1965 F-100

Up for sale is my 65 Ford F100. It had a complete frame off restoration two years ago. The truck turned out absolutely great. Every nut, bolt, hose, bushing, etc. has been restored or replaced new. The engine bay looks just as good as the rest of the truck. The interior is beautiful with new door panels, sun visors, arm rests, carpet, seat cover etc. Some details are listed below:

Engine:

  • Factory 352 FE Big Block
  • Heads were machined
  • New timing set
  • New oil pump
  • All gaskets replaced

Transmission:

  • Replaced with a 4 speed manual trans out of an early 80's F-150
  • 3rd gear is direct. 4th is overdrive

Rear end:

  • Factory 9"
  • I think it has 3.54 gears

Body:

  • High quality restoration and paint job.
  • Roll pan on rear end rather than bumper.
  • Has a 1966 grill installed. I have a 1965 available.
  • Bottom of truck and under hood areas are just as nice and detailed as the rest of the body.
  • Two small chips on tailgate/bedrail.

The truck looks great, drives nice, and is a lot of fun to cruise around in. It could still use a few things that I haven't got to yet. Still needs wheels (unless you're into the black steelie look). Fuel sender in tank needs to be replaced. Temp sender on motor needs to be replaced. Carb could use a little tuning... seems to run rich. Nothing serious as I've driven it for two summers this way. Call or email with any other questions on it or let me know if you want any other pictures. You won't be disappointed. Jake 763-370-8998

Toyota, Ford and Honda again top Consumer Reports Car-Brand Perception Survey

Fri, 01 Feb 2013

Consumer Reports has released its annual Car-Brand Perception Survey, and the list looks awfully familiar. The top six brands are identical to last year's results, with Toyota, Ford and Honda continuing to occupy the podium. All told, Toyota walked away with 133 points, putting it 15 ahead of second-place Ford. Honda jumped 26 points this year, narrowing Ford's lead to just four points in total.
Consumer Reports polls buyers from across the country on how they see multiple brands in seven categories, including quality, safety, value, performance, design/style, technology/innovation and environmentally friendly/green. Researchers then combine the findings to come up with the total brand score.
While value and performance remain important to buyers, CR found quality and safety are still on top when it comes to significance. Scion and Mitsubishi found themselves at the bottom of the pack with the worst score of all, tied at just six points. Ram, Fiat and Mini filled out the lowest five with scores of seven, eight and 10 points, respectively. You can read the full press release below for more information, or head over to the Consumer Reports site.

Ford wins second consecutive International Van of the Year award with Transit Connect

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

The redesigned 2014 Ford Transit Connect isn't even on sale yet, but it's already making its presence felt around the world. At a commercial vehicle expo in Russia, the Transit Connect was named the International Van of the Year.
Ford's small work van edged out the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter by just seven points to allow Ford to grab this honor for the second consecutive year, which it won last year with the Transit Custom. Not only does this make Ford the first to ever win the award in back-to-back years, but it's also the fifth time the automaker has won this award since 2003 (two with the Transit Connect, two with the fullsize Transit and once with the Transit Custom). Ford congratulates itself for the accomplishment in a press release posted below.

Question of the Day: Most degraded car name?

Fri, May 27 2016

When Ford came up with a not-so-sporty version of the Pinto and slapped Mustang badges on it in 1974, that was a low point for the Mustang name. When Chrysler applied the venerable Town & Country name on perfectly functional but unglamorous minivans, it saddened many of us. But perhaps the biggest demotion for a once-proud model came when, in 1988, General Motors imported a misery-enhancing Daewoo from Korea and called it the Pontiac LeMans. The original Pontiac LeMans was a great-looking midsize car with fairly advanced (for the time) suspension design and engine options including potent V8s and a screaming overhead-cam straight-six. The Daewoo-based Pontiac LeMans was a cramped, shoddy hooptie that served only to ruin the LeMans name forever, while stealing sales from the Suzuki-based Chevrolet Sprint. Sure, using the once-respected Monterey name on the Mercurized Ford Freestar was bad, but Mercury didn't have long to live at that point. I say the downward spiral of the LeMans name was the most agonizing in automotive history. What do you think? Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
