I am selling my 54 f100 truck to make room for the next project. This truck was built (Long Beach) and resided in southern California until two years ago when I purchased it. It has been used as a daily driver and the 8 year old paint has several rock chips to show for that. The body is very straight and it is worthy of a black paint job if I were to keep it. It has a fresh 302 V8 with 10K miles and a check of the block number that shows it was out of a 71 Torino, it is coupled to a fresh C4 Automatic green dot, white dot transmission. For those who are saying what is that, it is a C4 that could be run as a two speed or three speed depending on driving conditions. (some call them city, country or select-o-matic or cruise-o-matic trannys.) I have it hooked up to a Lokar shifter for an AOD so it can be run in drive or overdrive positions as a two speed or three speed. The differential has 392 gears so it runs fine either way. Front end and brakes are bone stock however I did install a single leaf (added one back for a total of two) to drop the front end to improve the stance and the ride on the truck. I also removed half the leaf springs(every other leaf) on the rear to improve the ride and installed new gas shocks. This truck steers and stops with no issues. The original gauges and speedo work and it has been converted to 12 volt with 12v electric wipers. We added ceramic headers with dual exhaust and an HEI distributor. This truck is far from a rat rod, but not a show truck, just a very nice solid daily driver. Starts, runs, drives no knocks, doesn't smoke, drives well. If your down for Cruising the Coast we are not that far away from Gulfport MS and would be happy to show it. Truck is for sale as it where is, I am the owner and have clear title in my name, I will be happy to assist with loading with the shipper of your choice.

Fields 'required' to use private aircraft, could make $5.25M as Ford CEO this year
Thu, 03 Jul 2014Mark Fields' travels on the friendly skies will soon be a relatively personal affair, as the new CEO at Ford will be required to resume air travel via the company's private planes. Fields caught plenty of flak in 2007 for flying on the company's dime to visit his family in Florida. He's since flown commercial.
According to Ford spokesperson Susan Krusel, who spoke to Bloomberg, Fields (pictured above right, with Bill Ford, Jr. at center and Alan Mulally at left) will switch to private travel "for safety and to maximize his availability for company business." In addition to his new travel arrangements, the 53-year-old exec's salary and bonuses have been revealed.
Regulatory filings by Ford revealed that Fields, whose first day in the big chair was July 1, will receive a base salary this year of $1.25 million and he'll be eligible for $3.5 million in bonuses, both of which are lower than Alan Mulally's $2 million salary and $5.88 million in bonuses received last year. That's also lower than General Motors CEO Mary Barra's alleged $1.6-million salary and considerably less than Sergio Marchionne's $3.19-million fixed salary from Fiat. Despite falling short of other CEOs, Fields' new pay still represents a 33-percent increase over his pay as Chief Operating Officer.
Shelby GT500 and Roush Stage 3 go head to head at the drag strip
Wed, 07 Aug 2013The Ford Mustang is a brilliantly affordable source of horsepower, with a base 300-plus-horsepower version available for well under $30,000. Jumping up to about $35,000 will get you a solid 420 horsepower from a high-revving V8, while those with some extra disposable income can get a pair of 600-plus-horsepower monsters. Both the Roush Stage 3 with its Phase 3 package and Ford's factory Shelby GT500 even crest the 650-horsepower mark, with 675 and 662 ponies, respectively.
Naturally, someone needed to find out which of these hi-po Mustangs was the quickest. And while this video is quite obviously a dealership commercial, at least there's some solid drag racing between two of the most powerful performance machines available for under $100,000.
With two NHRA drag racers at the wheel, the Stage 3 and GT500 go head to head for three races. Scroll down below to see the results in the full video.
Ford's Farley apologizes for saying Blue Oval tracks customers with GPS
Fri, 10 Jan 2014Ford marketing head honcho Jim Farley made waves at CES this week by telling show attendees, "We know everyone who breaks the law, we know when you're doing it." according to a report by Business Insider. Farley continued by saying, "We have GPS in your car, so we know what you're doing. By the way, we don't supply that data to anyone."
Farley has since amended his statement, saying that Ford dose not, in fact, track its customers in their cars "without their approval or consent."
Apparently carried away with a hypothetical notion, Farley was attempting to describe how Ford might be able to employee aggregated user data for things like accurate traffic reporting and pattern spotting. A Ford spokesperson confirmed with Business Insider that its GPS units are not sharing the whereabouts of drivers, though there are a few on-board services that might do so. After opting in to the services (and presumably being made aware of any/all tracking and data collection), Ford's Sync Services Directions and Crew Chief software do, in fact, allow data collection as a means of improving both systems. Farley added that the opt-in data is not shared, even when being tracked.
