1954 ford pickup. clear open title in hand. got this pickup on trade the other day and really dont need it or want to build it. so i figured i try selling on ebay before i start sinking money into it. plans if not sold....make a rat rod truck out of it. lower it even more. run a radiator and model a headlights only and some kind of flatbed on the rear. make a moonshine truck!
the cab does not seem bad. needs three new brake line connections next to the brake booster. the po cut them trying to take cab off. with 3 new lines it should stop. everything else brake wise seems working order. gas cable is unhooked at the carb. gas cable is aftermarket billet. i hooked a hot battery u to the engine. it fired up easy on first turn. sounds good. po told me the front subframe and engine from older camaro and so is rear end. so im guessing the engine is 305 or maybe 350??? not sure. engine has full length headers, aluminum intake and edelbrock carb. powering steering. frame is worst thing about the whole truck. someone really couldnt weld but apparently the PO previous owner.... said he drove the truck himself for over 10 years. i was going to go over all the old welds. grind them down flush with frame. reweld if needed. the weld gussets over any welded joints for extra insurance. one picture taken shows the worst weld. actually started cracking. frame isnt junk but needs attention fast. automatic transmission. appears to be a turbo 350 or something along those lines. engine has exhuast running all the way back. flowmaster duals. sounds great. rear glass has small crack. wheels are 20inch. look kinda rustic to me and was going to keep for rat rod look. other than that not much more to say. floors are pretty solid as can be seen in pictures. seat is just laying in truck. truck is for sale locallly. can call or text or email ... 270 734 0643 270 734 0048 thanks chris |

Exceptionally rare '65 Ford GT40 Roadster prototype up for auction
Sat, 14 Jun 2014Think of mid-engined supercars and your mind is bound to gravitate towards Europe, but the United States has been known to make a handful from time to time - exceptional vehicles from the likes of Vector, SSC, Mosler, Hennessey, and Saleen. But long before any of those came around, Ford famously became obsessed with beating Ferrari at its own game, leading to the development of the iconic GT40.
The story is well known, sending Ford to the checkered flag at Le Mans four times in a row in the late 1960s. Ford and Shelby also built over 100 for public consumption, but just four of them were roadsters. Of those only one remains in original condition, and now that exceedingly rare example going up for auction.
Consigned to RM Auctions for its mid-August sale during Pebble Beach weekend in Monterey, California, this 1965 model is the first GT40 Roadster built. It was used as a development and demonstration vehicle for Ford and Shelby. Carroll Shelby himself drove Henry Ford II in this very car during one of many test and demo events, this time held for Ford's board of directors in Los Angeles.
Chrysler called out over lackluster Ram Runner by racer who helped develop it
Fri, 11 Apr 2014Fans of off-roading and desert blasting might recall that Chrysler offers an aftermarket conversion that can turn a Ram 1500 into a road-legal desert racer, called the Ram Runner. The kit, sold through Mopar, includes some significant suspension upgrades, body tweaks and a brawnier cat-back exhaust for the truck's 5.7-liter V8.
Considering all of this, comparisons with the almighty Ford F-150 SVT Raptor are common. Among the off-road community, that makes these two a sort of Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang for people that prefer driving on dirt. In the Race-Dezert forum, the discussion as to which truck was better was proceeding as normal - Ram fans said their piece and Ford fans said theirs. Then, a man named Kent Kroeker offered up his two cents.
See, Kroeker is a Baja racer, and the man that helped develop the Ram Runner. Despite his association with the truck, though, he had some less than kind words for Chrysler and the Ram Runner.
'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
