If you've been searching for a vehicle to pull your horse trailer and carry the family and all the gear and your V8 isn't getting the job done, than my 98 Ford E-350 Chateau that has the powerful V10, seats 7 and has just 129k is for you.

Mechanically this van is strong. Motor sounds healthy through all the RPM's. Transmission shifts just as it should with no slipping. Tires are like new Firestones all the way around with about 97% tread left. Drives down the road well and is ready to go anywhere. A/C is ice cold. All the electronics work as they should. Has a good PA inspection until 12/13.

Cosmetically this Chateau is incredibly clean for a 98. Interior is fresh, clean and smells good. Never smoked in. Seats are intact and not blown out.  Paint shines beautifully in the sun. Body is nice and straight with the exception of a ding up high in the back corner by the door. Has a scratch on the passenger side lower panel behind the rear wheel that a couple inches long. The rear bumper has some chrome pealing. Other than that the body is in well above average shape for the year. Was definitely garage kept and well cared for all around. Underneath is nice as well for the age. Has a little typical PA light surface rust here or there but no rot of any sort.

Overall you will not find a cleaner 98 club wagon. Well cared for inside and out. If you need to pull the boat this summer this is the perfect vehicle to get the job done in comfort with the whole family. If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call at 717-823-3349. My name is Zach. If you would like to see the van in person please call and make an appointment. This van is being sold by Platinum Car and Truck Sales, LLC in Elizabethtown, PA. For in state buyers PA sales tax and other fees are not included. How Ford's light lab keeps the sun shining on the new Mustang just right [w/video]

Thu, 02 Jan 2014

Anyone who's bought one of those old school metal shift knobs knows they're really cool until they sit in a parking lot in the sun for a few hours. Then they're not cool at all. Likewise, features such as the aluminum dash on the 2015 Ford Mustang can be all kinds of neat right up until the sun hits it just the right way and sends shards of blinding light through the cabin. The Ford Visual Performance and Evaluation Lab is where engineers figure out how to make sure that doesn't happen.
Cars like said Mustang are parked inside the 30-foot reflecting dome under 6,000 watts of lights that can mimic the sun at any time of day and in any weather condition. Engineers can then spend cold, overcast days inside, testing for interior legibility, glare and reflections on every interior and exterior surface as if it were bright and sunny. They can also learn how a car's sheetmetal and colors will look out of doors, all year round.
Ford showed off the lighting lab without the music and interviews three years ago when the Explorer was being prepared. You can watch it at work again in the video below, and read about it in the press release below that.

Woman trades 1914 Model T in for 2013 Corvette

Wed, 17 Apr 2013

We're sure that dealers must see all sorts of interesting trade ins, but this one may take the cake. Red River Chevrolet in Bossier City, Louisiana, recently had a customer come in with an odd request. Tina Boyter wanted to trade in three vehicles on a brand-new 2013 Chevy Corvette. Among the hardware was 1980 Corvette, a 1978 Cadillac Eldorado and a 1914 Ford Model T. While the '80 Corvette had been her personal car for years, the '78 Eldorado had belonged to Boyter's mother before she traded up to a Lincoln. The big Caddy had just 10,290 miles on the clock when it was traded in.
And the Model T? Boyter says the car was built as a racer by Ford, and that it had been a show winner for years when it belonged to her father. But, after spending the last 16 years in a museum with its fluids drained, Boyter decided it was time to shed some of the past. She walked into the dealer, laid eyes on a white 2LT Corvette with a red interior and offered to trade all three of the vehicles in on the sports car.
Why not wait for the C7? "I fell in love with that one when I walked in the door," She said. We can't fault her there.

VW going turbo-only in 3 to 4 years

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

This really was a matter of when, rather than if. Volkswagen will apparently be the first manufacturer to phase out naturally aspirated engines in favor of turbocharging its full slate. VW is kind of responsible for ushering in this push towards small-displacement, turbocharged engines that's taken the industry by storm. When it dropped its direct-injection, 2.0-liter turbo in the 2005 GTI it demonstrated that strapping an iron long to an engine can enhance the powertrain as a whole. VW made fuel economy gains, while also giving a linear, non-laggy turbo experience that it has replicated, model-after-model, to this day.
Speaking with The Detroit News, Volkswagen's executive Vice President of Group Quality, Marc Trahan, told the paper that, "We only have one normally aspirated gas engine, and when we go to the next generation vehicle that it's in, it will be replaced. So three, four years maximum."
Really, it's hard to get teary-eyed about either of these engines going away. VW has access to smaller powerplants that could easily match the performance of the 2.5 five-cylinder and the 3.6 V6, while gobbling up less fuel and providing a better driving experience. What we are sad about is that a similar statement about the extinction of NA engines came from the Vice President of Powertrain Engineering at Ford, Joe Bakaj. We'd certainly get teary-eyed over a world without Ford's excellent 5.0-liter V8.
