2001 Ford Excursion Limited 7.3l Powerstroke Diesel, 4x4, Low Miles, No Rust!! on 2040-cars
Benzonia, Michigan, United States
Hello, You are bidding on a 2001 Ford Excursion Limited 4x4 with the bulletproof 7.3 powerstroke turbo diesel. Low miles and no rust! The door bottoms and sills are all in great shape. The truck originally was from out west. I bought it from the third owner in Ohio and have only driven it two occasions in Michigan winters. It has been stored in my pole barn during the nasty weather rmonths. I would not hesitate to hop in and drive this truck anywhere in the country. This trucks interior and exterior are in great shape! The gentleman I purchased the truck from in Ohio purchased the truck after it had been in a minor crash. He had the truck repaired and drove it for a while before selling to me. Only defects are the drivers seat armrest is cracking, a small rust scratch on the front bumper, a scrape on the front bumper air dam and some small hail spots on the roof. This truck starts right up, does not smoke, leak or burn any fluids. Transmission and 4x4 work great. Tons of power. Has an aftermarket exhaust, K&N Air cleaner upgrade, Mag Hytec trans pan and an Edge power programmer. I just put brand new 285/75/16 tires on the aftermarket mag wheels, truck has a 4" lift and will clear 35's if you wished. This Excursion runs and drives down the road very nice, smooth and without wander or drift. I have also added a Pioneer AVH-P3300BT stereo to replace the factory ford CD player. The interior and carpet are in very nice shape. I am a non smoker and the vehicle does not have any strange smells or odors of any kind. I have added a set of 2008+ Ford factory Super Duty towing mirrors and have integrated the turn signals, power adjustment and heated glass into the factory controls to improve visability and give a more modern look to the truck. I have more pictures that I plan on making available on a photo hosting site for your review. Ebay seems to only allow 24 pictures. If you have any questions I can be reached here or I can provide my phone number if interested in chatting more about the truck. Also if you are close to me I welcome anybody to make arrangements to come take a test drive. You will not be disappointed with this truck! Thanks for looking and good luck!! On Mar-30-14 at 18:25:00 PDT, seller added the following information: I also have the third row seat and it is in excellent condition. Looks like it has been hardly sat in at all. I can provide a pic if needed. Thanks! |

The hottest modern sports cars rendered as rally racers
Thu, Jan 14 2016The modern-day World Rally Championship a monumental amount of fun to watch – I should know, as I recently was lucky enough to head to the UK to watch WRC Wales Rally GB – but even the most monstrous of the current WRC cars are based on fairly pedestrian European hatchbacks. Back in the heyday of rally, the Group B era in the 1980s, much hotter cars were the basis of even more incredible competition machines, for the most part. Take the exotic Ford RS200, or the Lancia Delta S4 with its twin-charged engine. And the hatchback-based Group B cars were bonkers, too. So what would some of our favorite modern cars look like if Group B had never ended? A British site named CarWow hired an artist to reimagine everything from the Rolls-Royce Wraith to the Porsche 911 as a retro-inspired rally car, and they were kind enough to let us share the results in the gallery above. The gallery features an Alfa Romeo Giulia in Martini livery, an Audi TT in classic Ur-Quattro colors, a Fiat 500 Abarth sporting massive flares and a hood blister full of auxiliary lights, a new Ford Mustang in RS200 livery, a Lancia Delta in Alitalia colors, a Porsche 911 in Rothmans livery, a Renault-Alpine in classic blue, a Rolls-Royce Wraith tribute to the Jules cologne Corniche Coupe, and a relatively modern-looking VW Touran. So far, the favorite around the office is the incredible Mercedes-Benz S-Class that is an homage to the wonderful 300 SEL 6.8 AMG "Red Pig" that essentially put AMG on the map. Check out the gallery above and see which one you like the best. Related Video:
Ford to add Android Auto and CarPlay to 2016 SYNC 3 cars via update
Fri, May 19 2017Ford is updating a large number of 2016 model year cars equipped with SYNC 3 infotainment software, adding Android Auto and CarPlay to the vehicles with a free, over-the-air update via Wi-Fi, or using either USB or going through their dealer. The upgrade will be available for around 800,000 vehicles in total, giving a huge number of Ford car owners the chance to get big infotainment improvements without having to buy a newer model car. The OTA update option is also a big step for Ford – it's the company's first for software ever, and it's one of the major reasons that Ford recently hired around 400 new mobile smartphone engineers, the company tells me. For CarPlay, users will still also need to upgrade their vehicle's USB hub to make this work (which will also incur a dealer visit and a cost), but for those on Android, all that's required is a simple software installation. The USB install method is also faster, but the Wi-Fi update option is the start of the company's efforts to really increase its OTA update program, which will be used for security improvements as well as infotainment bumps. Even with a dealer visit and hardware upgrade for CarPlay, this sounds like a worthwhile thing for 2016 vehicle owners to do. CarPlay and Android Auto are huge upgrades vs. most in-car software, offering navigation and entertainment options that follow you from your phone to your car. Retroactively offering this kind of thing to car owners is a definite change in tone for carmakers, since they typically use these kinds of things as incentives to get people interested in vehicle model updates. But as data becomes increasingly important to automakers as a business, it makes sense to encourage greater in-car use of devices.Written by Darrell Etherington for TechCrunchRelated Video: Auto News Ford Lincoln Technology Infotainment android
Ring Brothers shows 1965-66 Mustang fastback carbon fiber body
Thu, 07 Nov 2013We covered one of Ring Brothers' more extreme SEMA builds yesterday, the De Tomaso Pantera-based ADRNLN, but if that well-executed but over-the-top Italian-American exotic is too much for you, then perhaps this Ring Brothers 1965 Ford Mustang fastback with a carbon-fiber body suits your tastes better.
What the performance-parts manufacturer is showcasing with the Mustang is the carbon-fiber body itself, which is fashioned around the 1965-66 fastback. It can be bought from the company and bonded to the skin and unibody as a do-it-yourself project, or you can take your Mustang to Ring Brothers and have the body installed there. The fenders, doors and quarter panels are two-inches wider than stock, and Ring Brothers offers a custom widebody chassis to those who want the complete package.
The show car looks sharp in person lowered on HRE wheels, and we appreciate the bare front end so we can see the supercharged V8 and front coilover suspension, though the details on those performance upgrades are slim. Also note the custom independent rear suspension setup at the rear.
