YOU ARE LOOKING AT A 2001 FORD ESCAPE LIMITED, ALL WHEEL DRIVE WITH FLEX FUEL. THIS TRUCK HAS AN APPROXIMATE MSRP OF $40,000 OR MORE. I SAW THE SAME ONE ON EBAY WITH THE SAME OPTIONS IN A TWO WHEEL DRIVE AND WITHOUT THE PREMIUM WHEELS AND THE MSRP WAS $36,000 ON THAT ONE. THIS TRUCK HAS AN AMAZING FEATURE, IT PARALLEL PARKS BY ITSELF. YOU SIMPLY PUSH THE AUTO-PARK SYSTEM BUTTON AND IT GUIDES THE CAR INTO THE CORRECT POSITION. YOU CAN SEE THE VIDEO ON YOUTUBE IF YOU WOULD LIKE. IT HAS A BACK-UP CAMERA AS WELL AS MANY OTHER AMAZING OPTIONS. I WOULD RATE THIS TRUCK LIKE SHOWROOM, NEW CONDITION. THERE WAS ONLY ONE OWNER, NON- SMOKING VEHICLE. IT TRULY DRIVES LIKE A BRAND NEW TRUCK RIGHT OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP. THIS BEAUTIFUL SUV CAME TO ME ON A TRADE-IN. IT COMES WITH A REBUILT TITLE. YOU COULD NOT TELL THIS TRUCK HAS EVER EVEN HAD ANY WORK DONE. THE AIRBAGS WERE NOT DEPLOYED. IT WAS BOUGHT FROM AN INSURANCE COMPANY AND IT WAS AN EASY FIX. IF THIS TRUCK IS NOT IN NEAR PERFECT CONDITION TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER AT PICK UP, I WILL REFUND YOUR PLANE FLIGHT HERE AND BACK. DON'T SPEND $26,000 ON A CLEAR TITLE ESCAPE WHEN THIS TRUCK IS IDENTICAL OR EVEN BETTER THAN ONE. THIS IS GOING TO BE A SEVEN DAY NO RESERVE AUCTION AND THE FINAL BIDDER TAKES THIS TRUCK HOME. I AM REQUIRING AN IMMEDIATE $500 DEPOSIT UPON THE COMPLETION OF THE AUCTION AS WELL AS A $200 DOCUMENTATION FEE AS WELL. PLEASE SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY AND IF YOU HAVE NO FEEDBACKS PLEASE MESSAGE ME PRIOR TO BIDDING. IF YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME (KC) AT 248-469-2426. THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCK!!

Shelby American cleans house of 14 concept cars

Wed, 25 Jun 2014

Typically when an automaker rolls out a concept car or pre-production prototype, it does its tour and then disappears into the company's archives. Maybe it will be displayed for the public to see in the company's own museum or maybe it will spend most of its time under covers in a warehouse somewhere, but every once in a while, an automaker will open up its history and start selling off its concept cars. For Shelby American, "once in a while" has just rolled around.
The House that Carroll Built is moving from its previous headquarters at Las Vegas Motor Speedway to a new facility off of the Las Vegas strip, and in the process is liquidating fourteen of the rarest cars in its collection. That presents a tremendous opportunity for muscle car collectors to bring one or more of these snakes home.
As you might expect, the catalog is composed mostly of Mustangs, but not exclusively. There's a pair of 289 Cobras: the last of the 50th anniversary slab-sided continuation cars and an original development vehicle, offered at $200,000 apiece. At the other end of the spectrum you'll find the 2013 Shelby Raptor concept for $125k and Focus concept for $50k. And of course there are the Mustangs.

Ford, Samsung shack up to bring regen braking to non-hybrid models [w/video]

Mon, 09 Jun 2014

Ford must be desperate to get itself ready for the beach this summer because it is really trying to get into shape. Shortly after unveiling the Lightweight Concept that cut the weight of a Fusion down to that of a Fiesta, it's now the rest of the line's turn for improvement. The company is wrapping up a 10-year research project aimed at developing next-gen automotive batteries to improve efficiency.
Ford claims that 70 percent of its lineup will have stop/start tech by 2017. The key to this massive proliferation is its new dual-battery system that combines a lithium-ion battery with a lead-acid one and regenerative braking. The setup works by harvesting braking energy and converting it to electricity. When the vehicle stops, the engine shuts off, but the Li-ion battery has enough juice to keep the accessories running. The engine starts up again as drivers take their foot off the brake. The layout would mean less wasted gas while idling. It's already available on Ford hybrids and is somewhat similar to the i-Eloop capacitor-based system from Mazda.
The bigger challenge is tuning the regenerative braking right. While hybrid drivers may be a little more adventurous, when it comes to getting a hang of regen braking, conventional buyers might not be so open-minded. The systems have a tendency to be a little grabby at first and then taper off at very low speeds. Ford needs to make sure it's just right to avoid turning off buyers.

NHTSA, IIHS, and 20 automakers to make auto braking standard by 2022

Thu, Mar 17 2016

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and virtually every automaker in the US domestic market have announced a pact to make automatic emergency braking standard by 2022. Here's the full rundown of companies involved: BMW, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, Kia, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Volvo (not to mention the brands that fall under each automaker's respective umbrella). Like we reported yesterday, AEB will be as ubiquitous in the future as traction and stability control are today. But the thing to note here is that this is not a governmental mandate. It's truly an agreement between automakers and the government, a fact that NHTSA claims will lead to widespread adoption three years sooner than a formal rule. That fact in itself should prevent up to 28,000 crashes and 12,000 injuries. The agreement will come into effect in two waves. For the majority of vehicles on the road – those with gross vehicle weights below 8,500 pounds – AEB will need to be standard equipment by September 1, 2022. Vehicles between 8,501 and 10,000 pounds will have an extra three years to offer AEB. "It's an exciting time for vehicle safety. By proactively making emergency braking systems standard equipment on their vehicles, these 20 automakers will help prevent thousands of crashes and save lives," said Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx said in an official statement. "It's a win for safety and a win for consumers." Read on for the official press release from NHTSA. Automakers making the commitment are Audi, BMW, FCA US LLC, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, Kia, Maserati, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Porsche, Subaru, Tesla Motors Inc., Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo Car USA.
