Vehicle just came in. As GM of the dealership, I've been driving this Escape for the last week. With 4 new tires, this SUV drives like a new one. Autocheck reports that there have been ONLY TWO OWNERS. THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN A CALIFORNA VEHICLE, NO RUST. NO ACCIDENTS reported or noted in our inspection. This is really a well taken care of vehicle that shows a lot of pride of ownership. Most of these Escapes in this condition are selling for $5,900 on Autotrader and Craigslist. You are welcome to come by our dealership and inspect this vehicle. Please no phone calls and no knocking on our door to open the vehicle or take test drives. If we show you the vehicle on the lot, the selling price is $5,900. We won't accept your bid from EBAY if we show you the vehicle. You can go to EBAY and BUY NOW for $4,900. Most likely it will sell for close to $5,900 but it's your gamble. We have a 100% rating on EBAY. Currently smogged the first time thru, meaning the engine is still solid and we did a Diagnostic tested and the engine and transmission meet manufacturers specifications. The Automatic Transmission shifts smoothly. The vehicle looks near new and has 4 near new BFGoodrich tires on the vehicle. Sweet! Drives like a near new car. Currently registered. This is a great buy. We can also put an 3 month / 3,000 mile Warranty on this vehicle at an extra cost of $300 to you. Some people like the extra piece of mind of having a Warranty. This warranty is good anywhere in the U.S. You can check out this beautiful Escape at our Dealer, located at 630 So. Glassell St. Orange, CA 92866 Please don't think that we don't want to sell the vehicle. Understand that at our ridiculously low price of $4,900, we will have at least 700 -800 people looking at this car on EBAY. We do not have the manpower to show the car to 700 people and sell it at the cheap price that it is advertised for. Please bid with confidence. We have a 100% satisfaction rating with EBAY. We also offer a 2 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE, option. NO QUESTIONS ASKED !! Good luck. Phillips Auto Inc.

Toyota fears supplier pressure in Australia with GM pull out
Wed, 11 Dec 2013With Ford and General Motors both announcing an end to production in Australia, the country's auto industry is in a bad way. With the exit of two big players, there's increased concern that a third Australian manufacturer, Toyota, will be forced out, as well.
"We are saddened to learn of GM Holden's decision. This will place unprecedented pressure on the local supplier network and our ability to build cars in Australia," Toyota Australia said in a statement. The GM closure of Holden production will be the direct end to 2,900 jobs, but will also force a dramatic reduction in the size of the country's supplier network, as there will simply be fewer cars to build.
In the same statement, Toyota Australia said it would work with suppliers and local government to figure out whether continuing production Down Under was even feasible. According to Automotive News, a representative for the Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union told reporters it was "highly likely" that Toyota would also close up shop within the next few years.
National Geographic Channel balances Ford F-150 on four coffee mugs
Wed, 29 Jan 2014Proving that there is still something to be learned on television these days, National Geographic Channel recently introduced a new series called Duck Quacks Don't Echo. On the first episode of this science/comedy show, host Michael Ian Black proposes the idea that a truck can be supported with a ceramic coffee mug under each wheel - yes, he says that the entire weight of a truck can be balanced on just four coffee mugs.
Looking to find out whether this is fact or myth, the show uses a regular cab Ford F-150, weighing in at 4,800 pounds, and four average coffee mugs. Lowered onto the mugs, the idea is quickly put to the test. Can the cups hold up under 4,800 pounds? If so, what, exactly, would it take to break them? Scroll down below to find out.
2015 Ford Focus gets more Aston-y [w/video]
Tue, 04 Mar 2014With more and more members of the Ford brand adopting a new familial face, the Focus has been left looking like an odd man out. At the Geneva Auto Show, though, it properly rejoined the family, adopting the now familiar Aston Martin-ish grille that's proliferated throughout the range.
Overall, we're liking the refreshed Focus' look. Aside from the new grille, the headlights have been restyled and now look like elongated versions of the lamps on the Focus ST. Functionally, those headlamps are bi-xenon units, complete with an adaptive front lighting system. Out back, the rear retains the same overall look, which has been smoothed out for 2015.
In the cabin, the second-generation of Ford's much-maligned Sync system makes its debut. Sync 2, as it's called, is supposedly more intuitive than the first-gen system. Ford is promising "one-shot" navigation functions for the system. Saying "I'm hungry," should bring up a list of nearby restaurants. Of course, we'll be reserving final judgment until we can test the new system in person.
