For sale is our 2003 Ford Explorer XLT. It is in excellent condition with just a couple very small dings. The interior is also in excellent condition. The Explorer has a very long list of new parts in the past 2 years, and runs and drives great. It has 126,xxx miles on it. It is equipped with the following options:
-4.0 liter V6
-3:73 gear ratio
-Automatic 4x4, 4x4 High, 4x4 Low
-Towing hitch with factor 7-way plug
-Black/Charcoal cloth interior

-17" aluminum wheels
-Goodyear wrangler tires with about 50% life left in them. I will also include another set of good tires with sale.
-Power drivers seat, power windows, power locks,
-Cold A/C

It has been very well maintained with consistent 3000 mile oil changes. It has also had the following maintenance and repairs done in the past 2 years (25,000 miles):
-New transmission from AAMCO, still has 1 year left on the warranty.
-Both front wheel bearings replaced
-New left rear wheel bearing
-New front brakes
-New rear brakes
-All rotors machined
-Rear differential totally rebuild with all new bearings and limited slip clutch pack

-New u-joints in drive shaft
-Coolant flush, new thermostat.
-New alternator
-New serpentine belt
-New belt tensioner and idler pulley

The only thing wrong with the Explorer is that the fuel gauge will intermittently cut out and drop to E. The fuel pump sending unit needs replaced. The sending unit is available seperate from the whole fuel pump, it is around $85.00.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about the Explorer. It has been a great car, and we would love to keep it but our family is growing. E-mail me, or call 570.439.2287 for any questions about the Explorer, or to set up a time to come and look at it. Thanks!
We are looking to get $5,400 obo.

2023 Grand National Roadster Show Mega Photo Gallery | Hot rod heaven

Wed, Feb 8 2023

POMONA, Calif. — From an outsider's perspective, it would be easy to assume that the Grand National Roadster Show has always been a Southern California institution. After all, it celebrates the diverse postwar car culture of the region — hot rods, lead sleds, lowriders, and more. However, the show had its roots in NorCal in 1950 when Al Slonaker and his hot rod club showed their custom cars at the Oakland Expo. The GNRS moved to Pomona, California, in 2004. By then it had grown exponentially and seen about a dozen more car customization trends come and go. However, the show and its centerpiece award, the America's Most Beautiful Roadster prize, celebrate what is perhaps the first of those trends: the American hot rod in its purest form. Today, in its 73rd year, the GNRS is the oldest indoor car show in America. Annually it welcomes 500-800 cars, gathered into special themes like Tri-Five Chevys or Volkswagen Bugs. At this year's show, which was last weekend, a special hall was dedicated to pickup trucks built between 1948-98, including mini-trucks, groovy camper bed conversions, and resto-mods.  However, of all the vehicles presented, only nine are eligible for the America's Most Beautiful Roadster award. Winners get their names engraved on a 9-foot-tall perpetual trophy that was, according to The Ultimate Hot Rod Dictionary, the largest in the world when it debuted in 1950. Slonaker chose the word "roadster" initially because "hot rod" bore slightly negative outlaw connotations in 1950. Only American cars built before 1937 of certain body styles — roadsters, roadster pickups, phaetons, touring cars — are eligible, and they cannot have roll-down side windows.  Cars in the running for the cup cannot have been shown anywhere else before their debut at the GNRS.  Contestants for this accolade essentially build their cars to the a platonic ideal of a hot rod. This year the honors went to Jack Chisenhall of San Antonio, Texas, for his "Champ Deuce," a 1932 Ford Roadster. It's exactly what you picture when you think of a hot rod, but distilled to its absolute essence.  Other standouts included "Green Eyes," a two-tone green 1959 Chevy El Camino  with a heavily metal-flaked bed, "Blue Monday," a 1964 Buick Riviera lowrider, and a personal favorite, "Purple Reign," a purple and black 1951 Mercury. Cars may have started out as tools, but there aren't shows like this filled with custom refrigerators.

2015 Ford Focus ST gets sleeker style, improved dynamics

Thu, 26 Jun 2014

The Brits don't really have a major auto show these days. Not in a conventional sense, anyway, with stationary vehicles under floodlights in a closed exposition space. What they do have, you could argue, is much better: the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where the public can view the latest machinery not only under an open sky, but in motion as well, speeding up Lord March's front lawn. And this year, British automakers are rolling in with some very enticing new metal.
In the past few days alone we've confirmed the McLaren 650S GT3 and MSO, Jaguar F-Type Project 7, Range Rover Sport SVR and Ariel Ace will all be revealed for the first time at Goodwood this weekend. Ford isn't, strictly speaking, a British automaker, but for all its history in the UK, it might as well. So it's chosen Goodwood as the site to unveil its refreshed Focus ST.
The upgraded Blue Oval hot hatch still packs a 2.0-liter turbo four with 252 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque driving through a six-speed manual to the front wheels, so we're not expecting much change in measurable performance. But Ford has given the new Focus ST a new front suspension setup and a new electric power-assisted steering rack that combine to promise improved handling.
