2003 Ford Excursion Eddie Bauer Sport Utility 4-door 6.8l on 2040-cars
Apollo Beach, Florida, United States
2003 Ford Excursion Eddie Bauer with the Triton V10. 107,000 miles. Priced to sell Great family SUV & a beast at towing that boat or Travel Trailer. Truck has a rebuilt title (from California from a theft not an accident). Currently titled in Florida. I have had this truck now for almost 2 years and I love it- commute is just too expensive for me in this truck. I've had NO issues with it what so ever. Please read on- I want to be 100% honest so I save your time & mine. Buying a car is frustrating, so hopefully my description will help ease that.
The good- the price, strong engine & transmission with Zero Issues. Still looks good, shines up nice & it rides like a dream not a truck. Rear tires have maybe 20k on them still great tread. The 2nd & 3rd row seats are in nice condition- no rips, no cracks. AC is COLD front and rear! No cracks on the dash or doors. Power seats & windows, cruise, Over drive, and defrost work perfectly. Compass and trip computer are working as well. NO WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON. Even though it has a rebuilt title- it was not in an accident. It was totaled by an insurance company in California because it was stolen- then recovered months later. Have your mechanic confirm this, I took it to Brandon Ford to put it up in a rack and inspect it before I bought it. The bad- it needs one if not two front tires. It also needs a realignment and new bearings in front end. Ford quoted me $1100 on the fix, (I also got a second opinion from a local shop) but I don't want to spend $1k on a truck I plan on selling. The car has a few dents on the front steel bumper, a few small dings here and there, and a few scratches- paint shines great though & is NOT dull what so ever. The driver and passenger seats have some cracking & have a rip on the side from getting in and out. The overhead TV/DVD player works when it wants to as does the back up sensors. If you are looking for a great reliable truck that is a beast, still looks good on the outside and inside- this is the SUV for you. |

2015 Ford Focus
Tue, 14 Oct 2014Sitting down at the pre-drive briefing with Ford engineers ahead of sampling the refreshed 2015 Focus, water bottles clinked as we wet our whistles before Q&A. While pouring a glass, we noticed something stamped on the bottle label: "1L." One liter. We were palming the exact displacement of the EcoBoost engine our group was about to drive. This was undoubtedly coincidence (such bottles litter every conference and dinner table in Europe) but it served to drive home just how small the total swept volume of Ford's wunderkind powerplant really is. It's tiny.
Of course, this isn't our first run-in with the little triple - we've sampled its turbocharged charms before in Ford's smaller Fiesta. At that time, we found it had plenty of poke for the subcompact, but the larger C-segment Focus carries around another 450 pounds or so and pushes a wider profile through the air. Would the three-cylinder have the stuffing to make the most of the Focus' athletic chassis, or would it be a letdown? Would it be the same as it was when we tested it in a Euro-spec Focus a couple of years ago? There was nothing left for it but to head out on the bucolic roads surrounding Versailles the day after the Paris Motor Show and find out for ourselves.
Martini Mustang is a 'what if moment' gone right
Wed, 23 Oct 2013Feast your eyes on a masterpiece. This is Steve Strope's Ford Mustang in the classic fastback bodystyle, and as you'll notice, it sports the signature colors of Martini Racing, a livery that's as legendary as any Gulf Racing-styled car. But the red, white and blues of the Martini stripe down this Mustang's middle tell only a very small part of the story, in the latest video from Petrolicious.
What would you guess is under the hood? A 289-cubic-inch V8? Maybe a 302, or some absurd Ford crate engine? Maybe Strope went all Tokyo Drift - he's actually responsible for the "Hammer" Plymouth Satellite driven by Vin Diesel at the end of the movie - and found an RB26DETT to drop into the pony car? You'd be wrong on all counts.
This mad, mad man somehow finagled a Ford-Lotus engine from a 1966 Indianapolis 500 car into the Mustang's engine bay. Yes, a Mustang with an engine designed for a 160-mile-per-hour, open-wheel racecar. That's like someone in 40 years dropping McLaren's 2.4-liter V8 from the MP4-28 into a Scion FR-S. It'd just make a monster.
Ford profiles surprisingly affluent Focus ST buyers
Fri, 08 Nov 2013It comes as no surprise when Ford says that 32-percent of Focus ST buyers are under 35, but we weren't expecting this: the average annual salary of Focus ST buyers is $127,000. Twenty-two percent of non-ST Focus buyers are under 35, while their average annual salary is $67,000.
We like the Focus ST because it has 252 horsepower, is genuinely fun to drive and offers great value for performance-minded car enthusiasts; facts that are not lost on customers, it seems. Ford says that the Focus ST has the highest percentage of conquest sales for a non-hybrid model it sells, and that the top-four trade-ins are from Honda, Chevrolet, Mazda and Toyota. Demand for the hot Focus is strongest in Los Angeles, Detroit, Houston and Orlando.
"[The Focus ST is] having this kind of halo effect for other vehicles we'd hoped for when we invested in the ST brand," says John Felice, vice president of US marketing, sales and service, because it's helping to boost sales of other Ford vehicles.
