For sale is a very beautiful 1966 Ford F-100 half-ton truck. No expense has been spared here; this truck has had a complete frame off restoration, the restoration is about 7 years old. The finish is a base coat clear coat, and the color is Viper Red. Every part on this truck has been touched. The cab corners are solid, the front body mounts are solid as well. The whole cab of this truck, the frame, and the front inner fenders were bead blasted by Blast from the past in Lebanon, TN. The entire truck is clean, you could eat your lunch on the engine. The cab and the bed, were sprayed with a very durable undercoating by blast from the past as well. The doors and the floorboard are solid. The gas tank has been cleaned and relined. All in all this truck is wonderful. This truck is a three on the tree. The seat does have a very small tear, and there is a finish crack on the front top bed corner. There are pictures enclosed in the gallery of these two things. All new parts were ordered from Dennis Carpenter in North Carolina. Some of the parts on this truck were actually new old stock from Ford. There are some extra parts included which is a rebuilt carb, & a breather. Curtain officially comes down on Mercury as dealers remove signage

Mon, 03 Jan 2011

The process of shutting down the Mercury is complete. Ford officially made the decision to close its mid-level brand in June of 2010. In the months that followed, Ford offered its dealers money to stop selling the cars, with production shutting down in September. The last Mercury, a Mariner, rolled off the assembly line in the beginning of October and former spokesperson Jill Wagner said her good-byes to both the car and her job. Now the last piece of the brand has come down as dealers are removing any and all Mercury signage from their lots.

Mustang driver proves wheels are overrated

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

We don't need to tell you that there's something missing in the image above. What we do need to tell you is that this is not a picture of a parked car stranded on the highway. This is, rather, just one frame from video of that three-wheeled Mustang traveling down the highway at highway-appropriate speed.
We don't know where you'd have to be nor how badly you'd have to be there to go shooting down the freeway in a car with three wheels, but if the New Daily News is correct, that place is somewhere in Texas. The video's short, but you'll have plenty of time to shake your head at it by just scrolling down.

These horribly misguided front-drive design studies nearly became the Mustang

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

As we eagerly await the unveiling of the all-new sixth-generation Mustang, Ford has been giving us some great information over the past few months showing what has gone into shaping its venerable pony car. As many changes as the Mustang has gone through in its 50 years, though, it appears the fourth-gen model played a decisive and pivotal role in the car's future.
As is part of Mustang lore, the front-wheel drive Ford Probe was originally developed as a next-generation Mustang in the Eighties before cooler heads prevailed. The Blue Oval has just released a handful of images showing how bad things could have been - including a full-scale clay model of a front-wheel-drive Mustang (shown above). Fortunately, the FWD Mustang plan was scrapped and Ford went to work designing a rear-wheel-drive replacement for the Fox Body Mustang, with three design studies making it far enough to become full-scale models. These include the soft "Bruce Jenner" Mustang, the over-the-top "Rambo" Mustang and the middle-ground "Arnold Schwarzenegger" Mustang, which finally became the basis for the 1994 'Stang.
By early 1991, the design language of the fourth-generation Mustang had been worked out, and the rest, they say, is history. Scroll down for the fascinating press release telling the story of the fourth-gen Mustang, and be sure to check out the gallery of horribly misguided sketches and various design studies that were all on the table in the late 1980s.
