I have to sell my 1990 Diesel 4x4 van due to a new family member (short, and he eats a lot). This is a automatic 7.3 liter e30 that was built with a Quigley 4x4 suspension to be used by the Cherokee indian reservation in North Carolina as a back country ambulance. They rarely used it, and I bought it for 5000 with very low miles and sent it to Fleet Services where I spent 2700.00 on new belts, batteries, injectors, glow plugs etc. I then stripped out all of the hospital gear leaving only the AC/heat, sirens, PA, AC/DC converter and radio. I then rebuilt it to have two fron seats, a jump seat in the back for a third seat belted passenger, a couch that makes into a queen bed, and a lot of storage. It also has a buddy indoor propane heater, and a propane suitcase cook stove that stows for travel. It has a Titan trailer hitch and tows my jeep while fully loaded at 55-65 fairly easily (designed not to exceed 67 mph). Normally I have a DC cooler that fits in there but I left it in Chicago full of beer on my last trip in September. I have it listed for 6500 on craigslist in New Orleans (where I am now) but since everyone who calls wants a 2009 for 6500, or wants to trade, or make payments I figured I would try my luck on ebay. I will set the reserve at 3500, happy bidding. (PS if the economy collapses and you buy this I may want to buy it back so I can convert one of the tanks to run on WVO/ waste oil).

1914 Ford Model T at Historic Greenfield Village | AutoblogVR
Tue, Sep 6 2016We drive all of the newest and most sophisticated cars, but a 102-year-old Ford is one of our recent favorites. Senior Editor Alex Kierstein headed to historic Greenfield Village in Dearborn, MI, to learn to drive a Model T in the latest AutoblogVR segment. Kierstein picks up the Model T fairly quickly, despite its controls. Though they were designed more than a century ago to be simple and easy to use, driving a Model T is complicated and counter-intuitive to the modern motorist. But by the end of his lesson, Kierstein has it all figured out and is enjoying himself. In our other new segment, Detroit Manufacturing, Senior Editor Greg Migliore showcases the city''s industrial might. He tours a modern Fiat Chrysler factory that churns out Dodge Durangos and Jeep Grand Cherokees and then wanders the ruins of the mythical Packard Plant. There's also some tasty and unexpected twists in this VR episode. Each week, new episodes will launch on the AutoblogVR App. We'll preview them here on Autoblog, but for the full immersive experience, head over to the app, which you can download for free from the App store and Google Play. Be sure to try it with a cardboard viewer, too! Ford Jeep Automotive History Driving Classics Videos VR Original Video Detroit ford model t tour 360video
Four Wheeler crowns Ultimate Factory 4x4... who wins?
Thu, 15 Nov 2012Nearly every automaker doing business in the SUV or pickup truck segments offers a package designed to improve the off-road capabilities of its wares. But, of course, not all such factory kits are created equal. How, then, to separate the wheat from the chaff? Gather each of them up and put them through their paces, naturally.
The folks from Four Wheeler and PickupTrucks.com joined forces to run just such a comparison test, with the winner named the Ultimate Factory 4x4. A total of seven vehicles showed up to the fight: the 2012 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, 2012 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X and Xterra PRO-4X, 2012 Ram Power Wagon, and 2012 Toyota 4Runner Trail and Tacoma TRD T|X Baja Series.
With the contestants in place, the whole crew put each vehicle through a battery of tests that included skidpad and acceleration measurements, a hillclimb, a rocky stairstep course and a rock garden. Considering the nature of the beasts, on-road ride and comfort were not part of the routine.
This 1969 Ford F-100 has a Cadillac CTS-V engine lurking underhood
Fri, Jan 30 2015Something always feels just a little taboo when someone builds a custom and then slots in a powertrain from a rival automaker. That's exactly the case with this modded 1969 Ford F-100 boasting a highly tuned LSA supercharged V8 like from the second-gen Cadillac CTS-V. However, with a claimed 800 horsepower on tap thanks in part to running an estimated 20 pounds of boost, it's easy to get over any bad feelings. Built by Tommy Pike Customs in South Carolina, the truck tries to keep the exterior looking somewhat stock. Although, the jade green and satin gold paint, Quaker State logo, lowered suspension and black wheels immediately suggest something is up. Once the F-100 starts up with its menacing growl, absolutely any doubts of this beast being unaltered are immediately gone. Not so obvious are some tweaks to actually help put all that power down, including disc brakes and independent suspension setups at the front and rear. The video gives some glimpses at a few of Pike's other creations, but the real star here is definitely his mean, green Ford.
