1966 Ford F100 on 2040-cars
Largo, Florida, United States
This is a 1966 Ford F100 step side, There is too much to say about this truck in this small space but I will try. Lets start with the good, the frame has been fully boxed, 2002 crown victoria police front suspension, 1994 Lincoln mark 8 independent rear suspension, 1996 Ford mustang 4.6, T45 manual 5 speed transmission, brand new radiator core support, brand new American Autowire wiring harness not installed yet (cost $500), hydraulic clutch master and slave cylinder not installed yet, shortened steering column, hydroboost brake booster, auto meter tach, speedo, brand new fuel cell 15 gallon, brand new fuel pump and filters, 4.6 wiring harness has been striped down and labeled just needs to be finished being hooked up. Now for the bad or unfinished, all the brakes need to be gone through (needs lines, pads, possibly calipers), needs drive shaft fit to truck ( comes with one), has dents in every panel (some small some pretty big), has some rust in lower spots ( rear cab corners, small spots underneath, I fixed a lot of them already and I have a new panel for the left rear cab), has no bed floor and will need the wood kit, This was a desert truck from west texas so it does not have much rust except where dust settled in some of the lower spots and holes over the years, needs the front bumper and lower grill, tail gate is not that great. I have tried to list everything I can think of but there may be some more small problems or more new parts to come with it. With that being said this is a great truck project with most of the hard work being already done, the motor does start but does not have a cooling system hooked up so I can't run it long. Will be a great truck for a hot rod or leave the paint alone and have a rat rod, should handle great when done with 4 wheel independent suspension and disk brakes.

Ford of Europe celebrates Mondeo's 20th anniversary
Wed, 25 Sep 2013Ford's European operations are celebrating a milestone of sorts as the Mondeo, the Blue Oval's bread-and-butter D-segment sedan in the old country, celebrates its 20th anniversary. The mid-sizer, which was sold in the US for a short time as the Contour, has been a far more popular vehicle in Europe - even receiving regular praise from one Jeremy Clarkson.
Narrated by Cockney actor Ray Winstone, the video goes through the Mondeo's years and how it's evolved from 1993 to the as-yet-unreleased fifth-generation model, which is essentially the same as the Ford Fusion that's sold in America. Take a look below for the full video from Ford of Europe.
Ken Block walks you through his new 'Hoonigan Racing' HQ
Tue, 24 Jun 2014Ken Block seems like one hell of a nice guy. I ran into him at CES this past January, and he dropped the video games he was playing to chat with me for a while. His crew also recently gave our Steve Ewing a tour of the offices you're about to see on this video. Good guy to know.
As it turns out, they're some fairly cool new digs. Dubbed 'Hoonigan Racing Division HQ,' the office is open to Ford Focus ST and Fiesta ST owners who attend the driving program offered out at Miller Motorsports Park. The very same program that Ewing reported on just recently.
Or, if you've no plans to buy an ST or travel to Utah any time soon, you can let Block show you around himself in this MTV Cribs-style video. With interior decorating that relies heavily on shipping containers and luxurious amenities like a ping pong table, 10 refrigerators and a bear(?), there's no lack of eye-candy in the driverly HQ. (Judging by Block's outfit, you'll probably not go thirsty if you're a Monster drinker, either.) Take the tour along with the Gymkhana master, below.
Ford announces free brake pad offer if customers stop by dealers
Mon, 04 Aug 2014These days, when you buy a new car, it's not unreasonable to expect a certain period of free maintenance to come along as well. Sometimes this is through the life of the warranty, in other cases a little less. But Ford Motor Company is going beyond those deals for at least one part of its cars. As of now, if you buy a set of Motorcraft brake pads for a Ford, Lincoln or Mercury model, you get free replacements for as long as you own the vehicle. The offer is good at Ford or Lincoln dealers and Quick Lane Tire & Auto Centers.
"We will replace the pads for as long as you own the vehicle," said Elizabeth Weigandt to Autoblog. She did clarify that the Motorcraft pads are generally for models from the '90s or newer. Also, to take advantage of this program, a person must return to the same dealer each time to get the free parts.
Of course, Ford isn't just handing out brake pads to anyone who walks by; there are certain stipulations. First, the components have to be worn down to less than three millimeters to be eligible, and the buyer still has to pay for the labor to install them. If the model is used as a fleet vehicle for commercial purposes like as a taxi or limousine, this offer also doesn't apply; the same thing for racecars. On the plus side, if you recently bought a set of pads from one of the participating locations, you're still in luck. The deal covers parts purchased as of July 1.
