We are selling our 2006 Ford Explorer Limited. We have owned the car since new and have always had it very well maintained. It was just state inspected a few months ago and runs great. It currently has a little over 123K miles on it. It is metallic grey, with two-tone tan leather interior. It is fully fully loaded with EVERY OPTION- v8 engine, 4WD, two-tone leather, heated seats, sunroof, 3rd row seat, tv/dvd player, towing package, roof rack, factory chrome rims, chrome exterior accents, upgraded CD stereo, tinted windows, back-up sensors, etc. The car runs great and is in overall excellent condition. EXTERIOR: The outside of the car is in excellent condition. As mentioned, it was always garage kept and definitely shows it. There's really no dents or scratches, only a "smudge" or two in a couple of spots. Paint is overall very glossy! INTERIOR: The interior of the car is in very good as well. The leather is a little worn in driver and passenger seats, as well as a couple of spots on the interior. But only wear from usage, no rips, etc. Everything electronically works fine. The car was never smoked in. MECHANICALLY Let me first start out by saying that I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car tomorrow from New York to Florida and then back again. The mileage should not scare anyone, and you can be assured it is in excellent shape mechanically. The car has always been looked upon and does not currently need anything. Maintenance has always been kept on it, and it's ready to go anywhere. As a final note, all I can say is that this car is in excellent condition all around. 'Car Wars' says Ford, Honda to pick up share, Fiat-Chrysler ambitions downplayed
Sat, 14 Jun 2014Don't look for a tremendous shifts in automotive market share over the next three years because it might not be coming. That's at least according to the annual Car Wars report by John Murphy, from Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Research.
In the report's analysis of automakers' market share from 2013 to 2017, it predicts only small changes among the major companies. Ford and Honda see the biggest positive effect with an estimated 0.5 percent increase in their shares over the next three years; to 16.2 percent and 10.3 percent respectively. On the flip side, European automakers and Nissan are expected to lose 0.2 percent each to fall to 8.3 percent and 7.8 percent each respectively. The rest of the industry is predicted to hold steady as it is now.
The biggest loser in that prediction might be Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles. The report certainly throws a wet blanket on its plan for significant gains in market share. Murphy told The Detroit News that the company's goal was "almost unattainable."
2015 Ford Mustang 50th Anniversary Edition says 'happy birthday' in New York
Wed, 16 Apr 2014Fifty years ago this week, Ford debuted the first-ever Mustang at the New York World's Fair. And to celebrate, the Blue Oval is offering up this special, 50th Anniversary Edition 2015 Mustang, which makes its debut at the New York Auto Show. It'll be a seriously limited affair, with only 1,964 examples of the special edition Mustang slated to be produced (the number chosen to coincide with the 'Stang's first year in production). But for those who raise their hands for the 50th Anniversary package, there's a pretty sweet package in store.
The 50th Anniversary Edition is based on the 2015 Mustang GT with the Performance Pack, and is only available in two colors: Kona Blue, or Wimbledon White (pictured). The car also comes fully loaded - the only option for buyers to choose is the transmission. Should you opt for the six-speed automatic, you'll get a limited-slip rear differential with a 3.55:1 final-drive ratio (the 50th Anniversary car is also the only way to get a slushbox-equipped 'Stang with the Performance Pack). Selecting the six-speed manual 'box will net you a Torsen differential with a 3.73:1 ratio. All 50th Anniversary cars will be powered by Ford's 5.0-liter, naturally aspirated V8, estimated to produce more than 420 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque in the 2015 Mustang.
Inside, there's a cashmere-stitched, leather-wrapped steering wheel, with a similar detail found on the instrument panel, shift boot, door inserts, seats, and center armrest. Two-tone leather/black upholstery is also part of the 50th Anniversary package, and of course, there's a special logo on the seats.
Ford files trademark for 'EcoBeast' moniker
Mon, Dec 29 2014Ford has done some performance stuff with its EcoBoost line of vehicles, most notably with its Focus and Fiesta ST, the new, turbocharged Mustang and the luke-warm Taurus SHO and F-150 Tremor, but it's kind of avoided going wholly bonkers. That could be set to change quite soon, judging by a trademark filing with Uncle Sam. Ford has registered the name EcoBeast with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, listing it as "automobiles and automobile engines," according to the team at Motorlix, which discovered the filing. As always, it bears mentioning that companies are constantly filing trademarks, even if a good or service never emerges with said name. We agree with Motorlix, though – it seems highly unlikely Ford is going to just let this name languish. What vehicle or engine will wear this new badge is the real question. We're leaning towards something F-150 related, based on our last round of spy photos of the new SVT Raptor, although it's impossible to say for certain what the Blue Oval has planned. Here's hoping we find out in just a few weeks when Ford brings basically all of its performance merchandise to the 2015 Detroit Auto Show.
