Cedar Park, Texas, United States

  • 1959 Ford F100 4x4 Long Bed 1/2 ton truck.
  • It was painted flat black or primer.
  • Windshield is perfect.
  • 223 inline 6 cylinder with headers and 4 barrel carb.  4 speed manual transmission.
  • Has rust along bottom of drivers door.  Both cab steps are rusted.  Frame is solid. Bed has rust at front of bed and rear by the tailgate.  Tailgate is solid with a little rust along the bottom but no rot.
  • I do not have the front drive shaft.
  • New battery and BF Goodrich AT's 32/11.50x15's with no miles on them.  Truck runs ok.
  • Brakes need complete overhaul (I've alreay put new wheel cylinders, drums and brakes on the rear).  Need to replace the hard brake lines.  I have everything to do the job.  You'll basically get nearly everything for a solid renovation (not restoration as some parts are not perfect). Here is a list of items I have that go with the truck:
  •  2 sets of headlights, buckets and trim.
  • Used chrome grill (will need to be re-chromed).
  • Drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, bearings and seals for the front end (rear has been completed).
  • Complete door window anti rattle kit for both sides.
  • Door seals
  • NOS door handle.
  • F O R D letters for the front of the hood.
  • Custom Cab emblem for driver's door
  • F100 hood emblems
  • Rear view mirror
  • 1 NOS rear tailight assembly and two lenses
  • 2 new front turn signal assemblies
  • Complete hard brake line replacements front to rear
  • Other miscellaneous parts

Truck will need to be shipped.  It runs and drives but only the left rear brake is working so stopping is another issue.  I've found another project and it's already on the way so this one needs to go.  Decided I just didn't have the space for such a big project and wanted a project I could drive while working on it.  This one needs quite a bit to get to that level.  Starting price is about what the new tires and battery cost me with NO RESERVE.  Shipping at buyer's expense.  I cannot bring anywhere, it will have to be loaded at my home in Cedar Park, TX.  I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time due to truck being for sale locally.  This sale is "as is" with no warranties expressed or implied.

Thanks for looking.

Consumer Reports says these are the worst new cars of 2014

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

Consumer Reports has announced its annual list of worst vehicles, a cringe-inducing contrast to its list of top vehicles. Ignominiously leading the way in 2014 is Chrysler, which has a staggering seven models listed.
Jeep nearly sweeps the small SUV segment by itself, with its Compass, Patriot and 2.4-liter version of the new Cherokee, while the only midsize sedans listed by CR were the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. The new Dodge Dart and the Dodge Journey round out CR's condemnation of Chrysler.
Ford is taking heat as well, with the Taurus, Edge and their counterparts from Lincoln all listed as the worst vehicles in their respective segments. Toyota doesn't fare much better, with its Lexus IS, Scion iQ and tC also making the list.

Yearly auto recall record demolished in 6 months

Tue, Jul 1 2014

With nearly 40 million vehicles under repair campaigns and counting, 2014 will almost certainly go down as the year of the automotive recall. At just past the halfway mark, we are already at record levels, and there aren't any signs that the epidemic is slowing. General Motors' latest 8.4 million vehicle recall in the US puts the industry over the top for the title of the most cars with fixes pending from automakers ever. That's a prize no one ever wants to receive. According to TheDetroitBureau.com, the US recall total has hit 39.85-million vehicles to surpass the previous record of 33.01 million in 2004. Perhaps more surprising, with over 26 million repairs pending, it's still quite possibly that GM could recall more vehicles by the end of the year than the 27.96-million unit total of the entire US auto industry last year. With over 40 campaigns under its belt in 2014, the roughly one million cars it would take would hardly come as a surprise at this point, especially with increased government scrutiny into the Detroit automaker's processes. The pace of recalls started off relatively normal this year, with just a smattering of campaigns. The most surprising early on was Aston Martin calling in about 75 percent of its output since 2007 due to counterfeit plastic, but with just a few thousand cars, it was relatively tiny in pure numbers. GM really kicked things off soon after, but we didn't know it at the time. It issued its first bulletin for 778,000 Cobalt compacts in early February. Things only ballooned from there as more models were added to its growing ignition switch problem. The onslaught of announcements from every major automaker hasn't abated since then. Some industry executives are trying to put a positive spin on the situation. "With what's transpired (in recent months), there's a higher level of scrutiny," said Joe Hinrichs, Ford president of the Americas, to TheDetroitBureau.com. He believes that automakers are looking at data much more thoroughly than before, and it means better customer safety. Still, many consumers probably wish these problems had been found before their car went on sale.

Cadillac Escalade gets $5,000 discount to ward off Lincoln Navigator

Wed, Nov 8 2017

General Motors apparently isn't going to let early good reception for the redesigned Lincoln Navigator steal thunder from its own luxury SUV without a fight. It's offering a $5,000 discount on the purchase or lease of the Cadillac Escalade this month to any buyer who trades in a 1999 or newer Lincoln model, Bloomberg reports. GM spokesman Jim Cain told Bloomberg the incentive is being offered to keep prices competitive for the Escalade. The 2018 Navigator starts at $72,055, compared to $73,995 for the Escalade, but the outgoing version of the Navigator is selling for an average of around $53,000, compared with more than $80,000 on average for the Escalade, he said. The Escalade was the top-selling domestic luxury SUV in October and No. 4 in the segment, according to Motor Intelligence. It far outsold the Navigator, which last saw a refresh in 2015 and a full redesign in 2007. But Ford is hoping to gain back some ground with the new Navigator and updated Expedition, which also trails the Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevy Suburban in its segment. Bloomberg notes that one Morgan Stanley analyst estimates that GM owns a $2 billion annual pretax profit edge in the lucrative luxury sport utility segment. Our recent First Drive review called the new Navigator "far superior to its primary competitor, the Cadillac Escalade."Related Video:
