Up for sale is my 2000 Ford Excursion Limited. This truck has the well known 7.3 diesel, four wheel drive (4x4), as well as a very clean leather interior. The current mileage is 294,500 but may go up since it is a daily driver.  The truck is Burnt Chestnut, Ford color code B4 only available on 2000 Limited Excursions and was custom ordered.  I am the second owner of the truck, and I have all documentation of the work performed by me in the last two years, along with recent things done by the previous owner. This is a very well maintained truck that I would not hesitate to take anywhere!  I only use Motorcraft OEM filters and fluids. Don’t let the mileage fool you, Properly maintained 7.3 diesels will go 500,000+ miles!
I have done all the work to ensure the motor is good for another 300,000 miles at least.  I used the truck for pulling a 14’ enclosed trailer for work but, I have since sold the trailer and no longer really have a use for such a powerful/big truck! I have done many tasteful modifications but I can guarantee this truck was never chipped or tuned! It may resemble and have most of the supporting modifications but like I said I know for a fact this truck was never tuned.  This was all done for personal taste and mainly for towing and driving long trips.
This truck was very well cared for by its previous owner and me. The truck has all the longevity modifications done by me to insure that the truck will perform trouble free for many miles to come!  A big issue on the 7.3’s is the oil pan rusting out well, this truck has a new Motorcraft oil pan, Newer Up pipes, and a rebuilt turbo.  While the motor was out all the block and freeze plugs were replaced as well. All that was done in 2010 by a Wickstrom Ford of Barrington IL. (According to the previous owner, and it shows!)  At 272,000 miles I had all 8 Fuel injectors replaced with Ford Motorcraft reman units as well as the glow plugs by, Heavy Metal Performance Diesel in Rockdale IL.

The truck has two brand new batteries and a 100% new alternator done last year.
I have done many modifications to the fuel system for longevity of the injectors. I did the “hutch mod” which eliminates a problem in the higher mileage diesels, there is also a large inline fuel filter installed with a kit from Dieselsite.com.  I installed a Fuel Rail Cross system to also help with fuel delivery known as the “FRx” by Riffraff Diesel Performance, you will find almost all of the parts installed came from there. At 286,000 I Installed a 100% new International water pump along with switching to a heavy duty Rotella Extended life coolant that is good for 300,000 miles!  The conventional green coolant is no good in a diesel! I also installed a Coolant filter system to eliminate any leftover casting sand from the factory that shortens the life of the water pump. I cannot begin to list everything I have done to this truck; I have always run synthetic Shell Rotella Oil and the motorcraft FL1995 oil filter changed every 3,000 miles!
The Transmission shifts smooth and crisp, I installed an aftermarket Valve Body to help with Fords problem of “sluggish shifts”. The Valve body is a John Wood Valve Body who builds outstanding transmissions and is very well known. The transmission was always serviced every 30,000 miles and again it shows! I serviced it at 275,000 miles with motorcraft fluid and filter, with the Valve body done at 280,000 miles which I changed 10 quarts when I swapped the Valve body. The swap is for towing and the quicker shifts eliminate the slop in-between gears therefore decreasing heat, the enemy of transmissions!   There is simply too much to list to go into detail about but I will say it has a Re-built rear end, newer upper and lower MOOG ball joints, many, many new front end parts. The Tires are 75% left on BFG AT tires with a brand new spare! If you are interested in hearing more about the truck I would be happy to answer any questions you may have and help out in any way possible.
I just took the truck on a 1,300 mile trip to Kansas and I got a hand calculated 20.2 mpg! I The interior is MINT with the only wear being on the drivers seat and a small area in the cargo area were a battery spilled. Ice cold AC and hot heat! I have an aftermarket Pioneer AVIC-D1 head-unit installed with GPS and all the standard features. Everything in the truck works, heated seats, power heated mirrors, Power drivers seat and all 3 climate control zones. The 3rd row seat looks barley used and is in mint condition. This is a very nice shape truck.
I would be happy to send you over 100 detailed pictures and gladly tell you more about the truck! Please note that this truck is for sale locally and this auction can end at any time. This vehicle is sold as is where is. If you would like to inspect the truck before bidding please contact me and we can arrange that. Unrestored 1969 Shelby GT500 one of many classic barn finds going to auction

