This 1940 Ford Pick Up went through an extensive frame-off restoration by some of best auto-body guys in the business. The craftsmen who worked on this frame-off build took a personal interest in building this truck the right way - the meticulous way - because this truck was built as their crown jewel, their shop truck, and it was proudly displayed in their showroom to showcase their attention to detail and absolute dedication to craftsmanship. They built this truck right - no short cuts - everything done beautifully; from the body, paint and pin striping, to the underside, interior, wood bed, and engine compartment. Even the doors shut perfectly - super tight - as they should. It’s stunning inside and out, and even underneath. It was completely dismantled and put back together with every nut and bolt cleaned or replaced, and put back together better than new, and has over $20K in just the man hours of labor alone. It was prepped to perfection prior to paint - which is Hot Rod matte black with custom flames and hand painted pin striping/detail by one of the very best in the hotrod business. All this over striking red & black new interior. Truck Features:
Call or Text me for more info: 805-236-0210 ps- for those who asked, I acquired this truck when I learned that the owner/master builder had eye surgery and was retiring from building cars. I had admired this truck in his showroom for a long while and was honored to buy it. I'm only selling it now because I have 3 kids and they all fight over who gets to ride shotgun with me to the ice cream shop. So, I sold all my two- seaters, including my 1966 Corvette 427, and decided to only own vintage cars that can fit all my kids! Note: I'll include some pics I have of the build and some spare parts that came along from the builder. If for some reason you didn't want the hand-painted letters on the doors that read, "CUMMING Auto Collision", you can easily have the letters removed, or even have a local shop re-spay the doors with Hotrod Black (I have some left-over paint that comes with the truck). Personally, I love the shop lettering, but I'm biased because I live in Cumming, GA, and everyone here knows this local shop and how great their work is. For me, it's kinda like 'bragging rights' when you drive down the road, or go to a local car show. |

Ford recalling 65k Fusions from 2014 and 2015 because key can be removed
Tue, 18 Nov 2014Ford is recalling an estimated 64,869 examples of the 2014-2015 Fusion, Fusion Energi and Fusion Hybrid in North America because the key can be removed when the vehicle isn't in Park under certain conditions. Specifically, the campaign covers 56,479 units in the US, 6,048 in Canada and 2,342 in Mexico, according to the automaker's tally on November 11.
Ford says a programming problem in the instrument cluster means that the key can be removed 30 minutes after the ignition is turned off, even if the transmission is not in Park. The situation where this could happen seems quite limited, and the company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue. However, the fault puts the vehicle out of compliance with federal regulations covering theft protection and rollaways, and must be repaired.
The fix is easy: Ford will reprogram the instrument cluster at no cost to consumers. According to Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker in an email to Autoblog, "We will notify customers the week of January 5th." Scroll down to read Ford's announcement.
Ford evaluating new Fiesta RS?
Wed, 08 Jan 2014Word coming in from across the pond has it that Ford is working on developing the business case to create a new Fiesta RS. The development is encouraged by the extremely positive reception the existing Fiesta ST has garnered to date, and the emergence of the above-pictured Fiesta RS WRC rally car, but it'll take more than goodwill to make a more extreme version a reality.
According to Auto Express, a new roadgoing Fiesta RS would almost certainly be based closely on the ST version, albeit with some vital differences. Its 1.6-liter turbo four would be increased from 180 horsepower to somewhere around 230 hp, and that powertrain would be accompanied by lightweight alloys inside blistered wheel arches, a stripped-out interior and possibly lightweight bodywork.
The vehicle's approval would reportedly require a strong business case in Europe, and not just in the UK where Ford hot hatches traditionally enjoy a strong following. It's unclear whether the Fiesta RS would potentially make the transatlantic voyage to American showrooms, but between it and the larger Focus RS, hopefully the Blue Oval wouldn't leave its home market out of the action altogether.
2014 Ford Fusion order guide reveals new base Hybrid model, equipment changes
Tue, 23 Apr 2013We've gotten our grubby little digits on the dealer order guide for the as-yet-unreleased 2014 Ford Fusion thanks to an anonymous tipster, and while there isn't much that's unexpected, there are some meaningful equipment changes to report after the rakish sedan's first year on the market.
Mechanically, the big news is, of course, the recently confirmed availability of the 1.5-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder paired with a six-speed automatic. The powertrain replaces the 1.6-liter automatic setup of 2013, though if you want a manual transmission, you'll still get the extra .1-liter of displacement.
On the equipment front, there are newly available rear inflatable seatbelts - as seen previously on the Explorer - along with a new heated steering wheel and cooled seat option on Titanium and Titanium Hybrid models (the latter two options will be late availability).
