1966 Ford F100 Pickup Truck on 2040-cars

This truck was painted about 10 years ago by the previous owner. He claims he replaced the engine with a rebuilt one about 20K miles ago. There are small scratches here and there but nothing big. Truck has been in Colorado and has almost no rust. The wood in the bed is original and could be continued to use as is. I have the truck insured with Hagerty for $12,000 replacement value. The heater is not hooked up right now but all the parts seem to be there. I would advise the new owner to replace the door insulation as it howls when you get the truck up to about 40 miles per hour. I would encourage anyone interested to come out and look it over and take a drive before making a bid. Call me at 720-427-6565 to set something up. It could use a tune up as it has a rough idle. I will try to fix this before the auction ends. As far as I know I am the third owner. The truck shows 59K miles but I do not know what the actual miles are. The truck has stored in a dry barn.
I have a reasonable "Buy it Now" price which will disappear when my reserve is reached. If you are interested the "Buy it Now" may be the least expensive way to buy this truck. |

Ford shows off V8-powered Ranger headed to Dakar Rally
Tue, 30 Jul 2013Avert your eyes now if you're jealous that the global version of the Ford Ranger is not offered in the US. Ford's midsize pickup is being tuned up to take on the 2014 Dakar Rally, and the result is a truck that is probably even cooler than any F-150 SVT Raptor we've ever seen in the States. Ford is actually building two versions of the truck for Dakar, which will run from January 5 through January 18, covering more than 5,000 miles from Argentina to Chile.
Starting with a fully composite body and a 5.0-liter V8 plucked from a Mustang, nearly every aspect of the trucks have been purpose built to take on the grueling race. This includes things like the six-speed sequential gearbox, liquid-cooled rear brakes and the 132-gallon fuel tank. As proof that Dakar is more about endurance than speed, the engines used in these race trucks will be limited to around 350 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, and will max out at a top speed of just 105 miles per hour. The 2015 Ford Mustang is assuredly the most anticipated new vehicle of the year. The redesigned Pony Car has been the subject of frantic gossiping and covert spy photos covering everything from the way it looks to the tech it will include, its performance, mechanicals and a bevy of other aspects of Ford's performance icon.
Ford posts record pre-tax Q3 profit of $2.6B
Thu, 24 Oct 2013Ford took in $2.6 billion in pre-tax profits in the third quarter of the year, making for a record trio of months that saw the Blue Oval's year-over-year earnings increase by $426 million. The earnings are being attributed not just to improvements in North American sales, but sales around the globe.
Revenue was up 12 percent, to $36 billion, although net income took a hit, dropping $359 million to $1.3 billion. Ford was dinged with $498 million in pre-tax charges, which are being blamed for the drop in net income.
The news has boosted Ford's hopes for full-year results, bumping it's total profits up past $8 billion, according to Automotive News. The Dearborn, MI-based manufacturer is still expecting a loss in Europe, although it's forecasted less than the $1.73 billion it burned in 2012. In fact, according to CFO Bob Shanks, Ford's European losses dropped by 51 percent year-over year, a huge improvement for the brand.
