This is a clean west coast truck that has had everything mechanically gone through. I have driven the truck the last couple of years and it is a very reliable/fast truck that is happy hauling junk to the dump, or out for a Friday night at the drags. The ENG(460) was gone through and upgraded with the following; reground crank, CJ/Truck rods, Probe forged pistons, custom MECH flat tappet cam, Comp Cams EDM lifters, Trend P/Rods, DOVE casting cyl heads that have been professionally ported, 2.19INT vlvs and 1.75 EXH vlvs, Crower vlv springs, Titainium Retainers, Crower locks & lash caps, 3/8" guide plates, & PRW 1.8 roller rockers. The intake is a Ford Racing 'dual plane' Hi-Rise with a 850 Holley that has QFT Billet metering blocks. The Ignition starts with a curved Ford Duraspark dist, MSD coil, & MSD 6AL box. The headers are Hooker Super Comp leading into a 3" exh sysytem with Dynomax muffs. The trans is a C6 with the Ford Motorsport 'wide ratio' gear train, TCI valve body, ACC 10" torque converter, Ford Motorsport 'deep sump' trans pan,& a Hurst Quarter stick shifter. The driveline has been upgraded to a 3.5" custom built peice that uses "1350" style HD Spicer u-joints. The rearend housing is from a Lincoln Contenetial with 31spline axles, Moser "N" case, Motive "full spool",& 4.11 gears. The fuel system was upgraded by adding a 1/2" pick-up line into the tank, Carter Super Pump elec fuel pump, and 1/2" line up to the engine. The radiator is a 'direct fit' alum/plastic version with a Hayden custom mounted fan, and a LONG brand trans cooler. The truck runs cool! The brakes have all been completly gone through (11X3" front 11X3" rear), the steering is tight, the rear shocks are Rancho 9000 series adjustable peices, and the front tires were just recently changed out to Coker 'Pro Trac' competition versions. All in all this truck is a blast to drive and if desired someone could finish it off with a paint job and some minor cosmetic trim peices. The body is decent, some minor dents/dings, but no major damage. Unlike a lot of these trucks I have seen advertised on EBAY, this truck has ran  at the dragstrip not just estimates! I have timeslips to back it up. With Nitto DOT tires it has clicked off 13.20's, and with a pair of M/T slicks, 12.70's. These runs were acclomplished in FULL street trim(mufflers, timing, fuel, etc)! I hate to let the truck go, but other projects demand it. Any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks for looking...............

2017 North American Car, Truck, and Utility of the Year entries announced

Wed, Jul 6 2016

Over 40 vehicles will compete for the 2017 North American Car, Truck, and Utility of the Year awards. If that name looks a little strange, it's because the competition added a third category. In years past, pickup trucks, crossovers, SUVs, commercial vans, and minivans competed for the same award. That's why there were occasionally weird comparisons, like last year's competition between the Volvo XC90 and Nissan Titan XD. The new format separates pickups and commercial vans into the truck contest and CUVs, SUVs, and minivans into the utility competition. A complete list of eligible vehicles is below, but here are a few highlights. For one, the entire list of entries has a luxurious lean. Of the 43 vehicles, nearly half of them are from premium brands. There are two eligible Bentleys – the Bentayga and Mulsanne – the Rolls-Royce Dawn, Jaguar F-Pace, Audi Q7, and the Mercedes-Benz GLS-, E-, and S-Class Maybach. The performance ranks are lofty, too, with the Audi R8, Acura NSX, Alfa Romeo Giulia, Mercedes SL- and SLC-Class, Porsche 718, and F-150 Raptor. The mainstream entries are just as comprehensive. From the Chrysler Pacifica to the Chevrolet Cruze to the Fiat 124 Spider to the Mitsubishi Mirage, NACTOY has covered an enormous price range with this year's contestants. Of course, these are only the eligible vehicles. They'll need to run through three rounds of judging, starting in September at NACTOY's traditional Hell, MI, test drive. The Canadian and American journalists involved in the judging will announce this year's nine finalists – three in each category – on December 6. Ford C-Max Solar Energi takes a recharging station wherever it goes

Wed, 08 Jan 2014

Companies ranging in size from small startups to major automakers have been experimenting with solar-powered charging stations for EVs and plug-in hybrids. And, of course, people have been powering vehicles with onboard solar panels for quite some time, too. Still, Ford's new C-Max Solar Energi Concept shows the promise of a truly practical implementation of solar on a production vehicle, and it may not be as far off in the future as we had thought.
As we reported a few days ago, the Solar concept makes use of a "concentrator lens" that focuses sunlight onto the Ford's roof-mounted solar panels. The special lens follows the rays of the sun to maximize the amount of charge being fed to the batteries of the car, taking about a day to fully charge the 21-mile, all-electric range of the C-Max Energi. Ford data suggests that combination might be enough to power 75 percent of all trips made by a statistically average driver. In turn, using the sun to power a vehicle could reduce yearly C02 emissions by up to four metric tons when compared with the driver of an average gasoline-powered sedan.
We've got live images of the C-Max Solar Energi Concept, jauntily tilted on its display to best present it's signature solar panels, straight from the CES floor.

2014 Ford F-150 Tremor adds some sport to shake things up

Thu, 27 Jun 2013

Like most quakes, the 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor caught us by surprise. We weren't expecting Ford to offer up another version of its best-seller so soon before the truck's full redesign, but that's exactly what the company is doing.
While Ford calls the Tremor a "performance truck," the new pickup doesn't play on the same level as the SVT Raptor does on dirt, or even the long-gone SVT Lightning did on pavement. Think of it as a parts bin sport truck that probably does a better job looking the part than acting it. The Tremor utilizes the same twin-turbo, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 available across the F-150 lineup, producing 365 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, but matches it with a 4.10 rear axle - the shortest final drive ratio you can get in an F-150 - for the strongest possible acceleration.
The Tremor does do a decent job looking the part. Available only in short-wheelbase, regular cab configuration with your choice of two- or four-wheel drive, it struts around wearing the F-150's FX Appearance Package, flat black accents, 20-inch black wheels, HID headlights and a special exterior graphics package. The Tremor is the only regular cab F-150 with a flow-through center console, which means it also gets a floor-mounted shifter and bucket seats that are covered in black leather with red piping. Some brushed metal accents and steering wheel with red stitching round out the interior upgrades.
