You are bidding on a super-clean and well maintained 2002 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer, driven mainly as a back-up/snow vehicle since I bought it in 2010 with 98k miles.

She is powered by the 5.4L Triton V8 (260hp, 355 lb ft torque), with electronically controlled AWD/4WD and the OEM Ford tow package (8100 lbs max towing - see owners manual- included)

Exterior is black with tan trim, interior is tan leather with beige carpet.

The Eddie Bauer option includes power driver seat/pedals/mirrors/moonroof.

The tan leather is in very good condition for its age (soft and supple, slightly worn, not torn or cracked, maintained with Leatherique since I bought it), the carpet is clean and intact (not frayed or torn), new all-weather floor mats up front, and the original mats in the rear.

The front and rear seats are captain's chairs, while the 3rd Row is a removable/fold-up seat.

Tires are General Grabber HTS (highway, all season) with <15k miles and plenty of tread.

Almost all of the maintenance was done by the same mechanic and is detailed below:

Maintenance:
Last 3 months:
New spark plugs, front struts, and rear torque bar

Last 6 months:
new brake lines, new upper and lower rear trailing arms

Last Year:
New K&N air filter, new alternator/battery, new transmission cooler

Last 3 years (30k miles):
front suspension  was overhauled with new upper and lower control arms and ball joints, new wheel bearings (front and rear), new tie-rod ends, new power steering arms.  The following year, she received a new PS pump and steering box, new pads and rotors front and rear, new gas shocks for tailgate, new gas cap, new u-joints, new pass side exhaust manifold, and transfer case flushed, rear diff flushed and resealed.

This is the last year of the F-150-based Expeditions, so if you want a real TRUCK, this is the one for you.  KBB Private Party value for this vehicle in this condition/mileage is between $5-6000.

THIS VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD "AS IS".

Happy bidding and good luck!

Ford looks to protect logo from Toronto mayor followers

Fri, 15 Nov 2013

One is a member of the Detroit Three and the maker of the Mustang, Fusion, Explorer and F-150. The other is an admitted loudmouthed, drunk-driving, crack-smoking mayor in Canada. Unfortunately for one, it shares its name with the other. Yes, Ford Motor Company is going to great lengths to keep its iconic Blue Oval logo from being appropriated by supporters of besieged Toronto mayor Rob Ford.
At a United Way event earlier this week, some of Mayor Ford's fans showed up with shirts that featured the automaker's logo with the words "Ford Nation," on them. Naturally, Mayor Ford signed them. FoMoCo was quick to issue an unhappy statement:
"Ford did not grant permission for use of its logo. We view it as an unauthorized use of our trademark and have asked it to be stopped," spokesperson Jay Cooney said. There was also a statement from Ford of Canada's Twitter account after a user alerted the company:

Recharge Wrap-up: Ford HQ gets giant solar array, Chevy City Express gets 24 MPG city

Sat, Aug 16 2014

Ford will be building Michigan's largest solar array at its Dearborn headquarters. With funding from DTE Energy, the solar carport will provide covered parking, as well 30 charging stations for electric vehicles. The array is expected to generate 1.13 million kWh per year for Ford's operations, and offset 794 metric tons of carbon emissions. Read more in the press release below. Chevrolet announced the fuel economy for the 2015 City Express, at 25 mpg combined. The cargo van is rated at 24 mpg in the city, and 26 mpg on the highway. Chevy credits the van's inline four-cylinder engine and continuously variable transmission for its impressive city mileage. For its customers - which are mainly businesses - "The fuel economy of the City Express will help stretch their dollar at the pump and give them the flexibility to invest the savings back into their business," says Chevrolet's Ed Peper. The City Express starts at $22,950. Read more in the press release below. Engineers at the University of Wisconsin have developed an efficient engine that runs on a diesel-gas blend. The engine, which uses a computer to control the blend proportions, is about 15 percent more efficient than the any diesel engine according to mechanical engineering professor Rolf Reitz. The team has put the experimental reactivity controlled compression ignition (RCCI) engine in a demonstration car - a 2009 Saturn. "This vehicle can do 50 miles per gallon," says Reitz, who believes the system could be improved further. Read more at Wisconsin Public Radio. The Southeast Alternative Fuel Conference and Expo will take place in October in Raleigh, North Carolina. Held at the NC Clean Energy Technology Center from October 22-24, the event will feature a variety of exhibitors, speakers and, most importantly, alternatively powered vehicles. "The three day conference will be a one-stop shop for fleet and transportation related decision makers to learn about return on investment, efficiency and alternative transportation fuels such as biodiesel, electricity, ethanol, propane and natural gas," says Anne Tazewell of the NC Clean Energy Technology Center. If you can't make it to Raleigh for the Expo, you can still enter to win a free two-year lease of a Nissan Leaf at the Center's website. Learn more about the event in the press release, below.

Jay Leno sees how the other half lives with CHP cop cars new and old

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

Comedian Jay Leno is changing gears from driving fast cars to checking out some of the police cruisers that regularly chase down and dish out punishment to those fast cars. In this episode of Jay Leno's Garage, we get the lowdown on the modifications made to the Ford Explorer for the Interceptor package (which looks pretty tough in its California Highway Patrol livery).
The new Ford is cool, but cooler still are the pack of classic CHP cars that Jay has along for the episode. A 1982 Mustang, 1966 Dodge Polara, 1970 Mercury Monterey and 2000 Crown Victoria are all in the shop. Better still, Jay lays out an argument for ones of the classic cruisers as the best cop car of all time. Get your guesses in now, and then scroll down to watch and learn.
