SHORT BED
POWER STEERING Original 1968 Ford F100 in good condition. Truck shows 66,901 on odometer (I would say the body has 166,901 miles). It has a late model V-8 engine with an automatic transmission. Engine runs good, and transmission shifts well. The truck drives good and straight down the road. Body is in good shape - body panels are straight, only a few very small areas of rust spots. The only rust concern on this truck is in the drivers floor pan area and the one side of cab mounts. Good Chrome Grill!!! All Glass is in good shape!!
Truck has tilt steering and a cool 8 ball on steering wheel!!
BUY IT AND DRIVE IT LIKE IT IS, THIS TRUCK LOOKS GOOD LIKE IT IS. Truck was built at Michigan plant in June of 1968. This truck is an excellent candidate for a customized truck that needs little body work and little mechanical work (power steering whines just a little at idle). Please ask any questions for more information and if needed, more pictures. This is a 46 year old truck. It has very solid original sheet metal. The paint still has a decent shine to it, driver quality. Inspections are welcome, just give me a call or email! You must have 10 plus feedback to bid on this truck! Please contact me with any other questions or to make other arrangements. THE TRUCK BED NEEDS A LITTLE WORK,PRETTY DECENT SHAPE, SURFACE RUST WITH SOME HOLES AT THE REAR CROSSBRACE (SEE PHOTOS). New Ford Police Interceptor tech protects cops' backsides
Mon, 22 Jul 2013It was only a matter of time before law enforcement agencies would realize the potential of driver-assist technology for use in their Ford Police Interceptors, and, now that they have, those back-up cameras and radar systems won't be used just for parking, but for security, as well.
The surveillance mode system works when the camera or radar detects movement from behind the vehicle, and if it does when it's activated, an alarm will alert the officer inside the car, the driver's side window will roll up and the doors will lock, protecting the officer from an unwanted intrusion. The officer, of course, has the option to turn surveillance mode off, mainly in urban areas where pedestrians would constantly set the alarm off, and it can only be activated when the police car is in park.
Randy Freiburger, Ford's police and ambulance fleet supervisor, came up with the patent-pending idea when researching the needs of police officers and riding along with them, during which time he realized officers would be safer with an extra set of eyes watching the area behind their cars, especially at night or when they're completing paperwork, using the in-car computer or handling a radar gun. "Unfortunately, there are people with bad intentions who sneak up on police officers," he says.
Ford EcoBoost V6 hits the dyno before hitting the track
Wed, 02 Oct 2013Ford Racing just unveiled the Riley Daytona Prototype that will make its racing in the United SportsCar Racing Championship Rolex 24 at Daytona in January, and now it has released a video showing development of twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that powers the car. Using the same block and heads that can be found on a production Ford Taurus SHO, this new racecar benefits from the collaboration between Ford Racing and Ford powertrain engineers.
While we still don't know what kind of power this engine is putting out, it has definitely gotten a workout at Ford's 17G dyno. This area deep within Ford allows the automaker's racing program to work hand-in-hand with production engine programs, which can be a benefit to racing operations and production cars alike. Scroll down to hear a few people from Ford talk about the crosspollination between its racing and engine teams and watch the EcoBoost get red hot on the dyno.
Top Gear's latest trailer shows off a golden Bugatti Chiron
Thu, Feb 23 2017Top Gear is returning on March 5, and after a lackluster first series with the new hosts, the new group seems determined not to hit a sophomore slump. Chris Evans is gone, and the latest teaser trailer shows the new trio of Matt LeBlanc, Chris Harris, and Rory Reid strapped into some pretty fantastic cars, including the Bugatti Chiron and the Ford GT. All of the typical Top Gear segments appear to be present, though the quick cuts don't give us many details. The trailer shows a copious amount of powerslides from an assortment of cars, and even Chris Harris racing around Daytona. Aside from the Bugatti and Ford, cars from Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, BMW, Aston Martin, and Alfa Romeo are all present. Co-hosts Eddie Jordan and Sabine Schmitz don't appear at all, so it seems their roles may be downplayed to focus on three guys, as was the case pre-reboot. We have some hope for this re-relaunched show and will be keeping an eye out for more details in the lead-up to the series premiere.
