1962 Ford F100 Unibody:

Great Unibody Ford truck for sale. Older restoration and shows extremely well. To my knowledge this has been a California truck all of its life and it has never left the state. Zero rust with straight body, floors, and bed.  Lights, turn signals, horn, fuel gauge, temp gauge, oil and generator lights all function.  The only thing not currently working is the speedometer. It just went out and needs the gear drive replaced.  This truck starts, stops, runs, drives, and handles very well. The original 292 Y-Block V8 motor was rebuilt 5 years ago with very minimal miles since. This motor was the highest HP option available in 1962. The "3 On The Tree" shifter  was relocated to the floor prior to my ownership. It is a 4-Speed but really a 3-Speed with an extra Granny Gear in the 1st position that is extremely low.

Nice chrome rims with new tires all the way around.  Detachable CD stereo system with 2 speakers under seat. Great looking interior with a comfortable leather bench seat. All emblems are present and original. Extremely CLEAN truck that gets tons of attention and compliments. This classic truck will make the lucky new owner very proud!

This truck has mainly been used for photo shoots and local car shows over the past 5 years. Stored in a dry, private Southern California garage.  This truck has a clean title in my name and is licensed and registered through February 2015.
This is not a $20K Show Truck, nor priced as one. There are some imperfections, mainly at the bottom of the tailgate where there are some minor cracks in the paint. The rest of the entire truck presents very well. Overall, this truck is in outstanding condition and an excellent 52 year old vehicle.

Tier 1 suppliers call GM the worst OEM to work with

Mon, 12 May 2014

Among automakers with a big US presence, General Motors is the worst to work for, according to a new survey from Tier 1 automotive suppliers, conducted by Planning Perspectives, Inc.
The Detroit-based manufacturer, which has been under fire following the ignition switch recall and its accompanying scandal, finished behind six other automakers with big US manufacturing operations. Suppliers had issues with trust and communications, as well as intellectual property protection. GM was also the least likely to allow suppliers to raise their prices in the face of unexpected increases in material cost, all of which contributed to 55 percent of suppliers saying their relationship with GM was "poor to very poor."
GM's cross-town competitors didn't fare much better. Chrysler finished in fifth place, ahead of GM and behind Dearborn-based Ford, which was passed for third place this year by Nissan. Toyota took the top marks, while Honda captured second place.

Enterprise working with renter's insurance to cover $47k Mustang stolen from its lot

Sat, 11 Jan 2014

There was more than a bit of public indigence following the recent story of Enterprise Rent-A-Car billing a customer $47,000 to replace a Ford Mustang GT Convertible stolen from a Nova Scotia lot. To recap: Kristen Cockerill rented the Mustang for two days, returned it to the lot on a Sunday and left the keys in a secure dropbox only for Enterprise employees to find the car gone the next day.
Despite Enterprise policies stating that customers are responsible for vehicles dropped on off-days, the company has admitted that the situation could've been handled a bit better.
In a recent statement, Enterprise has backed off the big-bill story, and claims to be working with Cockerill and her insurance company to resolve the issue. Further, the Enterprise general manager overseeing Nova Scotia has spoken with the harried renter, and apologized "for the way this claim was handled during the last few months."

Ford shows off V8-powered Ranger headed to Dakar Rally

Tue, 30 Jul 2013

Avert your eyes now if you're jealous that the global version of the Ford Ranger is not offered in the US. Ford's midsize pickup is being tuned up to take on the 2014 Dakar Rally, and the result is a truck that is probably even cooler than any F-150 SVT Raptor we've ever seen in the States. Ford is actually building two versions of the truck for Dakar, which will run from January 5 through January 18, covering more than 5,000 miles from Argentina to Chile.
Starting with a fully composite body and a 5.0-liter V8 plucked from a Mustang, nearly every aspect of the trucks have been purpose built to take on the grueling race. This includes things like the six-speed sequential gearbox, liquid-cooled rear brakes and the 132-gallon fuel tank. As proof that Dakar is more about endurance than speed, the engines used in these race trucks will be limited to around 350 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, and will max out at a top speed of just 105 miles per hour. Scroll down for Ford's official press release offering more information about the trucks and teams being prepped for Dakar.
