1960 Ford F100 Short Bed,patina, Big Back Window, Shop Truck, Hot Rod, Rat Rod. on 2040-cars
Hamilton, Ohio, United States
Up for sale is my 1960 Ford F100 that was never going to be for sale but here it is. RUNS-DRIVE-STOPS!! GETS TONS OF ATTENTION. This truck is beautiful is so many ways. Its a short bed "Big Back Window" Custom cab truck that fires right up without fail. It currently has a 6 cyl. motor from what I think is a Ford Maverick. Runs good as is but the plan was to upgrade at a later date. C4 automatic transmission with Lokar shifter. New steering wheel, and the bench seat is in great shape. The floor has two areas that will need patched but that's about it . Has new shocks, but needs new leaf springs, the stock springs are a bit old. It also has a new dual exhaust and sounds great. Dash lights work as do the head lights, brake lights, and wipers. Gauges aren't working at this time. Beautiful patina, with Duke City Garage logos and writing. (looks to have been done a while ago but not real from what we can tell.) The patina has not been cleared over, the shine in the photos is rain. Any questions are welcome. If you plan on buying this truck with plans on doing body work, & painting it its not for you. Id rather you not bid. Plenty of other trucks out there to restore. I have three more here in fact, and will be up for sale soon. Thanks & Happy Bidding!! Truck is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction early.

Ford to build next F-150, outgoing model concurrently?
Wed, 24 Jul 2013Ford is rumored to be considering concurrent production for old and new F-150 models in a bid to minimize supply chain disruptions and inventory. Automotive News is reporting that the Blue Oval will build both the current F-150 and its replacement, which we showed you testing just last month, side by side for about half a year before switching over entirely to next-generation production.
As IHS Automotive analyst Mike Jackson told AN, "In order to ramp up, you have to retool...and that means you have to take capacity offline." Building both models alongside could allow Ford to cope with the still strong demand for the current F-150, while populating dealer supplies and working out supply chain kinks for the new model before making a full-time switch.
A loss of capacity when demand is so strong, even for a short period, could spell bad news for Ford, which nets an estimated 90 percent of its global profit on pickups and large SUVs. As AN states, Ford produces the F-150 in both Kansas City, Missouri and Dearborn, Michigan, which allows it to maintain some degree of flexibility in production. The new F-150 is expected to arrive at the 2014 North American International Auto Show as a 2015 model, with a design inspired by the Atlas Concept first shown at the Detroit Auto Show last January.
Consumer Reports says these are the worst new cars of 2014
Thu, 27 Feb 2014Consumer Reports has announced its annual list of worst vehicles, a cringe-inducing contrast to its list of top vehicles. Ignominiously leading the way in 2014 is Chrysler, which has a staggering seven models listed.
Jeep nearly sweeps the small SUV segment by itself, with its Compass, Patriot and 2.4-liter version of the new Cherokee, while the only midsize sedans listed by CR were the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. The new Dodge Dart and the Dodge Journey round out CR's condemnation of Chrysler.
Ford is taking heat as well, with the Taurus, Edge and their counterparts from Lincoln all listed as the worst vehicles in their respective segments. Toyota doesn't fare much better, with its Lexus IS, Scion iQ and tC also making the list.
NHTSA and Ford investigating steering issues in Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Marauder
Fri, 11 Jul 2014There may be more steering woes for the Ford Crown Victoria. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a preliminary evaluation into the Crown Vic and Mercury Grand Marquis from the 2004 to 2007 model years and the Mercury Marauder for the 2004 and 2005 model years because the steering shaft can jam. The issue could potentially affect an estimated 500,000 vehicles.
According to the regulator, there is a possibility that the driver's side heat shield for the exhaust manifold can rust, dislodge, and then wedge into the steering shaft. If this occurs, it leads to a situation where the driver can no longer control the car.
NHTSA has received five complaints of this happening, including one alleged case with an injury. In that situation, the car was driving onto the highway, lost control and rolled over. One occupant was hurt in the accident.
