1970 Ford F100 California Styleside Modernized on 2040-cars
San Diego, California, United States
Very clean 1970 Ford F100 Styleside. Built in San Jose in October of
1969 and sold new in Los Angeles. It has remained in southern
California ever since. Completely rust free body, not a single bubble.
Newer 302 V8 with a lot of power and it is very responsive. Modernized
with an upgraded 4 speed automatic transmission so it gets good mileage
on the highway, trans cooler, electric fuel pump, electronic ignition,
modern front end with power disc brakes, positraction rear end, new
suspension, dual batteries, dual electric cooling fans, electric start,
power locks, and a lot more. This truck is trusted to drive into the
desert and everywhere else. It has been driven a couple thousand miles in 2014 so far and it is ready for more.
Super straight body with clean quality 2 stage jet black paint. New carpet and headliner, all new window seals, and weatherstripping. New windshield, original blue license plates, clean California title in hand and current registration through September 2014. This is used regularly, just drove 40 miles the other day. It has power steering and a tow package. It has been used as a daily driver and it is ready for that. Runs very cool and has no smells of fuel, smoke, or anything you normally smell when you are driving an old vehicle. This feels like a newer truck all around and looks very clean up close. Starts right up and idles perfectly. Does not sound loud, the exhaust is quiet. No smoking or issues at all mechanically. True HID headlights. This F100 is ready for anything and ready to drive anywhere. I have another truck and I do not need this anymore. Low book on this truck is $8600 and high book is $19k so that is how I arrived at my price. I think $8500 is very fair considering the condition and the fact it has been modernized. I took many pictures on 5/16/14 and a walk around video to show it well. I also took a video of it driving on the highway the other day. All questions will be answered quickly and honestly. International bidders accepted. |

Evo grabs Ford's Fiesta R5 rally car by the scruff
Wed, 04 Sep 2013Evo and host Henry Catchpole were thinking of excuses reasons to borrow the bonkers Ford Fiesta R5 rally car for a day or two, when it struck them: the car is street legal. With access to the R5, some of the world's most beautiful driving roads in the English Lake Country nearby, and a handy video crewing hanging around, the plan seemed to write itself.
Based on the resulting video, it was a good plan. Without spoiling the video for you - something we can't really do in text as the best part is listening to the rally car run - Catchpole finds the Fiesta to be sublimely quick and massively satisfying. Even taking the car for a spin on a pseudo rally stage, after leaving the English countryside, does nothing but add to his assessment of the beastly little Ford. Scroll on below to see for yourself, and enjoy the ride.
Ford and 'Dirty Jobs' pitchman Mike Rowe part ways [w/videos]
Thu, 20 Feb 2014Former Dirty Jobs host Mike Rowe has one less job as of today - the pitchman is no longer a pitchman for Ford, with yesterday's announcement from Rowe ending a seven-year partnership between the TV host and the Blue Oval.
Rowe made the announcement to political pundit Glenn Beck, saying the two are "going in different directions" and wishing Ford "every possibly success that any car company could ever have," according to The Detroit News. Rowe and Ford got together in 2005, right around the time the 51-year-old came to prominence as the host of Dirty Jobs and the narrator for Deadliest Catch, two of the Discovery Channel's most popular shows.
Take a look below for a few video snippets of Rowe's tenure at Ford.
Toyota, Ford not interested in FCA merger
Mon, Jun 15 2015Sergio Marchionne will preach the benefits of mergers to anyone who'll listen, but his calls for industry consolidation may be falling on deaf ears. At least, that is, the ears of those who the Fiat Chrysler chief would most like to bend. Not only is General Motors uninterested, but according to The Detroit News, neither are Toyota or Ford. "It's something we would not be interested in," said Toyota's North American chief Jim Lentz, at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Toyota Technical Center. "At 10 million (vehicles) we have enough scale right now to do what we need to do. There really would be no advantage for us." Toyota isn't the only one unenthused by the prospect of merging with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The Detroit News also reports that Ford, though it may yet to have been approached by Marchionne, wouldn't be interested either. "We're not a suitor for FCA," said Ford CFO Bob Shanks. "We don't see that type of opportunity as one that applies to us." With GM, Toyota, and Ford expressing disinterest in Marchionne's merger idea, the FCA chief will likely start looking elsewhere – or look for other ways to compel his primary candidate to reconsider. He may eventually find a partner – more likely in the Far East or within Europe – but it may not take the form of the major player Sergio has hoped for.
