1960 Ford F-100 Pickup Truck Big Window Custom Cab With A Short-wide Box on 2040-cars
Meridian, Idaho, United States
You are looking at a very nice old
1960 Ford F-100 pickup truck. This truck is extra rare because it is a big
window custom cab with a short-wide box. The engine is a later model 302 V8
with a C-6 transmission and a stock 9 inch Ford rear end and dual exhaust. We just rebuilt the carburetor and changed
the oil and the motor runs excellent. The transmission shifts good. Brakes work
good, we recently replaced the master cylinder, and it also has a later model
brake booster. We also installed a new pinion seal in the rear end. The steering box feels loose and
the old white wall bias ply tires are getting worn out. The back window is
excellent with all the chrome trim. The side door glass needs replaced, but it
is all there. The front windshield has a
couple of stars. The front chrome grill is nice, and the bumper is good. All the lights work, the wipers try
to work. The taillights are all original. The heater works, a couple of the
gauges don’t work. The seat is newly upholstered. It appears that this truck was red
and white when it was new. The body is in excellent condition, the bed is very
nice. Everything looks good underneath. The doors both open and close and hang
nicely on the frame, no sagging. I would say this truck is 98% rust free, I
only see a couple of small spots underneath, by the mounts. The hood and roof
are in excellent shape. This truck would
make an excellent candidate for a restoration, or drive it around as is. Throw
on a new set of tires and check out the steering box, and this truck could be a
daily driver! These little short-wide box pickups are getting very popular. We
have the reserve set at a good market price so have fun bidding! Call Jack for

Ford ST Octane Academy [w/video]
Wed, 04 Jun 2014
The ST school is about more than just handbrake turns, hot laps, and sliding into parking spaces.
I felt like such a rock star. On my second pass around the UrbanCross course (read: fancy autocross) at the Ford ST Octane Academy, I absolutely nailed the exit, sliding the bright-yellow Focus ST sideways into a box the size of a parking space, all four wheels in line.
Ford abandons MyFord Touch, all hail Sync 3 infotainment [w/video]
Thu, Dec 11 2014MyFord Touch has been among the most widely disdained automotive infotainment systems on the market, practically since its introduction in 2010. Consumer Reports was among the most vocal critics, all but advocating its lynching by an angry mob armed with torches and pitchforks. Not surprisingly, then, after such a critical walloping, Ford has finally decided to say goodbye to the unloved tech, declaring the end of MyFord Touch branding in favor of Sync 3 for its upcoming, all-new system. Ford is promising everything you would expect from Sync 3, including faster response time, better voice-command integration, easier controls and a more useable interface. The screen layout includes fewer items to make them easier to discern, and the icons are made from large, high-contrast buttons. There's also a dedicated tab for apps at the bottom of the screen in addition to those for audio, climate, phone and navigation. Another useful feature is the fact that Sync 3 can download improvements over your home Wi-Fi for easier updates. In addition to the revamped interface, the software running behind the scenes is a big change too. Rather than MyFord Touch's Microsoft-sourced system, Sync 3 uses the Blackberry-owned QNX, according to Automotive News. Such a switch was rumored earlier this year. Drivers still have to live with MyFord Touch a little longer, though. According to Automotive News, Ford said that the change to Sync 3 will happen during the 2016 model year with complete integration into the lineup by the end of the 2016 calendar year. It will come standard on Titanium trim models and as a separate option will be priced in line with the current MyFord Touch. The Sync 3 brand will carry over to Lincoln, too, but with a different look. The gallery above shows a few more looks at the interface, and we invite you to scroll down to watch a video of Sync 3 in action and to read Ford's press release about it, below. As US exports top 2 million, is America becoming the world's source of cheap cars?
Mon, Feb 9 2015North American auto production is booming with 2014 figures just shy of the of the 17.3-million vehicle record set in 2000. With more models being built on the continent, even more are being shipped overseas. Factories in the US exported 2.1 million cars last year – the highest number ever. About half of those went to Canada and Mexico, but more than ever have been heading to places like the Middle East and China. The upswing comes in part from from after-effects from the Great Recession, according to The Wall Street Journal. With a weak dollar and lower production costs after the financial crisis, building vehicles in the US was relatively cheaper and more competitive in the world. At the same time buyers around the world are going crazy for crossovers. According to the WSJ, BMW and Mercedes-Benz are already exporting the majority of their US production of these models overseas. Both automakers have also announced investments to expand production further here to send more vehicles abroad. Even Honda has been shipping more models out of the country than it imported here. There is a concern this international strength could start slowing because the dollar is strengthening against other currencies, though it's too early to know what the actual effect of this could be, according to the WSJ. "Of course, we closely watch currency exchange, but we don't make changes in production or allocation based on temporary fluctuations in the exchange rate," Ford North American boss Joe Hinrichs told the newspaper.
