Selling my 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac XLT. This truck as been mechanic owned and cared for. I bought it new in late 2004 and have been the only owner. Great daily driver, have had no issues with the truck due to regular preventive maintenance. Non-smoker. Never taken off road, abused, or used to haul anything like a trailer or boat. Quick cold a/c. After market tonneau cover for bed comes with (not pictured). Car has been garage kept for past 5 years. It has normal dings from being a daily driver with good scratch on tailgate near handle and driverside rear qaurter panel has slight damage from getting a love tap from some jerk in the parking lot. 2 small almost unnoticable dings in the windshield, not in line of sight. Other than those spots the paint and body is in better than good shape.
Truck has 146,xxx (mileage will continue to go up as it is my daily driver. Starts right up and still purrs like the day I bought it.
All new within last 8 months
New Tires (less that 100 mile on tires at posting.
New altenator
New front shocks
New rear shocks
New upper ball joints (both sides)
New lower ball joints (both sides)
New serpentine belt
New crankshaft pulley
New rear differential seal
Recent alignment
Good gas milage for a truck 16/21, I average about 19mpg with a 50/50 split city highway driving.
Would make a great first car for a new driver or a pickup for someone needing a vehicle to carry stuff in. I know I'm going to miss it when it's gone but have 2 cars and can only drive one at a time. Tons of these on the road still with 250,000+ miles on them. Will need front brake job in about 1000-1500 miles. I will replace both front rotors, pack new bearings, and replace pads if preset amount is reach amount. Truck is for sale locally so auction may end early.

2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Supercrew
Fri, 15 Mar 2013I'm not normally a pickup kind of guy, but the 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor won me over nearly instantly. The street-legal trophy truck - there is really no other way to accurately describe it - is big, brawny and incredibly capable. Let's just say it's every bit the monster it visually portrays. I spent a week pretending I was one of Ford's Baja 1000 drivers, but lacking desert sand, I headed into the local mountains where a mild winter storm had dropped a couple inches of fresh snow on my favorite off-road park. The Ford was, for the most part, practically unstoppable.
Ford offers its SVT Raptor package on Supercab and Supercrew platforms with the five-foot, five-inch bed. The Supercrew I tested rides on a 144-inch wheelbase (about a foot longer than the Supercab). In addition to its cosmetic differences when compared to the standard F-150 - there isn't a young boy on the planet who doesn't think the matte black Ford grille is cool - the Raptor has a 73.6-inch track - nearly seven inches wider than the track on the standard F-150.
After upgrading the F-150 SVT Raptor significantly for the 2012 model year, there are only a few changes for 2013. The list includes standard high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps, Hill Descent Control, forged beadlock-capable wheels, and the new matte Terrain color (aka "Desert Storm") option seen on my test model.
Ford readying Ranger-based Everest SUV?
Fri, 21 Feb 2014Way back in August, we showed you a Ford concept for the Australian market called the Everest. Now, we can show you that work on the new Ranger-based SUV is well under way.
At this stage, it's still quite clearly a mule (note the misalignment of the front and rear doors), wearing the Ranger's front end and the rump of Ford's overseas Territory crossover. The wheelbase is shorter than a Ranger, according to our spy photographers, which strikes us as somewhat odd for a more passenger-oriented vehicle. Disc brakes should be fitted at all four corners, while the new SUV, which will almost certainly wear the Everest name, should sport a new rear suspension.
In terms of looks, we're expecting the Everest Concept to inform the appearance of the production model. Naturally, there will also be some interior tweaks, particularly around the dashboard, which is covered in these photos.
70% of pickups could use aluminum by 2025
Wed, 11 Jun 2014In the next decade, the auto industry will see an explosion in its use of aluminum to cut weight and increase fuel economy, according to a study from market analysts Ducker Worldwide cited by The Detroit News. We are already seeing the lightweight metal show up extensively in luxury models from Europe, but with the impending launch of aluminum-intensive 2015 Ford F-150 (pictured above), North America is using it even more, as well. The report predicts 70 percent of US pickups to have aluminum bodies by 2025.
It won't just be pickups that see the benefit, though. The average amount of aluminum in US vehicles is forecasted by the study to grow from an average of 350 pounds in 2013 to about 550 pounds by 2025. The most common parts to use it will be hoods, doors and - to some extent - roofs, as well.
The massive increase in pickups' aluminum content hardly seems surprising. The F-150 is predicted to use so much that it might cause a short-term shortage, according to one earlier report. At the same time General Motors is heavily rumored to be negotiating with suppliers for the next generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. Ram is the last holdout of the Big Three, but the study predicts that not to last.