Wed, 19 Mar 2014

We love a good barn find here at Autoblog. We like that there's a palpable excitement and sense of mystery surrounding barn finds. Each case has its own uniqueness to it, and this latest discovery is no different: an unrestored, one-owner 1969 Shelby GT500 with just 8,531 miles on it.
In the case of this particular barn find, many of the typical questions have already been answered. For example, we know who owned it - his name was Larry Brown. He recently passed away, and as he had no wife or children to inherit the estate, the car he purchased at Pennsylvania Ford dealer in May of 1969, will be auctioned off by Ron Gilligan Auctioneers.
The car was fastidiously maintained, having never been driven in the rain. In fact, Brown never even washed it, out of fear of it rusting. According to the auction website, the last time this car saw water was probably when it was detailed ahead of being delivered to Brown. If that doesn't sound like a fanatical sense of maintenance on the part of this GT500's owner, this next part will. The interior has been treated to a similarly painstaking attempt at preservation, with garbage bags covering the seats and two layers of floor mats over the carpets. The result is a car that, aesthetically, is in remarkable shape considering it's spent so long in a barn.

2015 Ford Expedition stays the course, adds EcoBoost power

Tue, 18 Feb 2014

The era of the body-on-frame, fullsize SUV is rapidly vanishing in favor of smaller, unibody crossovers. However, Ford still sees life in the segment with the reveal of the updated 2015 Expedition, now available (solely) with the company's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. The new truck will make its public debut at the 2014 DFW Auto Show in Dallas on February 19.
The loss of the previous 5.4-liter V8 in favor of Ford's 3.5-liter, direct-injected, twin-turbocharged V6 engine might rankle some of the Expedition's fans, but Ford claims that the change gives the SUV better fuel economy, more power and increased low-end torque than before. Unfortunately, official engine specifications won't be released until later this year, but Ford says engine output will be similar to the 365 horsepower and 360 pound-feet of torque that this powerplant produces in other applications. The EcoBoost is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, and the SUV now uses electrically assisted power steering, for an even greater fuel economy advantage. Ford claims this also allows for better maneuverability at low speeds and better feel at high speeds.
Exterior styling is basically unchanged for 2015. The front end has the same three-bar chrome grille and headlight design, but the lower air dam gets added chrome and LED lamps. The rear gets more brightwork on the hatch, and there's a chrome-tipped exhaust pipe. As before, Ford is offering the Expedition in two wheelbase lengths - 119 inches and 131 inches. A new, optional, continuously controlled damping system alters suspension settings constantly based on 46 parameters and offers comfort, normal and sport modes (just like the Expedition's sister, the recently refreshed and decidedly less-attractive Lincoln Navigator).

Focus STs for SEMA include Lotus and Gulf liveries, rally-fied police car

Tue, 22 Oct 2013

Ford, as we mentioned on Saturday, is pulling out all the stops for November's SEMA show, bringing 57 vehicles to the Las Vegas event. Ford will be staggering the release of its SEMA flotilla, though, so expect to hear a lot about the new additions to the fleet in the weeks to come. We already showed you the Fiesta, Fiesta ST and Mustang models that made up the first batch of SEMA cars. Next up, we have a quartet of modded Focus STs joining Ford's SEMA roster.
Our first Focus ST (pictured above) sports the legendary livery of Gulf Racing. The orange-on-blue scheme, which Ford helped make famous at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, has been updated for 2013, with a more vibrant blue. This ST was built by Universal Technical Institute, while the exterior was done by Neil Tjin of Tjin Edition. Side exhausts, a Vortech supercharger and a Motiv Concepts high-flow cat allow the ST to breathe a bit easier, while Forgestar wheels contrast well with the iconic paint scheme.
Focus ST number two has been done-up by PM Lifestyle and is inspired by "Southern California car culture." Sporting a sleek, pale blue paint job, there's also no shortage of carbon fiber on the car's exterior. The 2.0-liter, turbocharged, four-cylinder engine has been massaged by the likes of Banks Power, COBB Tuning and Ford Racing, while the suspension is wearing a shiny, new set of coilovers and sway bars. The meaty brakes, tucked behind 19-inch, Rotiform wheels, come from Wilwood, while the cabin has been fitted with a pair of Sparco Chrono seats and five-point, Schroth harnesses.
