Sanford, North Carolina, United States
For Sale: 2007 Ford Explorer--Eddie Bauer--V6, 4.0L--4WD (worked perfectly in the recent inclement weather!)
Pertinent Info: 2nd owner, 117k miles (highway), no known mechanical issues, body and interior in excellent condition. Has 1st and 2nd row and cargo Weather Tech all weather, custom fit floor mats/liners (about $400 just for those!). New brakes, rotors turned, tires rotated, and tune-up. 3rd row seating. All leather. Has input for MP3 and also a single disk CD player. Awesome factory sound system. Power everything. Rear controls for AC/Heat. AC and heat both work GREAT. Towing receiver. This is my wife's daily driver, so mileage will increase until it is sold. This is a great vehicle--we just no longer need such a big vehicle on a daily basis. It has been well maintained and is in excellent condition. My wife regularly commutes in this vehicle and it has never given us any troubles. All maintenance is up to date. Tires still have plenty of life left in them. Carpet and leather are all in great shape. Awesome vehicle and I hate to part ways with it, but my wife wants something smaller to scoot around town in. We reserve the right to end this auction early, as it is for sale locally. High bidder must pay a $500 deposit within 24 hours of auction close. Balance is due in full within 10 days. Vehicle must be picked up within 10 days. We can pick up buyers from Raleigh-Durham International Airport if need be. If you are local to us, you can come inspect in person prior to bidding. |

Xcar celebrates 100-year anniversary with Model T tribute
Fri, Jan 9 2015Never mind the fact that XCar hasn't been making videos for the last 100 years, the British duo have gone all silent-moving-pictures in order to make their centenary case for the Ford Model T, a car that was already seven years old in 1915. It's not a review, but a mostly sepia-tinged look at the car that started the mass-market adventure by taking that biblical advice to be fruitful and multiply and populate the Earth abundantly. Since it looks like Xcar is celebrating some kind of milestone, we've also included another video below of the first Xcar review we could find, covering the BMW M1, from the much more recent past - circa 2012.
Ford F-150 bumps Camry from top of Cars.com American Made Index
Tue, 25 Jun 2013With July 4th just around the corner, what better time could there be for Cars.com to announce that the Ford F-150 is the Most American car of 2013? This may be especially true since it was the Toyota Camry, a car produced by a company based in Japan, that had held the top spot from 2009 to 2012.
Cars.com compiles its Most American list by considering the amount of parts each vehicle uses that come from America, where it's final assembly takes place and how many units per year are sold. "While the assembly point and domestic parts content of the F-150 didn't change from 2012-2013, vehicle sales are responsible for bumping the F-150 to the top spot," according to Patrick Olsen, Editor-in-Chief of Cars.com.
As far as automakers go (as opposed to individual models), Toyota retains the top spot it held in 2012, with General Motors, Chrysler, Ford and Honda (in that order) rounding out the list. The motivation behind this list each year, according to Olsen, is "to help car shoppers understand that 'American-Made' extends beyond just the Detroit three" and because "a study we conducted in 2012 indicated that 25 percent of shoppers surveyed preferred to buy American."
