Fresno, California, United States
This is a 1953 Ford Truck F100 PROJECT!!! that I picked up recently, The previous Owner had it as a driving truck until about a year ago, he decided to pull motor and trans and use on another vehicle. The motor that was in it was a 440 Dodge. This will be a Easy Truck to get on the road just need motor and trans! This is Perfect if you want to save a lot of time and $. Would make a Great Rat Rod or Shop Truck with all the hard work Done!! The good part about this Truck is that the Frame is done!!! This is a Project Truck so please keep that in mind when bidding! Chassis: Must II with Manual Rack and Power Disk Brakes in Front with Booster mounted between the Frame rails under cab and ALL WORKING!! The Rear End is out of a 1970 Dodge Charger and Gear Ratio is 276 gears. Bolt Pattern is ford 4 on 4.5 all the way around. Has like new Dual Exhaust Pipes running all the way out the back With Flo Masters, (the flow masters mufflers have some surface rust) New Fuse Box 12V with all Lights Working!!! Turn signals headlights, tail light brakes lights!! WORK! Tires Like New!! P235/60/R15" all the way around, Rims are Power Coated Black with like new Trim Rings and Center Cab!
Body: The Body is good but does have a few areas that need attention. Its Straight!! and all sheet metal is good other than the Rear Cab Corners (I Will include new replacement ones) and the Hood has a Bad area on top (please see pic), the bed is not the best it does have some weld repairs here and there, down at rear of tailgate and has old ply wood in floor. It will need weather stripping around the doors!! (doors not tight because of that) The Truck looks good but keep in mind the Grille and bumpers are not new and do have some areas where chrome is missing from being old! not Perfect!!! But would be good little driver! Perfect Rat Rod!! Overall still a nice little truck! Interior: Tilt Steering Wheel (Chevy) all hooked up and Tight Steering to the Must II front suspension! The inside is old resto probably from the 70's I say that because someone painted the interior with that old Wrinkle paint that was used back in the day! Has a few old Chrome parts, and Flooring and Fire wall Solid!! Seat is in need of reupholster and the driver side springs are weak. Glass on truck is ok The windshield has Wiper marks and the Passenger side door glass is Cracked (I will include a good Glass). I'm sure I'm missing some thing so if you have questions please ask! This is not a Show Truck but a Project and will make a Good Driver!! It don't get any easier than this to have a F100 on the road, your motor and trans and driveline and your on the road!!! I am trying to describe the truck the best I can. I have not have it long. Title is Clear and in My name and is Currently Licensed and Tagged till May of 2015. US Ford Focus RS to be imported from Europe
Tue, 21 Oct 2014Rumors about the forthcoming Ford Focus RS are flourishing into what sounds like a very impressive new hot hatch. The latest scuttlebutt gives the first indication about when we might see a few of these fast Focuses on roads here in the US.
Unnamed insiders reportedly confirmed to The Truth About Cars that Ford plans to launch the Focus RS in the US in 2016. However, getting one might not be so easy - the boosted powertrain means the car would likely need to be imported from Europe. That's likely going to keep the total number available in the US rather low. The sources estimate a price tag that's a bit more expensive than the top Focus ST3, which starts around $28,500, plus $825 destination.
It seems that a pretty potent package comes for all of that cash, though. The Focus RS reportedly uses a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making between 325 and 350 horsepower, with a torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system to get that muscle to the road. The test mules also wear more aggressive front and rear fascias, dual exhaust tips, larger brakes and sticky tires. It sounds like a great formula on top of the already enjoyable Focus ST.
Ford, GM to collaborate on 9- and 10-speed transmissions
Mon, 15 Apr 2013Back in October, there were reports that General Motors and Ford Motor Company were hard at work co-developing new nine- and ten-speed automatic transmissions, and now both automakers have confirmed this joint operation. While there are no specific vehicles mentioned to receive either transmission, a collaborative press release issued by GM and Ford mention that the transmission will be designed for front- and rear-wheel-drive cars, crossovers, trucks and SUVs.
These aren't the first powertrain components developed jointly between these cross-town rivals, either. The six-speed automatic currently used in vehicles like the Ford Edge, Ford Fusion, Chevrolet Cruze and Chevrolet Equinox was engineered in a similar fashion. As is the case with this existing transmission, both automakers will assist in the design, development and testing of the new transmissions, but each will build its own units in its own factories. Scroll down for the official press release.
Car Stories: Owning the SHO station wagon that could've been
Fri, Oct 30 2015A little over a year ago, I bought what could be the most interesting car I will ever own. It was a 1987 Mercury Sable LS station wagon. Don't worry – there's much more to this story. I've always had a soft spot for wagons, and I still remember just how revolutionary the Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable were back in the mid-1980s. As a teenager, I fell especially hard for the 220-horsepower 1989 Ford Taurus SHO – so much so that I'd go on to own a dozen over the next 20 years. And like many other quirky enthusiasts, I always wondered what a SHO station wagon would be like. That changed last year when I bought the aforementioned Sable LS wagon, festooned with the high-revving DOHC 3.0-liter V6 engine and five-speed manual transmission from a 1989 Taurus SHO. In addition, the wagon had SHO front seats, a SHO center console, and the 140-mph instrument cluster with mileage that matched the engine. When I bought it, that number was just under 60,000 – barely broken in for the overachieving Yamaha-sourced mill. The engine and transmission weren't the only upgrades. It wore dual-piston PBR brakes with the choice Eibach/Tokico suspension combo in front. The rear featured SHO disc brakes with MOOG cargo coils and Tokico shocks, resulting in a wagon that handled ridiculously well while still retaining a decent level of comfort and five-door functionality. I could attack the local switchbacks while rowing gears to a 7,000-rpm soundtrack just as easily as loading up on lumber at the hardware store. Over time I added a front tower brace to stiffen things a bit as well as a bigger, 73-mm mass airflow sensor for better breathing, and I sourced some inexpensive 2004 Taurus 16-inch five-spoke wheels, refinished in gunmetal to match the two-tone white/gunmetal finish on the car. That, along with some minor paint and body work, had me winning trophies at every car show in town. And yet, what I loved most about the car wasn't its looks or performance, but rather its history. And here's where things also get a little philosophical, because I absolutely, positively love old used cars. Don't get me wrong – new cars are great. Designers can sculpt a timeless automotive shape, and engineers can construct systems and subsystems to create an exquisite chassis with superb handling and plenty of horsepower. But it's the age and mileage that turn machines into something more than the sum of their parts.
