I am selling my 1994 Ford E-150 Conversion Van. My wife and i are now at the end of our great American road trip and looking at heading back home to Australia soon. We purchased this three months ago and has been a great car. Its the v6 4.9lt model so it has a great balance of power and economy.
The condition of the van is commensurate with it's age, there are signs of general wear and tear. Mechanically, it is in very good condition. We've travelled some 10,000 miles and have not encountered any problems. The previous owner was a mechanic and the van has travelled only 114,000 miles, which is pretty good considering it's age - it doesn't miss a beat. It has two captain's chairs in the front (some stitching is coming apart at the seams - easy to sew back together) and a rear bench seat which has been folded down into a double bed.
I've listed below the only issues we've encountered:
* Two chips in the windscreen - these have been covered with windscreen stickers to avoid it cracking
* The rear bench seat is controlled electronically, however it doesn't currently have a switch. This never bothered us as we only ever used it to sleep on whilst camping. It can be folded back up by using an external power source (e.g. we dropped it down in the first place by using a battery),
* The rear door does not currently open. The cable latch to fix this costs $30 from O'Reily's. We've simply been to busy to bother fixing it.
* The airconditioning needs to be re-gassed.
When we purchased the car, we installed four brand new Goodyear tires, so they are no more than three months old (we have the receipt for this). We also purchased an 'emergency kit' which includes brand new heavy duty jack, wheel brace, tire inflator, radiator stop leak, basic tool kit - none of this was ever used, and will come with the car. We will also leave our camping gear, which includes two sleeping bags, pillows, ice box, etc.
This van has been very good to us during our time on the road and can confidently say that it is a reliable vehicle. We've priced it to sell, however we will consider all reasonable offers. Ford Ranger-based 7-seat SUV spotted testing
Wed, 29 May 2013Ford looks to be working on a new SUV version of its global Ranger pickup truck. An early prototype of a seven-passenger SUV based on the Ranger has been spotted testing in Australia, and word has it buyers in the region could expect to see the model in showrooms as soon as 2014, where it could sail under the Endeavour or Everest badges. Ford Australia currently sells the Territory SUV, so there's some chance that this model could be a successor to that throne, as well.
Whatever it's called, the long-roof Ranger will feature a shorter wheelbase and more ground clearance than its pickup twin, giving the machine a bit more off-road functionality. (And here we thought we couldn't want the global Ranger any more than we already do.) While this particular vehicle sports a Territory back half grafted onto a Ranger front end, odds are a public reveal of the finished product could occur as soon as the second half of 2014, making it a 2015 model. Next Ford Raptor spotted wearing aluminum skin
Wed, 07 May 2014Well, look at what we have here. Judging from these spy shots, Ford is indeed working on the next generation of its off-road-ready F-150 Raptor pickup truck. We've made no attempt to hide our appreciation for the Baja-style truck, which combines most of the usability of a fullsize truck with heavy-duty suspension components to make a kind of performance vehicle that is unique in the market.
What we haven't known, until now, is whether Ford would push forward with its Raptor program now that it has a completely new F-150 to serve as its base. And that's especially true since Ford made the bold move of switching the bodywork of its best-seller from tried-and-true steel to aluminum. As you can see above, the front and rear of this silver truck are clad in current-gen Raptor bodywork, while the center section that houses the occupants appears to come from the upcoming 2015 F-150.
Dissecting the views above, we note a few interesting tidbits. First, there looks to be a bulge in the truck's hood. Second, we see a new grille between the current Raptor's headlights, sporting a mesh finish and two horizontal bars. Lastly, our eyes can't help but lock in on those burly A-arm suspension pieces down below, not to mention all that ground clearance the specialty suspenders bring to the table.

Made by Caddyshack Golf Cars, it features officially licensed Ford badging borrowed from the super-macho pickup. It has a lifted chassis with leaf springs in the front and rear, hydraulic shocks and off-road tires. Powered by a 48-volt motor, it can do 0-25 mph in 2.9 seconds. Range is an estimated 30 miles - plenty to get you through 18 of the most rugged holes of golf you've ever played. Caddyshack also offers other miniature electric Fords, including a Shelby GT500, Shelby Cobra and 50th Anniversary Mustang. Read more at Green Car Reports. Lexus takes a crack at the BMW i3 in a new video from Funny or Die. In the decidedly anti-EV film, a group of guys drives to Las Vegas for a "dad-chelor party" in a Lexus CT 200h and a BMW i3. The Lexus hybrid makes it to Sin City without any problems, while the BMW's occupants need to make several lengthy stops to charge along the way, missing much of the fun. The video lampoons the inherent range limitations of the EV (the BMW group ends up driving slowly through the desert with no AC or radio to save energy), all in a well produced, if somewhat misguided, short comedy film. Students from ETH Zurich and Lucerne University have set a new EV acceleration world record. Their "Grimsel" racing car was able to zoom from 0-100 kph (0-62.137 mph) in just 1.785 seconds in less than 30 meters (98.425 feet), crushing the previous record of 2.134 seconds. Even more impressive is that the Grimsel was built by the students themselves, as part of the Formula Student team at the Academic Motorsports Club Zurich. The car weighs just 370 pounds and provides 200 horsepower and 1,202 pound feet of torque from the four hub motors. The Grimsel uses traction control to manage torque for maximum acceleration. The vehicle accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.785 seconds in under 30 metres.
