This is a very nice low mileage Explorer with only 97,000 miles. It is a 4 wheel drive that runs and drives great. It is the highly optioned Eddie Bauer edition. It has the V-6, 4.0 litre engine with a just completely rebuilt transmission. As you all know this is a very expensive repair. At the same time we replaced the front shocks, the idle air control valve, the DPFE sensor and a new tail pipe. This vehicle is in excellent condition inside and out. The paint is nice and shiny, no fading. The inside is excellent with minor wear on the driver seat and the console lid. The rest of the inside is like new. This is loaded with power windows, locks, mirrors, power seat, tilt, cruise, delay wipers, automatic headlights, climate control, factory Moonroof and cd changer. All options work. The a/c is ice cold and the heat works as it should. The engine sounds great with no odd noises or smoke. It does not leak anything. As I said earlier the transmission is new so it shifts as it should with no leaks. The 4 wheel drive also works properly. This also has the chrome Explorer wheels with Michelin tires. This vehicle passed both the Safety and Emission test. Don't miss out on this low mileage Explorer. This vehicle is sold AS-IS with NO WARRANTY. Please feel free to contact me with any questions @ 314-832-7317. A deposit of $500 is due within 24 hours of auction end. The balance is due no later than 7 days from end of auction. |

How the Ford Shelby Mustang came to be
Fri, 20 Sep 2013Even as rumors swirl that the next-generation of high-performance Ford Mustang will drop the Shelby name, Ford has released a short video telling how the legend of the Shelby Mustang came to be. In its latest installment of its video series entitled Mustang Countdown, Ford dug up some footage from Carroll Shelby to give a little insight into how this automotive icon was created.
While it's definitely interesting to hear the late legend tell the story in his own words (including numerous references to the 1964 Mustang as a "secretary's car"), it's also pretty funny learning exactly how the Shelby GT350 got its name in the first place - a name allegedly making a comeback as the replacement for the current Shelby GT500. As development work continues on the 2015 Ford Mustang, the Shelby video posted below shows that the automaker is always looking at its past - even as it looks ahead to the future.
Ford F-100 'Snakebit' shown off by Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed at SEMA
Tue, 05 Nov 2013Ford, along with KISS bassist Gene Simmons and his wife, Shannon Tweed, used SEMA as a backdrop to pull the covers off Snakebit, a 1956 Ford F-100 pickup truck that's been updated with Shelby Mustang-derived styling bits and a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine. All 550 horsepower are funneled through a six-speed manual gearbox to the rear wheels.
Underneath the custom bodywork sits a chassis that's been stretched five inches and a bed widened and bedecked with billet machined pieces that are supposed to look like wood. The 20-inch rear and 18-inch front wheels ape those of past Shelby Mustang models. The interior is swathed in two-tone leather with a bench seat designed to look - try to act surprised - like a Shelby Mustang.
Like what you see? Bidding for the truck will take place in 2014 at an unspecified Barrett-Jackson event (we'd assume Scottsdale). Proceeds will be used to help build a children's hospital in Saskatoon, in the province of Saskatchewan, where Ms. Tweed grew up. See the high-res gallery above and the press release down below for more.
2015 Ford Mustang potentially 'leaked' by Car and Driver
Mon, 28 Oct 2013Few upcoming debuts have been as eagerly anticipated as the all-new Ford Mustang that's expected to debut shortly as the Mustang's 50th anniversary year approaches. Well, Car and Driver magazine would have us wait no longer as it claims to be leaking Ford's new global pony car early.
Of course what you're looking at is just as likely to be a composite rendering based on what C/D projects the new Mustang to look like, but to our eyes it looks spot on. Combining design traits from the Evos Concept with classic Mustang signatures and Ford's Aston-inspired grille treatment, C/D's images - including a complete 360-degree digital navigator - show a Mustang not only for the modern era, but also for global distribution, taking a quintessentially American car to markets its predecessors were never designed for.
Those global considerations are expected to spell the demise of the outgoing Mustang's holdout live rear axle in favor of an independent suspension, and a slight constricting of the exterior dimensions. And thanks to a separate leak, coming from a digital survey, we have apparent confirmation of what will power the new pony car. While the existing 3.7-liter V6 and 5.0-liter V8 engines will apparently carry over with only slight adjustments in output, the survey confirms a new 2.4-liter turbo four will be positioned in between them, offering slightly more power than the V6 but markedly improved fuel economy for a manageable $560 premium over base.
