-Mechanical- Van is equipped with a Ford Mustang 302, Edelbrock 4 barrel Carburetor and MSD ignition. Starts right up and sounds great! Idles great, responsive on the pedal and does not blow smoke. The transmission is not working. It was recently rebuilt, but the owner decided to put his own torque converter on. By doing so the proper fluid or to much may have caused the damage. It will not go in to any gear. I was told by the guy who rebuilt it, that the transmission is a C4. I have been told they are not costly to rebuild. I have driven the van on the freeway and roads prior to the transmission going out. Like I said, the engine starts right up, it feels strong, has good power and cruised down the freeway. There are no signs of any motor leaks. The brakes should be bled and it pulled to the left a little. All the lights, turns signals, horn etc.. all work. The only thing not working is the gas gauge. It also has a newer set of three inline gauges.

Exterior/interior etc.. Exterior is in pretty good shape considering its age. There is a dent on the left side just above the side pipe. There are two dents on the back behind the bumper. Other than that, the body is straight, not rusted and looks good. It was originally a baby blue, but since then it has -at home- paint job. All the doors open and lock and the keys fit all the doors. The windows roll down and there is a pop up window in the roof that also works. The grill and the front bumper are straight and the chrome shines on the front. The back bumper, overall is straight but not perfect. It has very cool side pipes that have shiny chrome and sound awesome! Interior- Seats look good and boating material was used, so it feels really strong. There are probably a couple knicks here and there but nothing big on the two front seats and the engine cover. The bench seat in the back looks real good and there is no damage that I saw.

Overall/additional info- You get two sets of tires and rims. The ones on it now have nice tires all around and they rims look pretty cool. You also get a set of original S Cal 500 rims, 5 of them. There are Mickey Thompson street tires on the rear. They look to be in good condition, although I looked closer and you can see some small checking/cracking inside the tread. The front tires look almost brand new and are a skinnier smaller tire. There are also air shocks on the back. Overall this van is straight, not rusted, starts right up, runs great, sounds great has upgrades, side pipes, original side windows, two sets of rims, old school rims, clear title and only needs the transmission repaired to be a daily driver.

MyFord Touch getting buttons and knobs back to counter criticisms
Mon, 17 Jun 2013Ford deserves credit for being a front-runner in offering advanced infotainment technology with its Sync and MyFord Touch systems, but continued consumer complaints over its confusing touchscreen interface and capacitive controls has made the automaker relent. The Wall Street Journal reports that physical buttons and knobs for controlling tuning and volume will be coming back to Ford vehicles equipped with the controversial infotainment system.
The 2013 F-150 with MyFord Touch gives us a glimpse of what the new layout with buttons and knobs might look like, as Ford says a similar balance of touch screen capability and buttons/knobs are what's being planned for future models. And, while capacitive controls have no fans in the halls of Autoblog, many of Ford's models with MyFord Touch do have a large physical knob for adjusting volume with integrated buttons for tuning and advancing tracks, though most of those are models with the optional upgraded Sony Audio system. Lincoln models with MyLincoln Touch, however, feature only capacitive controls for all stereo and climate functions.
Despite receiving enough complaints to throw buttons and knobs back into the mix (a move that reminds us of BMW's iDrive trajectory, among others), Ford reports that Sync and MyFord Touch have still been sold on 79 percent of its 2013 model year vehicles, a number it claims is double the rate that Honda and Toyota are getting for their infotainment systems. Ford also states that owners who do opt for the duo of technologies are more satisfied with overall vehicle quality than those who don't have it.
Entry-level F-150 now offers SuperCrew, Sport Package
Thu, 29 Aug 2013Ford has made a few notable tweaks to the lower end of its F-150 lineup, giving customers a more affordable version of the four-door SuperCrew body style. The popular SuperCrew could previously only be had on XLT models and above, but Ford has announced that 2014 F-150s with the base STX trim can get the more versatile body.
The STX SuperCrew brings the price of a four-door F-150 down from $34,525 to $33,145. Like the XLT SuperCrew, the STX will be available with the choice of a 5.5- or 6.5-foot bed, while a 5.0-liter V8 can replace the base 3.7-liter V6 for $4,425. Ford has not released pricing on the different bed lengths yet, but opting for the 6.5-foot bed on the XLT raises the price $1,240 and forces buyers into the 5.0-liter V8. We'd expect a similar arrangement on the STX.
The other big news for fans of affordable pickups is the addition of an STX Sport Package on the base-level truck. It adds 20-inch wheels, black exterior accents, black-and-gray cloth seats and decals on the truck's box. The Sport Package is available on all three of the STX's body styles, with Ford listing the price as $980 with current discounts.
The USPS needs 180,000 new delivery vehicles, automakers gearing up to bid
Wed, Feb 18 2015Winning the New York City Taxi of Tomorrow tender was a huge prize for Nissan, even though the company is still working through the process of claiming its prize. The United States Postal Service has begun the process to take bids for a new delivery vehicle to replace the all-too-familiar Grumman Long Life Vehicle, and that will be a much larger plum for the automaker who wins it, perhaps worth more than six billion dollars. The Grumman LLV is an aluminum body covering a Chevrolet S-10 pickup chassis and General Motors' Iron Duke four-cylinder engine. The USPS bought them from 1987 to 1994, and the 163,000 of them still in service are a monumental drain on postal resources: they get roughly ten miles to the gallon instead of the quoted 16 mpg, drink up more than $530 million in fuel each year, and their constant repair needs like the balky sliding door and leaky windshields have led the service to increase the annual maintenance budget from $100 million to $500 million. A seat belt is about as modern as it gets for safety technology, and the USPS says that assuming things stay the same, it can't afford to run them beyond 2017. Last year it put out two triage requests for proposals seeking 10,000 new chassis and drivetrains for the Grumman and 10,000 new vehicles. The LLV is also too small for the modern mail system in which package delivery is growing and letter delivery is declining. The service says it doesn't have a fixed idea of the ideal "next-generation delivery vehicles," but it listed a number of requirements in its initial request and is open to any proposal. Carriers have some suggestions, though, saying they want better cupholders, sun visors that they can stuff letters behind, a driver's compartment free of slits that can swallow mail, and a backup camera. The request for information sent to automakers pegs the tender at 180,000 vehicles that would cost between $25,000 and $35,000 apiece, and it will hold a conference on February 18 to answer questions about the contract. GM is the only domestic maker to avow an interest, while Ford and Fiat-Chrysler have remained cagey. Yet with a possible $6.3 billion up for grabs and some new vans for sale that would be advertised on every block in the country, we have a feeling everyone will be listening closely come February 18. We also have a feeling the LeMons series is going to be flooded with Grummans come 2017. News Source: Wall Street Journal, Automotive News - sub.
