up for sale is a nice ford e150 Sherrod conversion van, loaded with options runs and drives great, florida van used for trips to and from florida up 95 to Rhode Island in summers. Van runs great been gone thru and very reliable. New tires, battery, all hoses and belts changed recently, major tune-up with all new coil packs, spark plugs, brakes whatever it needed it was done. great smooth Ford Triton v/8 engine very quiet, has towing pkg, all books and manuels in factory pouch, power driver seat, power windows , cruise, am/fm disc/cassette, tilt wheel, wood tone dash accents, all pull down window shades work smooth, rear entertainment, interior very clean no stains on carpet, leather seats in good condition couple of marks but overall clean condition , normal wear and tear. Very comfortable to drive and would drive anywhere with confidence, nice True Blue metallic with gold accents , two tone brown and tan interior, paint is still shinny but some clear coat peeling in some spots but looks presentable, raised roof could use repainting (clear coat peeled most up top) (common problem in florida) had it touched up looks ok. Being a florida van no rust on body or under carriage. Only reason selling now retired and not going to be going back and forth anymore so it will just sit most of the time. Still using it for short trips. Any questions you can call and I will answer them as honestly I can. I priced it fair but open to reasonable offers, Thanks 407 729-9477

Child cobalt miners: Automakers pledge ethical minerals sourcing for EVs
Wed, Nov 29 2017BERLIN - Leading carmakers including Volkswagen and Toyota pledged on Wednesday to uphold ethical and socially responsible standards in their purchases of minerals for an expected boom in electric vehicle production. Demand for minerals such as cobalt, graphite and lithium is forecast to soar in the coming years as governments crack down on vehicle pollution and carmakers step up their investments in electric models. To cover its plans for more than 80 new models by 2025, Volkswagen alone is looking for partners in China, Europe and North America to provide battery cells and related technology worth more than 50 billion euros ($59 billion). Talks with major cobalt producers, including Glencore, at VW's Wolfsburg headquarters last week ended without a deal. More than half of the world's cobalt comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country racked by political instability and legal opacity, and where child labor is used in mines. On Wednesday, a group of 10 leading passenger-car and truck manufacturers announced an initiative to jointly identify and address ethical, environmental, human and labor rights issues in raw materials sourcing. The partnership dubbed "Drive Sustainability" consists of VW, Toyota Motor Europe, Ford, Daimler, BMW, Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo Cars and truckmakers Scania and Volvo. The alliance "will assess the risks posed by the top raw materials (such as mica, cobalt, rubber and leather) in the automotive sector," said Stefan Crets of the CSR Europe business network. "This will allow Drive Sustainability to identify the most impactful activities to pursue" to address issues within the supply chain.Reporting by Andreas Cremer.Related Video: Image Credit: Michael Robinson Chavez/The Washington Post via Getty Images Green BMW Ford Honda Jaguar Land Rover Mercedes-Benz Automakers Toyota Volkswagen Volvo Green Automakers Green Culture Electric Scania ethics mining
Ford adding stop-start to all major model lines
Sun, 24 Nov 2013Ford has gone all-in on its efforts to offer most of its new vehicles with a fuel-efficient EcoBoost engine, but the automaker is reportedly preparing to take another big step toward improving vehicle efficiency. Automotive News is reporting that Ford will soon expand the availability of start-stop technology, which was first offered - presumably the first non-hybrid vehicle, that is - on the 2013 Fusion (equipped with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine) as a $295 option.
The benefit of start-stop is reduced fuel consumption as it shuts the engine off at long stops, and AN quotes Ford as saying that drivers can save more than $1,000 on fuel costs over five years. Despite this, the option hasn't been popular on the Fusion thus far, but it could be more beneficial on bigger vehicles like the F-150. Ford also said that the next-gen Edge, which was previewed in concept form at the LA Auto Show, will be equipped with auto start-stop to help make the EcoBoost engines even more efficient.
