The transport company went bankrupt and I acquired it through bankruptcy auction. This van needs two oxygen sensors ($45 each). It has a dent in the rear bumper from a previous low-speed collision of some kind. Both front seats show wear (noticed when I removed the aftermarket seat covers). The handicap lift has a max lift capacity of 600 lbs. The rear handicap door's locking mechanism shows a damage from the door being repeatedly shut hard against the lift. The airbag dashboard warning light turns on and off by itself. The engine, however, runs fantastically. It sounds good; it runs good; it really drives like an authentic Ford workhorse. It just wants to work. Local NAPA certified mechanic says it needs to have the front wheels balanced ($150); but noted after test driving it that it runs very strong given it's mileage....it's highway mileage."

I have a 2007 Ford E-350 Super Duty XL w/rear handicap lift (600lbs max) with 360,000 miles for sale. I'm asking $6500 or best offer. This van was owned by a medical transport company that went belly up. I got it through auction. I know it's got a lot of miles, but these are highway miles (given that the company was a transport outfit) so the engine isn't as stressed as the mileage suggests. The rear bumper is dented and can be hammered out. It's a good E-350. It will cost $17,000 to install a similar handicap lift on a comparable vehicle; given this vehicle's mileage, you're getting a severe discount when you factor in the cost of the installed rear hydraulic lift. This motor purrs like a cat and will give you another 100,000 miles+ if you simply keep to a routine maintenance schedule. However, this van today needs to have two upstream oxygen sensors replaced. Each sensor costs about $45 and is as easy to install as are spark plugs. It will be your van...so I think I'll let YOU spend the $90. The engine operates fantastically. Turn it on and it's as quite as the day it was when it rolled off the Ford assembly line. This van is perfect for the user in need of a private handicap transport vehicle. It was owned by a private transport outfit who used it extensively; it can now serve you as your personal handicap transport vehicle.  Or, it's a good van to customize to your needs, including removing the lift itself for resale if you want to cheapen the ultimate cost of the van for yourself. Two or three long canoes, or even your bikes, can easily fit inside the belly of this cavernous beast. Check the pictures out....what's your call?

Ford recalls 1.3 million Fusions, MKZs: Steering wheels could come off

Wed, Mar 14 2018

When driving a car, the steering wheel is only expected to move in a rotational fashion, either clockwise or counter-clockwise. When it moves in some other direction, something is wrong, and when it moves the wrong way enough that it is no longer attached to the steering column, that's a really, really bad thing. And apparently, according to a recall issued by Ford, there are over 1.3 million Ford Fusions and Lincoln MKZs that are at risk of this happening. And at least two accidents and one injury have been attributed to the issue. Ford says the problem is that the steering wheel bolt that keeps the wheel attached to the column might not provide enough torque, resulting in the bolt slowly loosening and working its way off the column. The good news is that the fix is really simple. Ford will install a larger bolt with more threads along with a larger nylon patch to keep it all locked down. The fix is completely free to owners. Cars affected by the recall include 2014 to 2017 Fusions built built at the Flat Rock plant in Michigan between August 6, 2013, and February 29, 2016. Model year 2014-2018 Fusions and MKZs built at the Hermosillo factory in Mexico are also affected. So if you have one of those sedans, please get in touch with your local dealer to have the issue addressed. Related Video:

Ford Australia reveals updated Territory, Falcon via Twitter

Mon, 28 Jul 2014

Ford may have tied together much of its global lineup under the One Ford campaign, but one market where it still offers unique products is Australia. That will soon draw to a close as well, but before it does, the Blue Oval's Aussie operations are rolling out refreshed versions of its two unique products. For the moment, Ford isn't revealing much in the way of powertrain details, but it has shown off a couple of snaps of the revised products on its in-market Twitter feed.
First up is the new Territory. The SUV is neither based on a front-drive crossover platform nor on a truck frame, but shares its rear-drive underpinnings with the Falcon, taking it a step beyond the Falcon wagon alongside which it sits in Ford's Aussie range. Like the outgoing third-generation SZ Territory, the facelifted version is dominated by a narrow grille and larger front air dam, but further punctuates its big-chinned look with more rugged lower cladding and other metallic inserts that bring its look up to date.
And there's the Falcon, which Ford revealed in XR8 trim just last week and is now presenting in G6E spec. If the XR8 is the performance model, the G6E is the luxury version, swapping in more refined trim like a chrome-slat grille (instead of a black honeycomb), chrome foglamp surrounds, less-aggressive multi-spoke wheels (instead of five-spokes) and a flatter hood (instead of a power bulge). Otherwise, it looks essentially the same as the one we saw last week, its facelift bringing it more in line with the smaller, front-drive Mondeo (which we know here as the Fusion) and other members of the Ford family.

The 1965 Ford Mustang could have looked a lot different

Fri, May 8 2020

The 1965 Ford Mustang is unquestionably an automotive design icon, and nearly every generation of Mustang has some connection to that original car. Because it's such a universally-known vehicle, we were amazed to see all the different designs that were being considered. Head of Ford's archives Ted Ryan recently shared photos of design proposals for the original Mustang on Twitter that he and Jamie Myler found, and we reached out to them to find out more. As Ryan initially noted, the photos were taken on August 19, 1962, and they are proposals for the Ford Mustang. Apparently Ford had committed to doing a Falcon-based youth-oriented car at this point, and it did have plans to launch the car in 1964 for the 1965 model year. But after having little success with early design proposals, the company asked all of its design studios — the Advanced Studio, Lincoln-Mercury Studio and Ford Studio — to submit proposals. With only about two years before the planned launch, Ford was understandably short on time, and it's believed that the studios only had a month to create and present these designs. Lincoln-Mercury design proposal View 8 Photos The majority of the designs, a total of five, came from the Advanced Studio, and part of this was because they already had a couple of concept designs in reserve it could present. Two other models representing three design possibilities came from Lincoln-Mercury, and just one model with two options came from Ford. The Advanced Studio proposals are shown in the gallery at the very top of this article, and the Lincoln-Mercury and Ford proposals are in the gallery directly above this paragraph. The Advanced Studio's most radical design is the one that was clearly related to the Mustang I concept that would be shown later that year with huge wraparound rear glass, turbine-inspired bumpers and enormous side scoops. The other proposals from the studio were more conservative, featuring simple lines, grilles reminiscent of the Falcon, and one even borrowing the jet-thruster-style taillights made famous on the Thunderbird. Lincoln-Mercury had some impressively bold designs, particularly its fastback that had buttresses to extend the shape all the way to the tail. This car had two different side trim possibilities. The other Lincoln-Mercury design was toned down a bit, but had two interesting possibilities for side detailing, as well as some crisp, low-profile tail fins.
