Ford Excursion Eddie Bauer Edition 4x4 on 2040-cars
Magnolia, Texas, United States
2005 Ford Excursion, Eddie Bauer Series 4x4. Last of the Mohicans unless you would like to spend over 40K in upgrading a newer F-250 to make your own. Truck runs and drives extremely well for age. Truck is out fitted with a 4" Rancho Suspension lift which on the Excursion actually gives you a total of 6" with in the way the Spring Hangers work. Truck has newly installed 20X10 Fuel Revolver Wheels with 35x12.50x20 MT Tires. Appx. 1300 miles on the set. Newly installed Dual Shock Hoops with Bilstien 5150 Shocks Also Installed around same time frame as wheels. Installed Rear Entertainment System upgrade with Blue Tooth Receivers Head Sets custom color molding to match interior. Truck is equipped with the second row Captains Chairs and third row bench. Upgraded Stereo System with Eclipse am/fm CD player and surround speakers {2} Kenwood Amplifiers with 12" Kicker speakers. Subs are new 2 months old. I purchased Truck from local owner who had a 6.0L Powerstroke Short Block Engine installed after EGR Malfunction caused damage to the #1 Cylinder in older Block. Without looking at title, when I purchased Engine had roughly 5000 miles since rebuild/replacement. I would say Mileage on Motor now would be around 12/15K but don't hold me to that I would need to check title. After I had purchased truck the AC System was not working well, so I took to a shop here in Houston TX. that only deals or works on Powerstrokes and had the Compressor, Condenser, Evaporator and both Exchange lines that run to the rear of the vehicle replaced with new. $3500 dollars in AC repair. the EGR was deleted to not cause any more problems to motor, truck is also equipped with an SCT Live Wire Tuner. The only thing that I have not done to the Engine is the Head Stud upgrade, but if it doesn't sell that will be next thing on my list. Since owning the Truck it has only been worked on or serviced by a Ford Certified Technician who owns their own shop. All Oil Changes are done with Synthetic Fluids. Truck has around 2200 miles before next Oil/Fuel Filter Change. I'm sure I have left some small detail out, but if interested please call me and we can discuss. Truck is being sold "AS IS" with no warranties implied same as when I purchased. If you would like to reach me my number is 832-Six-18-7113. Thanks for Looking, Mike |

Consumer Reports explains its disdain for infotainment
Thu, 20 Mar 2014One of the perks of reviewing all manner of cars and trucks is that we're exposed to all the different infotainment systems. Whether Cadillac's CUE, Chrysler's UConnect, BMW's iDrive or MyFord Touch, we sample each and every infotainment system on the market.
Not surprisingly, some are better than others. It seems consumers have come to a similar consensus, with Consumer Reports claiming that Ford and Lincoln, Cadillac and Honda offer the worst user infotainment experiences. Not surprisingly, you won't find much argument among the Autoblog staff.
Take a look below to see just what it is about the latest batch of infotainment systems that grinds CR's gears. After that, scroll down into Comments and let us know if you agree with the mag's views.
Michigan museum offers Model T driving classes
Sun, 29 Dec 2013Halfway between Detroit and Chicago, there is a car museum that gives visitors a unique level of interaction with antique cars. The Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, MI has a driver's training class to teach people of any age to learn how to drive a Ford Model T.
From the crank starter to the column-mounted throttle control, this driving school teaches people all there is to know about driving and operating a Model T. Each class lasts about two and a half hours and is only open to 18 students. There are ten sessions planned for 2014 - twice a day on May 3, June 22, July 22, August 23 and September 14. The class costs $95 (or $85 for members), and it also includes a tour of the museum's automobile collection.
In addition to this driving school, the museum has plenty of exhibits on the property, and it's open all but three days per year (Easter, Christmas and New Year's Day) with free admission for school field trips and active military. Be sure to check out the Gilmore Car Museum's website or visit them on Facebook for more info.
Is Tesla's next project an F-150 competitor? [w/poll]
Wed, 13 Nov 2013What's the future look like for Tesla after it launches the Model X CUV and possibly a smaller, sub-Model S sedan? Would you believe a pickup truck? Yes, Tesla could be looking to use its EV know-how to take the fight to Ford and the F-150, based on comments made by company founder Elon Musk.
"If you're trying to replace the most gasoline miles driven, you have to look at what people are buying," Musk said during an impromptu Q&A session following a speech at Business Insider's Ignition conference. "[The F-150 is] the best selling car in America. If people are voting that's their car, then that's the car we have to deliver."
And while the idea of electric pickup may sound kind of absurd to some, Musk makes a very valid point - if Tesla's goal is to replace gas miles with electrical miles, it simply can't afford to ignore pickups.
