1953 Ford F-100 pickup truck

This truck is all steel.  The top has been chopped 3 inches.  It has a Chevy small block 350 blower motor with a B&M supercharger.  The drive train is from a 70’s era Chevy Nova or Camaro.  The transmission is a 700R4 and a 10 bolt rear end.  The tires are new.  Has power windows and door poppers.  This is a really good driving truck.  The engine and transmission are trouble free to the best of my knowledge.

I acquired this truck last year and know very little about it.  We have worked on it tweaking some of the problems we observed such as tires, battery, replacement door poppers, rebuilt the alternator.

The truck is painted PEPTO BISMOL PINK inside and out.  This truck was built locally around 15 to 20 years ago.  I believe the gentleman who built it also built a 53 Ford panel truck and painted it the same.  He has since passed away.

I have decided to sell off a lot of “gear head stuff” as I am getting too old and tired to fool with all this anymore and I just don’t seem to have enough time.  I also have a 36 Chevy Sedan Delivery, a couple of Yamaha Wave Runners and a 78 Malibu with a big block I am planning on selling soon.

That is all I really know about the truck.  It is a nice truck and it would cost a fortune to build it the way it is built.  People either love or hate the color.  It has ghost flames on the sides of the front fenders that you may not see in the photos.

I have never sold anything on Ebay before although I have been a buyer for 10+ years.

If you buy this truck it is what is, as is, where is.  I have a perfect rating score on Ebay and want to keep it that way.  If you buy it I require NON-REFUNDABLE  $500.00 deposit via Paypal within 72 hours of the auction ending and arrangements to pick up the truck within 10 days of receipt of the deposit.  The remainder is to be paid in cash.  I understand there are a lot of shady deals with payments and I do not want to be taken advantage of.

The information provided is not warranted.  Some information is assumed as passed along from hear say and some I have deducted from my observations.  I am trying to be as honest as possible regarding what I am describing the truck as being and as to how it is equipped.

If you have any questions I will do my best to answer them as time permits.

It is possible I may withdraw this truck from the auction if I get a response from word of mouth regarding its being for sale.  A lot of people I know and that have heard about it would love to have it but do not have the funds or can not justify purchasing it.

The $500.00 deposit is not refundable.

Thanks for your time!

Ford Transit is America's new best-selling van

Tue, Jan 6 2015

The Ford Motor Company's sales in December ticked up 1.2 percent in the US, and the automaker was down 0.5 percent for 2014. But the Blue Oval looks like it might have a real winner on its hands when it comes to its new Transit van. The recently introduced line nearly doubled its numbers during the month by delivering 10,030 units for an annual total of 20,488 examples sold. It also gave the fullsize model the title of America's bestselling van for December. Those 10,000 sales put the Transit head and shoulders above all of its competitors in the crowded commercial van market. Second place went to the Chevrolet Express with 5,611 sales in December, and the ancient Ford E-Series was third with 5,256 moved. The rest of the segment was somewhat lower, with the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter at 3,288 units for the month, Ram ProMaster at 3,036, GMC Savana with 1,725 and Nissan NV at 1,554. December also marked the second month in a row for the Transit to beat out the E-Series in sales. However, its predecessor still won overall for the year with 103,263 units moved in 2014, but it enjoyed a full calendar year of sales. According to Ford spokesperson Mike Levine, the smaller Transit Connect had its best sales month ever for December too, and the automaker has been among the sales leaders in the van segment for the last 36 years. "Clearly, sales show we're best at meeting our customers' needs," said Levine to Autoblog, who touted the model's results on Twitter and cited the Transit's numerous configurations as its biggest selling point. Ford's latest van has other plusses, too, say analysts. "The one thing the Transit has going for it is a low base price relative to the competition. Compare the base price of the Sprinter to the Transit and it is hands-down a Transit win," said Dave Sullivan, auto industry analyst at AutoPacific, to Autoblog. Purely by model name, the Transit was also the bestselling van in November, with 4,851 deliveries. However, the Chevy Express had 4,478 sales, plus 716 more from the GMC Savana. Since these two are the same model beneath the skin, as a platform, they arguably took the title for that month. With a new year already here, the Transit has a new challenge to face. "2015 will be the year that the Transit has to leave the nest, because E-Series inventories will be close to zero and Transit will have to carry all the weight," said Sullivan.

Need for Speed movie casts Mustang in hero car role

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

Dreamworks Studios, Electronic Arts and Ford Motor Company announced today that the Ford Mustang will play the lead hero car role in the upcoming Need for Speed movie, slated to hit theaters next February. Of course, the Mustang didn't audition for the role like we imagine the film's star, Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad fame, might have. Rather, Ford and Dreamworks struck a partnership deal that meant the Mustang could skip the casting couch. The deal will also see the film's universe populated with other Ford products (gratuitously so, we're guessing), and the automaker will also help the studio promote the video-game-turned-movie next year.
The hero car in question is a special one-off Mustang created by Ford that is making its debut at the E3 video game trade show as we speak. Powered by a supercharged V8 and apparently based on the Shelby GT500, the car's been modified with a widebody kit, 22-inch wheels, larger air intakes and twin hood nostrils. Ford also provided the film's production with an F-450 truck that will be called "The Beast" in the film's story, and a second Mustang to be used during filming as a camera car.
The Mustang's movie career is really taking off, with news of its Need For Speed casting closely following last week's release of the trailer for Getaway, a movie coming out in August that stars Ethan Hawke, Selena Gomez and another Shelby GT500. In addition to Aaron Paul and a modified Mustang, the Need For Speed movie also stars Michael Keaton (cop, we're guessing) and Dominic Cooper (villain, we're guessing), and is directed by Scott Waugh, who directed the Navy SEAL film Act of Valor in 2012.

Why Ford's Alan Mulally would be right for Microsoft, or any company

Thu, 03 Oct 2013

That Mulally was seriously being considered says a great deal about Microsoft and Mulally.
It appears that the chatter about Ford CEO Alan Mulally possibly leaving early to take over as CEO of Microsoft is losing air pretty fast. What's pretty interesting is that it got any traction in the first place.
