1959 Ford F100 Shop Truck / Rat Rod 5.0 With Air Bags on 2040-cars

This is a great shop truck or rat rod. Most of the hard work has been done and runs and drives. It has a 4 link in the rear with 2500 air bags and also has a front subframe from a late GM full size car with 2500 air bags. The front has air contraol for right and left and a single air control for the rear suspension. It has a late 80's 5.0 and a c-4 3 speed automatic transmission and the rear end is a 9" Ford unit. It has power disc brakes on the from and non-functioning drums on the rear. It also has power streering using a GM box that came on the sub-frame. Tires are 16" front and rear. The Indian logo are just decals and can be removed. The paint is just what you see, pretty and rough at the same time. Delivery is availabe for $1.50 per loaded mile from the Charlotte area. 2015 Ford F-150 configurator is ready to go to work
Thu, 25 Sep 2014Ford is inching towards the on-sale date for the eagerly anticipated, aluminum F-150 pickup. While we're preparing to drive the new truck (expect our take on it sooner rather than later), the best-seller has reached another, albeit more minor, milestone as its online configurator has officially been switched on.
We took to Ford's consumer website to mess about with it and see just how ridiculous of a truck we can build. Among the fun things we discovered were these two nuggets - the most expensive truck we could configure was not the top-end Platinum model, but instead the King Ranch, which rang up at $65,955. The other exciting discovery? The new truck would be available in a questionable shade called Blue Jeans (shown above with the optional contrasting Caribou paint). Yep, Blue Jeans.

Toyota, Ford decide to end hybrid collaboration before it starts
Tue, 23 Jul 2013Not all so-called Memorandum of Understanding pacts end in actual collaborations. For instance, after a two-year "feasibility study," Toyota and Ford have just announced that they will not be developing hybrid systems for use in light trucks and SUVs as previously planned, and the two automakers will instead continue to develop their own hybrid technology independently.
The would-be collaboration was first announced in August of 2011, and would have seen a rear-wheel-drive hybrid platform that would "improve the efficiency of trucks and SUVs while still allowing them to be driven in the way customers expect," according to our initial post on the topic.
Keep in mind that this announcement isn't to say we shouldn't expect hybrid pickups and SUVs from the two automakers, but that they probably aren't coming very soon - Ford says it will have a system "before the end of this decade" and we haven't heard much from Toyota on the hybrid truck front since the 2008 A-BAT Concept (pictured above) - and that they will not share any components between them (and they never have, for what it's worth).
