1999 Ford Expedition XLT Sport Utility 4-Door 4.6L

AS-IS SALE, she Runs, but Smokes.

I was told it was oil dripping on the exhaust, and then told by someone
else that it sounds like the value seals need replacing.
A few spots of rust, mostly surface rust.

I thought about making this truck a hunting truck for up north, sleep and hunt for
hunting those tough spots or a wood hauler, but I still can't find the time.

Now, don't come here looking for a daily driver with no problems,
I am being up front, so do the same.

Clear Title, one owner before I bought it.

You can make some money by parting this truck out, there are lots of great parts.

All parts fix 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002 Ford Expedition, and some
fit Ford Pick-up Trucks for these years.

$500 Deposit is required within 24 hours unless you ask for another day, and you have a
week to remove the truck with the remaining balance of $500.  If you need more time
for pick up, then I will ask for another deposit of some sort, but this can be talked about.

Non-serious bidders will be hunted down and asked "nicely" to return my listing fee.

Thanks for stopping buy,
David

The U-2 spy plane needs high-performance cars to help land

Thu, Oct 15 2015

Typically, aircraft deploy their landing gear from three main points. Most military aircraft, for example, deploy two gears at the back and one forward, like a tricycle. Some civilian aircraft flip the layout, with two in front and one in back - tail-draggers. The U-2 Dragon Lady is wildly different than any of these. With a 103-foot wingspan but a body that's just 63-feet long, the layout of the U-2 makes a traditional landing setup infeasible. Instead, the U-2 utilizes a pair of wheels, one up front and one in back. With such a bizarre layout, landings are so tough that since the U-2's earliest flights at Area 51, the US Air Force has used high-performance chase cars to guide the pilot down safely. The landing process isn't over there, though. As this video from Sploid shows, balancing out the aircraft to fit the detachable "pogos" – think training wheels for spy planes – is a comical procedure requiring a number of airman using their full body weight to even out the U-2. This video also recaps some of the great vehicles that have served as chase vehicles for this legendary spy plane. They include Chevrolet El Caminos, and the Fox-body Ford Mustangs so favored by the California Highway Patrol. For the last several years, the USAF has utilized products from General Motors, using fourth-generation Chevy Camaros, before switching over to the Pontiac GTO and most recently, the awesome Pontiac G8. It's fair to say that if you're a gearhead in the Air Force, this is the job you want. Check out the video, embedded up top. Curtain officially comes down on Mercury as dealers remove signage

Mon, 03 Jan 2011

The process of shutting down the Mercury is complete. Ford officially made the decision to close its mid-level brand in June of 2010. In the months that followed, Ford offered its dealers money to stop selling the cars, with production shutting down in September. The last Mercury, a Mariner, rolled off the assembly line in the beginning of October and former spokesperson Jill Wagner said her good-byes to both the car and her job. Now the last piece of the brand has come down as dealers are removing any and all Mercury signage from their lots.

How the Ford Shelby Mustang came to be

Fri, 20 Sep 2013

Even as rumors swirl that the next-generation of high-performance Ford Mustang will drop the Shelby name, Ford has released a short video telling how the legend of the Shelby Mustang came to be. In its latest installment of its video series entitled Mustang Countdown, Ford dug up some footage from Carroll Shelby to give a little insight into how this automotive icon was created.
While it's definitely interesting to hear the late legend tell the story in his own words (including numerous references to the 1964 Mustang as a "secretary's car"), it's also pretty funny learning exactly how the Shelby GT350 got its name in the first place - a name allegedly making a comeback as the replacement for the current Shelby GT500. As development work continues on the 2015 Ford Mustang, the Shelby video posted below shows that the automaker is always looking at its past - even as it looks ahead to the future.
