Perfect for a total restore or drive as is. This is an extremely solid truck inside and out and it's nearly impossible to find one like it for the money. It is from Arizona and has only been in Michigan for a few months. It is the hard to find 4X4 with a strong running 360 V8 and a manual four-on-the floor transmission. It is a bit baked from the desert sun, but its body, frame, and mechanics are very, very sound.  I've only had this truck for about a month.  My intention was to either resell or redo and I'm trying the resell first.  I've put about 100 miles on it since I purchased it and it seems to run out very well.  The odometer has about 52000 miles on it, but I have no way to verify this.  Truck is all original except for the wheels.

Exterior:  Body and Frame amazingly solid.  No rot.  As seen in the pictures there are spots where the sun blasted the paint off and there's a bit of surface rust in these areas.  Frame is solid with no scaling.  Driver mirror is not the original and is missing the glass. There are bolt holes in both doors where the mirrors were changed from the factory mirrors and then changed back.
All the molding, trim, and emblems are still on the truck (ranger emblem is missing in the grill).  They're all in good condition.  The grill has a bend in it as can be seen in the pictures.

Interior is in good shape except dash panel and arm rest vinyl are brittle and cracking. Steering wheel wrap is destroyed. Seat is worn, but no rips. The horn trim is present, but is missing a plastic tab and falls off. I took the carpet out to show floor boards, but I still have it and it's in fair shape.  All the gauges work except fuel gauge.  Truck had AC, but the pump has been removed.  Everything is there except the pump.

Drivetrain:  Engine starts and runs great. Transmission's a little tough to shift, but nothing out of the ordinary for the vintage.  Could probably use a clutch and through out bearing however.  4X4 works fine.  Lockouts and transfer case are in good working order.  There is a bit of squeak coming from one of the front u-joints.  Has duel exhaust that is not original. Tires are mismatched and a bit cracked, but in fair condition treadwise.

The front windshield has a handful of stone chips, but otherwise all glass is original and in good shape.

Please feel free to request more details, pics, or an appointment to come view the truck first hand.

Thanks for your time.

Ford F-150 King Ranch celebrates 'history and authenticity' for 2015 [w/video]

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

What's life like on an authentic Texas ranch? We honestly have no idea, having never lived on such a ranch, but we imagine it requires lots of hard work, grit and determination to keep all 825,000 acres - that's larger than the state of Rhode Island - of the King Ranch in Texas under control. Indeed, a total of 350 vehicles, all of which come from Ford, we're told, are currently in use by the ranch. No wonder, then, that the collaboration between Ford and King Ranch has lasted for 15 successful years.
For 2015, in celebration of that 15th anniversary, Ford is debuting three new King Ranch models today at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The most significant is the 2015 F-150 King Ranch, which, naturally, will add unique interior and exterior bits and pieces to the new aluminum-intensive F-Series pickup. Color choices will consist of Caribou, Bronze Fire, Guard and Ruby Red Metallic Clearcoat, with a range of two-tones to go along with a monochromatic scheme in Caribou. Inside, a bespoke King Ranch interior will be swathed in Premium Mesa Brown leather.
Joining the F-150 King Ranch on dealership floors later this year will be 2015 King Ranch editions of the Super Duty pickup and Expedition fullsize SUV, all of which will offer similar levels of content. Scroll down for more details and two videos from Ford, and be sure to check out the high-res image gallery above, which was shot by the official State Photographer of Texas, Wyman Meinzer.

2015 Ford Expedition stays the course, adds EcoBoost power

Tue, 18 Feb 2014

The era of the body-on-frame, fullsize SUV is rapidly vanishing in favor of smaller, unibody crossovers. However, Ford still sees life in the segment with the reveal of the updated 2015 Expedition, now available (solely) with the company's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. The new truck will make its public debut at the 2014 DFW Auto Show in Dallas on February 19.
The loss of the previous 5.4-liter V8 in favor of Ford's 3.5-liter, direct-injected, twin-turbocharged V6 engine might rankle some of the Expedition's fans, but Ford claims that the change gives the SUV better fuel economy, more power and increased low-end torque than before. Unfortunately, official engine specifications won't be released until later this year, but Ford says engine output will be similar to the 365 horsepower and 360 pound-feet of torque that this powerplant produces in other applications. The EcoBoost is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, and the SUV now uses electrically assisted power steering, for an even greater fuel economy advantage. Ford claims this also allows for better maneuverability at low speeds and better feel at high speeds.
Exterior styling is basically unchanged for 2015. The front end has the same three-bar chrome grille and headlight design, but the lower air dam gets added chrome and LED lamps. The rear gets more brightwork on the hatch, and there's a chrome-tipped exhaust pipe. As before, Ford is offering the Expedition in two wheelbase lengths - 119 inches and 131 inches. A new, optional, continuously controlled damping system alters suspension settings constantly based on 46 parameters and offers comfort, normal and sport modes (just like the Expedition's sister, the recently refreshed and decidedly less-attractive Lincoln Navigator).

How and why Ford is rolling out Vignale in Europe

Wed, 09 Oct 2013

We know that Ford is positioning the new, upscale Vignale brand in Europe to fill a niche market of customers who want a bit more luxury, a lot more service and the same reliability and dependability that a non-Vignale Ford offers. But so far, we've been in the dark regarding how the Blue Oval will sell Vignale vehicles, how many of them will be created, and what the new sub-brand has in store for the future.
Gaetano Thorel, Ford's European marketing head, recently was interviewed by Automotive News and shared details about Ford Vignale. Thorel says, "The Vignale trim line will be priced like an ST model but attract a completely different type of customer." Specifically, he says it will attract customers in the upper 15 percent of the price band who don't want a performance-oriented ST model. He adds that Vignale cars will be about 10 percent more expensive than Titanium-trim cars. About 500 of Ford's European dealers will sell Vignale Fords, Thorel says, "in areas that make sense." The automaker expects 10 percent of its European sales to be Vignale cars, which equates to about 5 percent of its global sales. When asked if there are any other Vignale models planned beyond the Mondeo, Thorel said, "There is nothing written in stone yet."
