2006 Ford Escape Limited Sport Utility 4-door 3.0l on 2040-cars
North Miami Beach, Florida, United States
For sale is my 2006 Ford Escape, specifically a V6 Limited Model. It is front wheel drive. It has sliding moon roof, power driver seat, all power windows, power locks, cd player, all speakers work (there is no crackling or buzzing). Tires are Kelly Safari ATR tires (235/70/16) on 16inch allow rims. All tires have very good thread life, rears (up to nose of Tomas Jefferson on the Nickle) have considerably more than the front (eyes of Jefferson).
Front driver seat has a tear on the bottom and back cushion. Passenger seat has the seems coming loose but can easily be sown back with some strong thread. There is a check engine light on because of a code being thrown ""P0354" (Ignition Coil D Primary/ Secondary Circuit). I replaced it but it didn't change anything. The car idles little rough because that cylinder is not creating spark but once accelerated it drives smooth. Other than that the car is in pretty good condition. I just had it detailed so it is nice and clean for the next owner. Any questions you can contact me at 786 344 8160. My name is Roby. Upon purchasing this car you must pay $92 to the DMV to transfer the title out of my name into your name. As well you must pay 6% sales tax. Other issues such as transfer of license plates, temporary tags, etc. I will assist you in what ever you need to get on the road and going. A $250 non-refundable deposit must be made within 3 days. This Escape is being sold as-is. As eBay rules, eBay motors is a non-binding contract because of the complexity of selling/buying cars due to; laws in certain states, problems with car, and money issues. I may also reject offer if the auction ends below a reasonable price. Meaning either end of buyer/seller may walk away from this non-binding commitment. If seller wishes to walk away, the deposit must be refunded. I may sell this car locally. Disclaimer in case of anything. |

Ford UK exec says EVs are a good way to lose a fortune
Wed, Mar 19 2014Stateside, Ford execs are quick to point out the automaker's expansion in the plug-in sector. And despite a minimal presence in the pure EV space, the Blue Oval has been promoting its plug-in vehicles as part of an overall effort to boost fleetwide fuel economy. Too bad the company's UK chief didn't get the memo. There's "no point in us getting behind [EVs] and losing a fortune" - Ford's Mark Ovenden Mark Ovenden, speaking rather frankly at the Geneva Motor Show recently, said he didn't have real high hopes for substantial electric-vehicle adoption and said the company's money was better spent on smaller gas- and diesel-powered engines, the UK's Daily Mail says. Ovenden said of EV development that there was "no point in us getting behind it and losing a fortune," adding that his goal was to have variants of Ford's EcoBoost engine in 40 percent of the company's vehicles. Ford has about a 15-percent market share in the UK. The UK doesn't appear to be as kind to the EV as the US. Nissan last year cut the price of its all-electric Leaf there last year by about $4,000, while the company rolled out a promotion for the Leaf late last year, including allowing Leaf drivers to borrow a gas- or diesel-powered Nissan for free for as long as two weeks a year during the first three years of Leaf ownership. In the US, Ford sold just 229 Ford Focus Electrics during the first two months of the year after moving 1,738 units in 2013.
Mustang GT350 reveal coming Nov 17?
Mon, 03 Nov 2014Ford looks to have something really big planned for the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. The Blue Oval has released the first of five teaser videos on the brand's performance heritage, and aside from some great images of racers over the years, the video includes a series of teaser images, the last of which points to November 17, 2014.
That's the day before press days open in LA, and considering the propensity of global automakers to plan lavish debuts the night before a major international auto show, it's a virtual certainty that Ford will be showing off some sort of special vehicle.
That'd be news in and of itself, but based on the images shown in Ford's teaser video - which include an Alcantara steering wheel, a "Powered by Ford" valve cover, aluminum pedals, sticky tires, a big, round exhaust tip, a honeycomb grille and a serious set of wheels - it seems very likely that Ford will be showing something performance oriented.
Ford Q3 pretax profits drop to $1.18B
Fri, 24 Oct 2014Following positive third quarter financial results recently from General Motors, rival Ford took a tumble in Q3. The automaker posted pre-tax profits of $1.18 billion, compared to about $2.59 billion in Q3 2013, a drop of around 54 percent. Net income also suffered with $835 million made in the quarter, versus $1.272 billion last year, a decline of about 34 percent. The Blue Oval blamed the gloomy figures on three reasons in its release: "lower volume, higher warranty costs and adverse balance sheet exchange effects."
There were problems of one kind or another in practically every region. North America experienced higher warranty costs than expected, partially due to recalls. The sales volume for the quarter was 665,000 units, versus 725,000 in Q3 2013, and pre-tax results amounted to $1.41 billion versus $2.296 billion last year.
South America and Europe both posted worse pre-tax results than last year. On the bright side, European volume was up slightly to 321,000 vehicles, from 303,000 in Q3 2013. The Middle East and Africa also lost $15 million, but that was an improvement compared to the $25 million loss previously experienced in this region.
