 2000 Excursion 4X4,

5.4 Great Truck, No Issues. Everything works on truck, the only negative I can think of is the Right Rear quarter window vent motor is a little slow sometimes and their is some checking on the rear glass clear coat by the handle.

Trans was serviced, coil packs replaced, IAC replaced, brakes replaced, pretty much all the usual 5.4 maintenance issues at 100-120K were done when I bought it over a year ago to tow our boat and car trailer with our Jeeps.

Then a month after buying the Excursion, bought a new brand new ecoboost Super Crew F-150 (I just fell in love with it), so the Excursion sits. Bottom line, this Excursion isn't a 7.3 so the new F-150 is 10 times the towing monster.

The only time we use it when we have a ton of people over and can load them into one vehicle (it will seat the population of most small countries comfortably in it). My wife uses it here and there to tractor supply, home depot, stuff like that around town.

I really don't have a use for it and our Kids are now adults, so we decided to put it up sale. These really don't have a heck of a lot of value so if it doesn't sell, I'll do some something stupid and build some sort of "zombie killer" out of it like that awesome Excursion on the Walking Dead TV Series.

But, like I said it is a really good truck. It's a little underpowered with the 5.4 (and you learn once you build up the inertia with a vehicle the size of Belize, it's best to keep it on your side) but I'm obviously not looking for 7.3 Diesel money for it.

As usual, no I am not sending it to Azerbaijan via Nigeria if you give me 9 billion Zimbabwean dollars "to hold" while your Great Uncle Barrister John Big Booty (that was a little Buckaroo Banzai reference for those in the know) clears the money left in the Swiss Bank Account. So save the hassle of writing to me from your Internet cafe in Lagos with your scam of the week.

I reserve the right to end the auction early

Why Edmunds took a sledgehammer to its 2015 Ford F-150

Tue, Jan 27 2015

The discussion around repair bills for the aluminum-bodied 2015 Ford F-150 pickup continued from the beginning of last year to the end, and haven't abated; as an aside, some Tesla Model S owners have been shocked at disquieting repair estimates for minor damage to their aluminum wunder-sedans. Edmunds decided to inject some fact into the fray: it bought a $52,000 long-term 2015 F-150 and clouted it with an eight-pound sledgehammer. Twice. The rear of the bedside took the impacts since it couldn't be replaced, it would have to be repaired. To the pickup's credit, the only reason associate editor Travis Langness hit it twice was that the first sledgehammer blow didn't do as much damage as Edmunds wanted. After the second, the visible damage included the two direct impacts, a few creases, and a cracked taillight, so they drove the pickup to Santa Monica Ford to get an estimate, complete with a fictitious story about how the damage occurred and the mercy plea that Langness was paying for the repair out-of-pocket. In Part 2 Langness hits on some of the details with getting the truck fixed, such as the massively expensive taillight and the list of tools Ford recommends dealers have to work on aluminum. But he was promised he'd have his truck back in seven days, and Santa Monica Ford got it back to him in seven days. In Part 3 we get the bill. It's not small, but it's quite a bit less than it could have been if the service manager had charged Edmunds the official labor rate for aluminum. We're not going to spoil it here, so check out the videos above and below for the beginning and the end, and head over to Edmunds for the complete story about how it all happened and some riffing on the repair numbers. Ford shows off V8-powered Ranger headed to Dakar Rally

Tue, 30 Jul 2013

Avert your eyes now if you're jealous that the global version of the Ford Ranger is not offered in the US. Ford's midsize pickup is being tuned up to take on the 2014 Dakar Rally, and the result is a truck that is probably even cooler than any F-150 SVT Raptor we've ever seen in the States. Ford is actually building two versions of the truck for Dakar, which will run from January 5 through January 18, covering more than 5,000 miles from Argentina to Chile.
Starting with a fully composite body and a 5.0-liter V8 plucked from a Mustang, nearly every aspect of the trucks have been purpose built to take on the grueling race. This includes things like the six-speed sequential gearbox, liquid-cooled rear brakes and the 132-gallon fuel tank. As proof that Dakar is more about endurance than speed, the engines used in these race trucks will be limited to around 350 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, and will max out at a top speed of just 105 miles per hour. Scroll down for Ford's official press release offering more information about the trucks and teams being prepped for Dakar.

This unique '64 Mustang was Edsel Ford II's first car

Thu, 02 Jan 2014

You probably had the same dream when you were a teenager. Your sixteenth birthday is coming up, or Christmas, or maybe both, and all you want is a muscle car to call your own. That dream has come true for some, and one of them was none other than Edsel Ford II.
Henry Ford's great grandson turned 16 on December 27, 1964 - two days after Christmas and eight months after the original Mustang went on sale. And that's just what was waiting for him in the driveway, courtesy of his father (and reigning chief executive) Henry Ford II.
The specially-prepared pony car had a pearlescent cream paintjob with narrow blue racing stripes, functional hood scoop, chrome trim, Euro-spec fender-mounted mirrors, a blue leather and aluminum interior, a monogrammed fuel cap... and a 289-cubic-inch V8 under the hood.
