CURRENTLY UP FOR SALE IS A RARE POLICE VEHICLE. 2003 FORD EXPLORER XLT FORMER POLICE VEHICLE. THIS CAR IS IN REALLY GOOD SHAPE. ITS RUNS GREAT. EVERYTHING FUNCTIONS AS IT SHOULD. THE MILES ARE PRETTY LOW FOR THE YEAR AND SHOWS VERY LITTLE SIGNS OF WEAR. THIS PAST WEEK , 4 BRAND NEW TIRES WERE INSTALLED. PRIOR TO THAT I INSTALLED A NEW STEREO/CD/DVD HEAD UNIT WITH FULL BLUETOOTH CAPABILITIES. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN COMPLETELY REBUILT, WHICH SEEMS TO BE THE MAIN FAILURE OF THESE CARS. IT RUNS REALLY WELL. THERE ARE NO ISSUES AT ALL WITH DRIVABILITY. AS FOR THE BODY, IT WAS A POLICE VEHICLE ,YOU SHOULD EXPECT A FEW SCRATCHES HERE AND THERE, BUT AS THE PHOTOS SHOW ITS A DECENT CAR. IT WAS USED BY LOCAL GOVERNMENT AGENCY AND WELL KEPT. THE INTERIOR IS PRETTY CLEAN .THERE ARE SOME MARKS FROM FORMER EQUIPMENT BUT NOTHING THAT HURTS THE EYES. Ford going bonkers at SEMA with 57 showcars
Sat, 19 Oct 2013Ford always shows up in force at the SEMA Show, but this year's tally of 57 custom-tuned cars, trucks and vans is more than we can ever recall the Blue Oval bringing. Ford will introduce 28 of its project vehicles in its "Dreamcase" ahead of next month's show. The first batch of eight you'll find here with the remaining vehicles trickling into public view over the next couple of weeks.
This first group of cars includes a Fiesta, four Fiesta ST hatchbacks and a trio of Mustang show cars styled and tuned to varying degrees all by different aftermarket companies. Tanner Foust, Nitto Tire, 3dCarbon and Ice Nine Group are some of the more familiar names affixed to these cars. Our favorite so far is the Hollywood Hot Rods Mustang convertible (shown above) with its removable aluminum top and methanol-injected, 750-horsepower 5.0-liter V8.

Curtain officially comes down on Mercury as dealers remove signage
Mon, 03 Jan 2011The process of shutting down the Mercury is complete. Ford officially made the decision to close its mid-level brand in June of 2010. In the months that followed, Ford offered its dealers money to stop selling the cars, with production shutting down in September. The last Mercury, a Mariner, rolled off the assembly line in the beginning of October and former spokesperson Jill Wagner said her good-byes to both the car and her job. Now the last piece of the brand has come down as dealers are removing any and all Mercury signage from their lots.
