Up for sale is a 1956 ford F-100 1/2 ton pickup. It has its original 272 ci V8 engine and the original column shift 3 speed manual transmission. The truck starts and runs and you can drive it around the block but at this point I would not call it road worthy. It needs a front suspension rebuild, carb could use a rebuild, engine smokes blue when fired up and could use overhaul. I drove the car around the block a few times this week and it is currently registered and insured. It has a new brake master cylinder, new shoes, and new wheel cylinders, so the brakes work well. there is a new exhaust system from the manifold back with a glass pack muffler. Valve cover gaskets as well as intake and carb base gaskets were replaced. New spark plugs, cap, rotor, points and condenser. Starter is new but the bendix is old and occasionally kicks out. frame is in great shape and was sandblasted and painted a few years ago. the previous owner started to install new bed wood but never finished putting nuts on the carriage bolts and tightening them down, so that needs finished. The inner fenders are free of rust. the rest of the body parts are in good shape. newer rear fenders, fronts are good originals. Cab has some patchwork done on the floor but is otherwise solid. doors are in good shape and have new latches just installed. Bed is original. rear bumper is new chrome but got damaged by tow truck driver a few months ago. front bumper is original. all 3 hood emblems are new. mirrors are in good shape. the running boards have been redone using diamond plate steel and are solid. the steel wheels are older ford KH wheels but are not original to the truck. Paint is older and doesn't have much shine but has a nice patina, or you could buff it out and it would shine up a fair bit. several chips etc. seat is still in original upholstery but needs redone. no carpet or headliner. missing interior door handles. as far as electrical, the truck starts with the key, but other than that needs rewired. my name is Jay and I'm selling the truck for a friend. If your interested in the truck its currently at my shop so we can put it up on my lift if you'd like to inspect it. Its a cool old truck but a restoration project, it just needs someone to love it again and put some energy into it. happy bidding

Ford Mustang SVT caught looking fierce on the 'Ring
Tue, 15 Jul 2014The next-generation Ford Mustang SVT is one of the most anticipated performance cars of the moment. We've already seen it testing multiple times, but it has always been covered is some very heavy camouflage. However, Ford has just given us our best view yet of the new muscle car. According to our spy photographer, the Mustang was at the Nürburgring for high-speed testing, which meant that the Blue Oval had to remove most of the heavy obfuscation that the SVT has worn previously.
The stylish, more revealing camo makes picking out some of the more interesting details about the SVT rather easy. Starting from the front, there is the big hood scoop to feed cold air to its still mysterious engine. You can also immediately make out the model's new grille and lower front air dam. It has a vertical piece running from the bottom of the hood all the way to the ground. The aggressive styling almost gives the 'Stang the look of two fangs ready to bite down. The hood seam is even taped off here, which shows us its outline.
Around the side, it appears that the front and rear fenders are wider than stock, and the sills are certainly much larger. You can also just make out the SVT's bigger brakes behind its black wheels with a polished lip. Finally, at the rear, things appear mostly stock other than the diffuser that the exhaust outlets nestle into.
8 cars we're most looking forward to driving in 2015
Mon, Jan 5 2015Now that 2014 is officially in the books, it's time to look ahead. And following our list of the cars we liked best last year, we're now setting our sights at the hot new metal that's coming our way in 2015. Some of these, we've already seen. And some are still set to debut during the 2015 auto show season. But these are the machines that keep us going – the things on the horizon that we're particularly stoked to drive, and drive hard. Jeep Renegade Not the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Not the Ford Mustang GT350. Not the new John Cooper Works Mini. Nope, I'm looking forward to the adorable, trail-rated Jeep Renegade. And that's because I really, really, really like our long-term Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I do not, however, care too much for the Cherokee's looks, and I really don't like its $38,059 price tag. The Renegade Trailhawk, meanwhile, promises much of the same rough-and-tumble character as its big brother, but at what we expect will be a more reasonable price (I'm personally wagering on the baby Jeep's off-road model starting at no more than $23,000). With a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a nine-speed automatic, it should also be a bit easier to fill than the V6-powered Cherokee. Also, I can't help but love the way the Renegade looks. It's like someone took a Wrangler, squished it by 50 percent and then handed it off to George Clinton for a healthy dose of funk. The interior, with its bright, expressive trims and color schemes should also be a really nice place to spend some time. I'll be attending the Renegade's launch later this month, so I'll have a much shorter wait than my colleagues. Here's hoping the baby Jeep lives up to my expectations. – Brandon Turkus Associate Editor Mazda MX-5 Miata Here's an uncomfortable truth: I'd rather spend a day driving a properly sorted Mazda MX-5 Miata of any generation on a winding road than I would nearly any other vehicle, regardless of power, price or prestige. It's not just that I prize top-down driving and enjoy the Miata's small size because it gives me more road to play with. I just find there's more motoring joy to be had with high-fidelity handling and an uncorrupted car-to-driver communication loop than I do with face-distorting power or grip – let alone valet-stand gravitas. But perhaps most of all, I love Miatas because they can deliver that level of feedback and driver reward at modest speeds that won't put the locals on edge or endanger lives – you can use more of the car more of the time.
2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Your Mileage May Vary
As difficult as it is to write this, I was actually excited about the 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid. With the beautiful looks of the newest midsize fighter from Ford and a fuel economy estimate capable of shaming even the stalwart Camry Hybrid, the battery-augmented four-door seemed like a recipe for unabashed success. But appearances love nothing more than swapping our boundless enthusiasm for cold platters of disappointment. The 2013 Fusion Hybrid gets hobbled right out of the gate with a lofty price tag, and real-world driving keeps the sedan from even approaching those EPA figures.
With so many excellent midsize hybrids on the market, is there any reason to consider the newest Fusion Hybrid? Are sharp aesthetics, a well-executed interior and capable driving dynamics enough to overcome the machine's shortfalls? Not from where I'm standing.
