1989 Ford 8-passenger (8 seat belts) van. Bucket seats front (2) & middle (2). Fold-down rear seat (2 passenger front facing, 2 passenger rear facing).
460 cu in gasoline V8, surround tinted glass, passenger sliding door, dual barn-style rear doors w/rear mount tire. Has 124K mi. 1-owner.

The body sits on the standard Ford 12-passenger E-350 Super Duty chassis and is fully loaded w/electric windows (the driver's side window recently stopped working) & locks, cruise control, tilt steering wheel, front and rear factory heat and air conditioning, AM/FM stereo system, upgraded XLT interior, 2-tone burgundy/silver exterior, towing package w/Class UV heavy duty Class hitch, running boards, dual/auxiliary tank, etc.

I bought it new, towed a 32' travel trailer and boat for several years. Used it as a standard driving vehicle with 4 kids for years. Then had an accident that the insurance totaled (salvage title), damage was to the grill front fender, hood, driver door and side body - no damage to frame, suspension, or drive train. I still have all the invoices showing the repair of the damage.

It was primarily stored after it was repaired. Clean interior, no tears in red velour upholstery, headliner, or carpet. However, the interior sliding door inside panel is separating, will need several new snap-on plastic connectors to hold it in place.

It is on non-op status (since 92) and will need the fees (~$80) to be paid to bring it out of non-op to current registration - thru Sept '13 (smog not required for me to do this). However on a transfer/sale, a smog test will be required and it has a right side exhaust manifold leak that will likely not pass the "visual" part of the smog test until fixed, as the passenger side exhaust manifold leak sound is noticeable.

In addition to that, the last time I drove it (6-months ago) it ran but stalled out (lack of fuel) until I waited for 1 min to restart it and drove it back up the driveway. Maybe the fuel pump, gas-line/filter, or fuel tank switchover issue?

This is a hard to find nearly one-of-a-kind 1 Ton Super Club Wagon that includes a workhorse drive train, brake system and suspension. You can use it to pull a travel trailer (or horse trailer), comfortably travel with your large family, or strip out the back seats and carry your dirt bikes to the trails in comfort and security.

2015 Ford F-150 configurator is ready to go to work

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

Ford is inching towards the on-sale date for the eagerly anticipated, aluminum F-150 pickup. While we're preparing to drive the new truck (expect our take on it sooner rather than later), the best-seller has reached another, albeit more minor, milestone as its online configurator has officially been switched on.
We took to Ford's consumer website to mess about with it and see just how ridiculous of a truck we can build. Among the fun things we discovered were these two nuggets - the most expensive truck we could configure was not the top-end Platinum model, but instead the King Ranch, which rang up at $65,955. The other exciting discovery? The new truck would be available in a questionable shade called Blue Jeans (shown above with the optional contrasting Caribou paint). Yep, Blue Jeans.
You can head over to Ford's consumer page and build your very own aluminum F-150 now. Take a look.

James May picks 13 most significant cars ever for London Classic Car Show

Fri, Jan 2 2015

James May tends to be the most pragmatic of the Top Gear UK hosting crew. Jeremy Clarkson obviously likes his vehicles loud, brash and preferably British, and Richard Hammond seems to have a thing for American muscle. May appears to find joy just in the mechanical nature of things, whether high performance or simply made for getting around. He's getting a chance to put that appreciation on display by curating a 13-car collection at the London Classic Car Show called The Cars That Changed The World. May actually wants to provoke debate from visitors about the exhibit and is separating his choices into two categories: The Halls of Obviousness and The Chambers of Bloody-mindedness. The first bunch includes the usual important vehicles you expect to see, but the other group has the really interesting picks. As May explains these selections in the event announcement, "I believe they are just as significant historically but they've simply been forgotten or misunderstood." The obvious choices are: 1886 Benz Motorwagen 1908 Ford Model T 1938 Volkswagen Beetle 1959 Austin Mini 1964 Ford Mustang 1997 Toyota Prius And the more eccentric ones are: 1901 Waverley Electric 1906 Cadillac Model K 1933 Standard Superior 1972 Honda Civic 1980 Lada Riva 2009 Bruno ExoMars Rover If you notice, there are only 12 vehicles listed above. That's because the final one is being kept secret for show attendees, but May considers it the most significant car ever made. The London Classic Car Show runs at the ExCeL in London's Docklands from January 8-11, 2015. In addition to May's exhibit and the other vehicles there, Formula 1 designer Adrian Newey is also curating a display from his own collection. May is hoping to spur conversations with his choices. Let us know in Comments if you notice any glaring omissions that should be among the 13. Read the full announcement below, along with a brief explanation for each choice from May. GET READY FOR A CLASSIC ARGUMENT 30/12/14 James May has chosen the 13 most significant cars of all time for The London Classic Car Show... but is he right? It's bold, controversial and bound to cause arguments... and that's just the way BBC Top Gear's James May wants it. May has stuck his neck on the line and has chosen what he regards are the 13 most influential cars of all time. The result is The Cars That Changed The World and it's one of the star exhibits at the London Classic Car Show taking place at ExCeL in London's Docklands from 8-11 January 2015.

Ford GT40 makes historic return to racing at Goodwood

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

Is there a more iconic, American racecar than the Ford GT40? That may be a discussion for another day (although by all means, tell us how wrong we are in Comments), but this video of heaps of GT40s running in the Goodwood Revival races certainly has us thinking that Ford's Ferrari-killer might just be the best racer the Land Of The Free and Home Of The Brave has ever come up with.
That's completely ignoring the fact that the GT40 was largely developed by Brits using American money, but that's besides the point (there was also a rather brash Texan, who had a big role later in development). The resulting vehicle was dominant, besting the cars of Il Commendatore from 1966 to 1969, although it should be noted that Ford's GT40 was unable to beat Ferrari in its first two Le Mans outings in 1964 and 1965.
Those four years of dominance, which started with Ford sweeping the podium, were enough to establish the GT40's legend. And now, here we are almost 50 years later, celebrating the mid-engined monsters at Goodwood, in their first ever one-make race. Take a look below for the entire video.
