1966 Ford F100 4x4 restoration project! The truck runs, drives, starts, stops. The engine is a 390 v8, with manual tranny. It runs very strong, no smoke! The truck has the typical rust in the floors, lower fenders, and a couple spots inside the box. As you can see from the pictures it does have some dents and needs restored. It will need to be trailered. I would not take this on the road without bringing it into a shop and going through all the normal maintenance items and replacing whats needed as I went through it. Its a restoration project. It will need to be towed into town to where a semi can pick it up. This will cost about $125. A semi does not have enough room to turn around where its at. If you have questions please ask! It does have a blank clear title that I have never put in my name, so its ready for yours. The winning bidder must a place a non refundable depositof $500.00 via paypal after auction ends. Winner must pay for truck in full within 7 days of auction end. Ford Mustang was almost 'Imported from Detroit'
Wed, Oct 7 2015The Ford Mustang achieved iconic status nearly the moment the sheet came off at the 1964 World's Fair. And if Henry Ford II wasn't getting divorced around that time, the pony car might have been called the Torino and been marketed as 'Imported from Detroit,' according to Automotive News. We'll explain. During research for the new book Once in a Great City: A Detroit Story, author David Maraniss found an interesting connection between Chrysler's (now FCA US) slogan and the Ford Mustang. Before the pony car even had a name, the Blue Oval's advertising agency had the idea to market it as a "brand new import ... from Detroit," according to Automotive News. The vehicle would be sold as "inspired by Italy's great road cars, but straight from Detroit." The name Torino was suggested, as well. However, the real world interfered in making the Mustang Detroit's first import. According to the author, Henry Ford II was getting a divorce, and his future wife was Italian. It was therefore thought to be a bad idea to sell the future pony car as being from Italy. Things clearly changed by the time the Torino hit the streets years later. Related Video:
Ford F-150 pulls semi truck through snow-clogged Chicago streets
Wed, Feb 4 2015Earlier this week, the Midwest was crippled by a massive snowstorm that dumped a foot or more of powder in some areas. The result was, of course, transportation gridlock. It's a fortunate thing for this stranded semi-truck driver, then, that a Ford F-150 EcoBoost stumbled upon him. Despite a tow rating of just over 11,000 pounds, the four-wheel-drive, turbocharged pickup managed to dislodge the big rig from a snow-covered street. Of course, the Ford didn't get the semi moving all on its own – watch the video towards the end and the semi was quite clearly spinning its rear tires. Still, it's an impressive feat that we've little doubt F-Series fans are celebrating. Related video:
Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line
Wed, 05 Jan 2011The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.
