Relisting due to nonpaying bidder.  Do not bid if you don't have the cash to pay!  Any bids with zero or negative feedback will be deleted, unless bidder has contacted me.  I am listing this truck at NO RESERVE!!!  It needs to go!

1966 ford shortwide custom cab.  Iv been tinkering on this truck for a couple years now, off and on.  I wanted a truck that would be a nice fun driver.  One that I could drive and use without worry about dinging or scratching, but would still look nice and catch plenty of attention.  Its almost where I want it, but now I must sell it.

The body was sanded down and most of the dents fixed (still has a few small dings).  I had it painted inside and out by a local bodyshop here in tulsa.  Its is not a show quality paint job, but is very shinny and looks nice.  It could be color sanded and buffed and would look better, but keep in mind, I wanted a truck that i could drive without crying about rock chips and bird poo. The bed has been bedlined as well.  I had the wheels sandblasted and powder coated, and installed a nice set of hancook whitewall tires.  New carped was installed with the newly reupholstered seat.  I never got around to replacing the door window weatherstrips.  I had planned on doing that when I replaced the windshield (still needs replaced due to crack).

The truck has a 300ci 6 cyl motor and granny gear 4 speed trans.  I had planned on swaping the 6cyl out with a v8 but didnt get that far.  The 6cyl runs well but theres a growling sound while running.  Im not sure what it is, possibly a throwout bearing?  None the less, it runs fine and shifts through all the gears as it should.  Its just a little noisy.

Im sure there is more to tell about the little truck but Im drawing a blank.  The reserve is set at what I feel as a low price.  Ill be happy to answer any questions.  Good luck and hapy bidding.

Lincoln recycling tree fibers into new MKX armrest

Thu, Feb 27 2014

Want to hug a tree, or at least a really small part of one. Then set your arm down on one of those armrests in the 2014 Lincoln MKX crossover. The US automaker is working with Weyerhaeuser and Johnson Controls on a tree-based, cellulose-reinforced polypropylene material used in the component that connects the armrest to the floor console, Wards Auto says. With properties similar to plastic, the tree-based material replaces fiberglass and is about six percent lighter. No big deal for now, but if the material starts getting used for things like battery trays and interior storage covers, that loss in weight may eventually start adding up enough to boost fuel economy a bit, providing a green double bonus. Lincoln parent Ford, which isn't saying how much more (or less?) it costs to use the new material, established its Biomaterials and Plastics Research team in 2001. In 2007, the company began using soy-based foam in car seats used for models such as the Lincoln Navigator and Ford Mustang and has since broadened biomaterials use to components like floormats and cupholder inserts. Ford also used recycled plastic bottles from the 2012 North America International Auto Show for seats in the Focus Electric.

Jay Leno takes a Surfin' Safari in a 1937 Ford Woodie Restomod

Tue, 21 Oct 2014

Woodie wagons were a major part of surfing culture in the 1960s, offering coastal style and a ton of room, and they even earned a mention in the Beach Boys' classic song Surfin' Safari. This week, Jay Leno's Garage takes a look at two modern, restomodded examples of these style icons.
Unlike a lot of restomods, builder Scott Bonowski keeps these wagons looking almost completely stock on the outside, and all of the upgrades are hidden underneath the timber. You can't tell by looking at it, but the '37 Woodie (pictured above) has independent front and rear suspension, disc brakes and a Ford 5.0-liter V8 under the hood.
Beyond the mechanical aspect, the craftsmanship into the wood is astounding. Bonowski claims there are between 30 and 50 coats of varnish on this wagon. It makes these woodies as much of a piece of fine furniture as a vehicle to drive.

Entry-level F-150 now offers SuperCrew, Sport Package

Thu, 29 Aug 2013

Ford has made a few notable tweaks to the lower end of its F-150 lineup, giving customers a more affordable version of the four-door SuperCrew body style. The popular SuperCrew could previously only be had on XLT models and above, but Ford has announced that 2014 F-150s with the base STX trim can get the more versatile body.
The STX SuperCrew brings the price of a four-door F-150 down from $34,525 to $33,145. Like the XLT SuperCrew, the STX will be available with the choice of a 5.5- or 6.5-foot bed, while a 5.0-liter V8 can replace the base 3.7-liter V6 for $4,425. Ford has not released pricing on the different bed lengths yet, but opting for the 6.5-foot bed on the XLT raises the price $1,240 and forces buyers into the 5.0-liter V8. We'd expect a similar arrangement on the STX.
The other big news for fans of affordable pickups is the addition of an STX Sport Package on the base-level truck. It adds 20-inch wheels, black exterior accents, black-and-gray cloth seats and decals on the truck's box. The Sport Package is available on all three of the STX's body styles, with Ford listing the price as $980 with current discounts.
