Not only did they manage to shutdown eight kilometers of the Mazda Turnpike up the Hakone mountain, but they invited some of the country's premiere racers to take a drive up the hill. This wasn't just a Sunday cruise either. Featuring a BMW Z4 from the Super GT series, a classic Ford GT40, two flavors of Nissan GT-R and two takes on the Subaru Impreza WRX STI, these guys came ready to run. When an opportunity to let racecars challenge a curvy mountain road presents itself, you don't squander it. Thankfully, the folks at Motorhead knew that and outfitted the course with a plethora of cameras and high-quality sound equipment to capture the action. The result is nothing short of sublime. Take the video's urging to turn up your speakers for this one, and watch as these racers hit ludicrous speeds in a beautiful place never meant for them.
