1999 Ford Expedition ~ Eddie Bauer Edition ~ 4 X 4 ~ Leather ~ 3rd Row Seating on 2040-cars
Akron, Ohio, United States
Tired of driving in this snow yet? You won't be if you had this 4x4! This is a terrific running Expedition with the original paint and a very nice leather interior and three rows of seats provide ample space for travel companions. The V8 pulls strong with no apparent leaks and the 4x4 engages how it should and pulls out of the snow terrific. The automatic transmission shifts perfect without missing a beat, the brakes are strong and the suspension tracks smooth without any noises from the wheels or rear. The exhaust is quiet and it’s a pleasure to drive and feels half its age. The interior of the car is leather and there is a tear in the drivers seat which seems to be norm for Fords. Three rows of seats, no foul odors, the carpets are decent and the headliner is clean and tight to the roof. Added touch, a multi-disk CD changer is in the arm rest. The dash is in near perfect shape, all the power buttons work as they should including cruise, hot heat and working a/c, she’s just as nice as they come. The body of the truck is the basic two-tone paint and shines like new. It does have a dent over the rear passenger wheel as shown in the pictures and a couple other areas of rust starting. Do not hesitate to drive this truck home. Cruises the highway like a dream and ready for a cross country trip today! I tried to represent the blemishes in the body as well as possible with the extra pictures. The rear tires are in good shape and the front set will need replaced. Certainly safe to drive on but you may choose to change soon. If you were looking around for a super SUV with 4x4 with three rows of seats and, here is a goodie that will be sold with no reserve so thanks for looking and good luck with the auction.

Ford Claims Focus As World's Best-Selling Car For Second Year In A Row
Mon, Jan 27 2014Ford Motor Co. has claimed its Focus sedan beat out the Toyota Corolla for the title of 'best-selling car in the world' for the second year in a row. The declaration was based on independent sales figures from January to September of 2013, according to USA Today. Last year, Ford used data from the analysis firm Polk to support its claim of having the best-selling car of 2012. Toyota objected, stating the Corolla sold more units. The numbers eventually showed that the Ford Focus was the best selling nameplate of the year, but may have been second to the Toyota sedan overall since multiple variations of the Corolla are sold under different nameplates around the world. Data from the analysis firm R.L. Polk found Focus registrations from January through September 2013 reached 856,587. Ford can thank booming car sales in China, where the automaker sold 303,481 units, for a sizable chunk of that number, which was a 16 percent increase over 2012. "Our success with Focus is the result of Ford's connection to our customers all over the world," said Jim Farley, an executive vice president at Ford. The Focus and Corolla both compete in the popular small sedan segment, along with other hot-selling cars like the Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra and Chevrolet Cruze. These vehicles make a up a large portion of sales for their respective automakers, as they tend to hit a sweet spot for many consumers, coming with a starting sticker price under $20,000, solid fuel economy, plenty of cargo and passenger room and, lately, sharp exterior design and sportier driving dynamics. Ford Escort Concept goes back to basics
Fri, 19 Apr 2013Here's the thing about China: The folks buying cars there have a very different set of standards than shoppers in many other markets around the globe. While we all drool over hot metal with bold designs, and while we appreciate automakers going an extra step to inject even their cheapest offerings with aggressive and interesting cues, that sort of sheetmetal sex appeal doesn't always sell in the People's Republic. Case in point is Jaguar, which may be designing a more traditional-looking version of its XJ for the Chinese market, or more to the point of this story, Ford currently sells the less-exciting, last-generation Focus compact in China right alongside the new one.
So consider this new Shanghai-bound C-segment concept a preview of what's to come for that more traditional, budget-minded, less-sexy market. More proof of this pudding: Ford's even calling this concept the Escort - a nod to the Blue Oval's compact car days of yore, and a name that stirs up thoughts of basic, affordable transportation rather than great driving dynamics or bold design. "Customers in China described seeking a vehicle that is stylish - but not one that is arrogant or pretentious," Ford states. And this new Escort concept previews a possibility of providing exactly that for this rapidly expanding automotive market.
What you're looking at, then, is one of the most simple Ford designs we've seen of late, though it still incorporates all of the automaker's latest DNA. The signature hexagonal grille is front and center, flanked by attractive LED headlamps and chrome-rimmed foglamp housings. The entire car's design focuses on clean, smooth surfaces, with one strong character line flowing from front to back just below the beltline. We will say that the car looks decidedly more premium from the rear view, where narrow, horizontal taillamps with an LED accent give the car added visual width. Bland as it may be, it's a handsome little concept, though fear what would likely happen if all of the conceptual details get dumbed down for a production model.
Curtain officially comes down on Mercury as dealers remove signage
Mon, 03 Jan 2011The process of shutting down the Mercury is complete. Ford officially made the decision to close its mid-level brand in June of 2010. In the months that followed, Ford offered its dealers money to stop selling the cars, with production shutting down in September. The last Mercury, a Mariner, rolled off the assembly line in the beginning of October and former spokesperson Jill Wagner said her good-byes to both the car and her job. Now the last piece of the brand has come down as dealers are removing any and all Mercury signage from their lots.
