1965 Ford F100 / F250 Long Bed Truck Rat Rod Slick Sixty A Real Sleeper

This is a project I have had for 11 years and I am just not able to get it finished- It deserves better. A diamond in the rough- make it yours.

It is a 1965 F100 converted to an F250 3/4 ton- a real truck not an F100! Truck has the Dana 60 rear end with limited slip differential and 4:11 gear. It was a camper special. Has the factory bucket seat option which is very rare. Never had any rust. It is painted close to original color with exception that I matted it out so it would not be shinny. Tires are big and OK but not new. The bed has been Rhino Lined then painted to match. The truck is in great condition. Has a new front windshield with new rubber. Has a new rubber in the rear window.

For the cool stuff:

  • Has a factory 427- 409 FE cast iron headers from a Fairlane.
  • I installed a TKO short OD (.83) five speed transmission.
  • Has a Ford big block FE 390 that runs OK- needs to be tuned up.
  • New Holley Street Avenger 4-Brl carburetor.
  • MSD 6A Ignition.
  • Radiator is only 3 years old.
  • Custom exhaust that crosses under truck - straight pipes- but not too loud-FUN sounding!

It is a great driving truck just needs to be finished. Stock height with stock suspension, it is a great start to go in a number of directions: Rat Rod, Sleeper, Original or RestoMod, whatever you want. That is probably why I could never get the project done- Which direction to go? I was going to use it to pull around a Shelby Cobra I had.

Good clean title- currently on CA Non-Operational status. I have lots of spares that all go with the sale: Dashes, Interior parts, new stuff, etc. The reserve is half what I have in it – so if you were ever serious about doing a Slick Sixty you will not go wrong with this.

Condition:

Truck is serviced and ready to drive it currently is not real comfortable but it will go anywhere.

I have the truck listed locally so I will reserve the right to pull auction if I get a bucket load of money. It is solid and has been a garage queen for five years and it deserves better. Good luck bidding!

NOTES: Understanding this is a large purchase I will offer this guarantee-If you are not happy with the car after an inspection and within seven days of auction end I will give you your money back-less fees, simple. I want you to be happy.

PAYMENT-TERMS: Ask questions no returns unless of course, I made a mistake or you believe I misrepresented the item. I am doing my best. If there is any written conflict between Ebay boiler plate and this unique description- this description will take precedence! Please, $500.00 PayPal deposit due at auctions end balance due within 7 days of auctions end via cash, wire transfer or certified cashiers check only. (I will need to allow CC to clear prior to pick up).

SHIPPING: No shipping, I will load on your truck and help out any way I can. If paid for it can stay here for a “Reasonable” amount of time.

FEEDBACK:  I am a real person not a dealer and have been a member since 1998. I have given bad feedback and received some as well. My feedback rating is important to me, but having a no hassle transaction is even more important.  If for any reason you don't feel you can leave me 5 star sellers rating in any category, please let me know before leaving feedback so I can try and resolve the issue.

Good Luck Bidding!

Ford updates Power Stroke diesel V8, strengthens F-450, tweaks King Ranch

Thu, 26 Sep 2013

Ford is giving its F-Series Super Duty trucks some upgrades for 2015, and we're happy to say that one of them is an improved Power Stroke diesel V8. Also, Ford is strengthening the top-of-the-line F-450 to handle more abuse. And if wild west-style luxury is your thing, the automaker has performed minor cosmetic updates to its King Ranch Edition trucks, as well.
The turbocharged 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 is currently rated at 400 horsepower and 800 pound-feet of torque, and Ford only tells us the new and improved Power Stroke can "produce power beyond today's" engine. What, then, did Ford actually improve upon? First, the Blue Oval swapped in a new, larger turbocharger. The new Garrett GT37 turbine unit is 72.5 millimeters in diameter, eclipsing the old GT32's 64-mm diameter piece. Ford states output increases with the new turbo setup, but since the new turbocharger operates at a lower peak pressure than the old one, the automaker was able to eliminate the wastegate system and reduce the engine's complexity. Ford even redesigned the turbo's oil and cooling lines to make the powerplant simpler. A byproduct of the larger turbo is better engine exhaust braking, which is controlled manually by a button on the dashboard.
Ford claims the upgraded diesel engine is more powerful, more robust, more efficient and more refined than before.

Ford Mustang was almost 'Imported from Detroit'

Wed, Oct 7 2015

The Ford Mustang achieved iconic status nearly the moment the sheet came off at the 1964 World's Fair. And if Henry Ford II wasn't getting divorced around that time, the pony car might have been called the Torino and been marketed as 'Imported from Detroit,' according to Automotive News. We'll explain. During research for the new book Once in a Great City: A Detroit Story, author David Maraniss found an interesting connection between Chrysler's (now FCA US) slogan and the Ford Mustang. Before the pony car even had a name, the Blue Oval's advertising agency had the idea to market it as a "brand new import ... from Detroit," according to Automotive News. The vehicle would be sold as "inspired by Italy's great road cars, but straight from Detroit." The name Torino was suggested, as well. However, the real world interfered in making the Mustang Detroit's first import. According to the author, Henry Ford II was getting a divorce, and his future wife was Italian. It was therefore thought to be a bad idea to sell the future pony car as being from Italy. Things clearly changed by the time the Torino hit the streets years later. Related Video:

Mulally to stay at Ford through end of 2014 at least

Fri, 06 Dec 2013

Alan Mulally isn't going anywhere... at least not just yet. The CEO who helped turn around Ford Motor Company has been linked to the top job at tech behemoth Microsoft, leading to a flurry of rumors about potential successors. Those rumors, though, may have just been put to rest - at least for a little while.
Speaking to Edsel Ford II (great-grandson of company founder Henry Ford) at the unveiling of the new Mustang, Automotive News Europe confirmed that Mulally would stick around until the end of next year. "Alan is staying through the end of 2014 and that's all I know," said Ford. "Frankly, he has told us that his plan is to stay with Ford through the end of 2014."
Presuming that Edsel Ford is correct and that Microsoft isn't so hot on Mulally that it saves the position for him, it seems increasingly likely that the 68-year-old exec is more interested in continuing to work in Dearborn rather than in Redmond.
