This Explorer XLT is probably one of the lowest mileage and nicest 2005 Explorer's in the country. It is in excellent condition. My Father-in-law bought this vehicle brand new and was always garage kept. I inherited the vehicle when he passed away and it was still kept in my In-Laws garage. I only used it to take my Mother-in-law somewhere. It MAY have been in the snow 4-5 times at the most. The 31,342 miles is documented. The third row seat was used twice in 8 years. It is being sold only because my Mother-in-law cannot get into the vehicle any more. We had to buy a lower vehicle in order for her to get into the passenger seat and that is the only reason for us selling this vehicle.

There is no rust anywhere. The interior is as clean as it was when he drove it from the dealer. No rips, tears, or repairs on the cloth seats. There are no mechanical issues that I am aware of. The vehicle was never smoked in; it still smells new.

The oil was changed every 4,000 miles and is Penna. inspected until July of this year.

There is a fair reserve on this vehicle and there is a buy-it-now option.

The vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction any time.

Even though this Explorer is in excellent condition, it is a used vehicle and there are no guarantees.

Buyer pays for the shipping, however I will meet the buyer at a reasonable distance from Hermitage Pa. with this vehicle.

If you need a low mileage vehicle that is almost brand new for a reasonable price, consider this vehicle. You will save $20,000.00 or more and and have a vehicle that will last for years.

Please bid only if you are interested in buying this vehicle

I will answer any questions you may have.

Ford invests $682 million in Edge-producing Canadian facility

Sun, 22 Sep 2013

Ford announced that it's investing $682 million in its Oakville assembly plant in Ontario, Canada, to make it a global manufacturing plant, which the automaker also says secures 2,800 jobs there. Including this injection of cash, Ford has invested over $2 billion in Canada in the last decade, starting with nearly $1 billion for Oakville in 2004, and over $570 million for its Essex Engine Plant in 2010.
The move to make Oakville a global manufacturer of Ford vehicles means, "If consumers suddenly shift their buying habits, we can seamlessly change our production mix without having to idle a plant," says Joe Hinrichs, Ford's president of the Americas.
Ford says that the latest investment will help it meet North American demand for the Oakville-produced Edge crossover, which is on track this year to beat 2007's US sales record of 130,000 Edges. The Ford Flex and Lincoln MKX and MKT are also manufactured at the plant.

Lincoln Continental production likely to shift to Flat Rock

Fri, Jun 12 2015

Lincoln production may be returning to Michigan, according to a new report from Automotive News. While the brand's current big sedan, the MKS, is built alongside the Ford Taurus, Ford Explorer, and their Police Interceptor counterparts at the Blue Oval's Chicago, IL factory, the production version of the Continental won't be screwed together in the Windy City. According to AN, "industry sources" claim the Continental will join the Ford Mustang and Ford Fusion – on which the big Lincoln is loosely based – at the company's Flat Rock, MI factory. The move isn't just based on convenience, though. Ford is selling a lot of Explorers, and shifting Lincoln production away from Chicago Assembly frees up production capacity for the popular SUV. "Chicago Assembly Plant is vital to our global manufacturing footprint and will continue to manufacture the Ford Taurus, Ford Explorer and Police Interceptor vehicles even after we phase out production of the MKS in 2016," Ford told Automotive News. "We will continue to match production to demand." Looking at the numbers further backs up the argument against Lincoln production in Chicago. Last year alone, Ford built nearly 285,000 Explorers and over 73,000 Taurus sedans, compared to just 8,300 Lincolns. Finally, as AN tells it, Ford is almost telegraphing the Continental's arrival in Flat Rock. The facility has a four-week shut down scheduled from June 15 through July 13, which is twice as long as the typical summer vacation, while there's another two weeks off slated for September. Ford reveals new rapid prototyping and low-volume production techniques [w/video]

Mon, 08 Jul 2013

It's called "F3T," and that stands for Ford Free-form Fabrication Technology. The process that The Blue Oval has developed means being able to sidestep the weeks-long process of tool-and-die making when engineers want to construct a new part, allowing them to fabricate a three-dimensional part from a two-dimensional sheet of metal in just hours.
While F3T is being developed it is limited to "low-volume prototyping or even low-volume niche vehicles," but the next step is to evaluate it for use in Ford's global manufacturing facilities. You can find out more about it in the video and the press release below.
