2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Xlt Sport Utility 4-door 4.0l on 2040-cars
Bronx, New York, United States
- Exterior: Great condition; constantly car washed; waxed last summer (2013); very minor scratches (I think about 2-3); typical line crack in the back of the truck under the rear windshield extending behind the FORD logo; new all-season tires put on last summer (2013) along with wheel alignment and balancing - Interior: Good condition; driver and passenger leather seats starting to show wear/tear but none are ripped; fabric is clean but can use an interior detailing. - Mechanical: Transmission is re-built and runs very good; New Motor; complete tune-up was done last summer (2013); exhaust leak recently fixed; starter seems to be going bad but it doesn't happen often at all; front passenger side wheel bearings may need to be replaced soon but that's only from what I hear - History: Car was transferred over from ex-wife who purchased it from Major World; I fixed and maintained it solely since 2011; one rear ender resulted in no damage to the truck or tow-hitch; one t-bone style accident resulted in minor damage to the fender which has since been replaced (sorry, don't remember the years of either accident) - Shipping/Payment: Truck is available for pick-up; depending on where you live, arrangements can be made for delivery, drop-off. - I'm selling the truck because I want to get another truck. I would like to have a little extra money to put down on the new truck. I'm looking to get the new truck mid-July so if this doesn't sell by then, I will simply trade it in. |

Ford dealer loses Super Bowl bet, pays $300K to lucky customers [w/video]
Tue, 11 Feb 2014A Missouri Ford dealership's Super Bowl weekend sale cost it big when the improbable happened. Hutcheson Ford ran a promotion from January 29 to February 1, called the Super Weekend Sale. The gist was, if any customer purchased a vehicle between those dates and either the opening or second-half kickoff of the big game was returned for a touchdown, the dealership would refund the purchase price.
In the dealership's defense, it seemed like a safe bet. According to the mathematicians, there was just a 2.5-percent chance of either half opening with a touchdown return. But that didn't stop Seattle's Percy Harvin from doing his part to ruin Denver's evening, returning the second-half kick for an 87-yard touchdown run. Twelve Hutcheson customers were eligible for refunds thanks to the return, with prices ranging from $10,000 to $55,000, according to Automotive News. The total amount shelled out by the dealership? $300,000.
"At least we're not like that furniture guy that lost $7 million," dealership marketing manager Kathleen Frazier told AN. We think it was a big success." The dealership did take out insurance to cover its losses, meaning the $300K won't come entirely from its pockets.
This unique '64 Mustang was Edsel Ford II's first car
Thu, 02 Jan 2014You probably had the same dream when you were a teenager. Your sixteenth birthday is coming up, or Christmas, or maybe both, and all you want is a muscle car to call your own. That dream has come true for some, and one of them was none other than Edsel Ford II.
Henry Ford's great grandson turned 16 on December 27, 1964 - two days after Christmas and eight months after the original Mustang went on sale. And that's just what was waiting for him in the driveway, courtesy of his father (and reigning chief executive) Henry Ford II.
The specially-prepared pony car had a pearlescent cream paintjob with narrow blue racing stripes, functional hood scoop, chrome trim, Euro-spec fender-mounted mirrors, a blue leather and aluminum interior, a monogrammed fuel cap... and a 289-cubic-inch V8 under the hood.
Ford Mustang GT350 drops some camo
Mon, 03 Feb 2014Now that we've poured over the 2015 Ford Mustang in its standard form, it's time to look ahead. We already knew (and heard - literally) that Ford was working on a higher-performance version of its 'Stang to replace the Shelby GT500, and earlier reports have stated that it will simply be called the GT350.
We don't have a ton of detail to go on, but this latest set of spy photos clearly shows a hood-mounted air scoop, which suggests a forced-induction powerplant is under the hood. However, this disagrees with earlier reports that the GT350 will be all motor, using a naturally aspirated engine to send massive horsepower to the rear wheels. Our spies also point out the functional vent aft of the front wheels to allow for better airflow, and the massive quad exhaust pipes can be seen, clear as day.
Expect to see the Mustang GT350 in April, when it debuts at the New York Auto Show in conjunction with the Pony's 50th anniversary. In the meantime, have a look at our gallery above to see the latest shots of the hot Mustang out testing.
