OUTSTANDING CONDITION - NO DISAPPOINTMENTS

Up for sale is a fantastic 2004 Ford Crown Victoria P-71 Street Appearance Package.  I am the third owner of this vehicle. The car was a fire chiefs vehicle.  The second owner bought it at the town auction and the car had ~67,000 miles.  The second owner had it until 99,935 miles and I purchased it then.  It now has 108,460 miles and is in great shape.

It has dual exhaust with magnaflow mufflers.  It also has an aftermarket radio in excellent working condition.  The car has the original engine and transmission and is mechanically sound.  The great thing is that this car was not a pursuit vehicle - it was the chiefs car so it has not been beat on or abused.  Air conditioner is ice cold!

This car is quiet and responsive and a great performing car.  It is fast and will push you back in your seat when you hit the gas.  Detroit muscle - the real deal!

This car is amazing - I am a car guy and if you want performance at an affordable price look no further.  You can drive this car cross country right now.  I was so impressed with this car that I did have it repainted after I bought it - car has not been in any accidents and no rust, rot or damage.  Mechanically, no issues.  Just performance, reliability and no stories!  It is turn key - ready for your enjoyment.

Please review all of the pictures - you will see a quality paint job, a well kept car and a nice investment.  If you are a police car fan or car enthusiast - look no further - this is it!

There is no evidence of any accidents / no excessive wear and tare or stories.

This car is presently registered and insured.  It is used as my fun car - so mileage will increase.  It is well maintained and cared for.

This is a great car at an inexpensive price.  There are no warranties expressed or implied.  Vehicle is "sold as is" and "where is".  If you are looking for a reliable performance vehicle car at a low price point - you won't be disappointed.  I am confident in this car!

I do reserve the right to end this listing at anytime as the car is for sale locally.

Please feel free to ask questions.  if you want to come inspect the car - please let me know so we can arrange a time that works best for all of us.

Payment in full is expected within 7 days once buyer commits to the purchase. Preferably, in person in cash when the car is picked up.  I do NOT accept PAYPAL for this transaction.

If you send a certified check - all funds must clear before I release the car, title and keys.  No exceptions.  Please plan this when coordinating pickup.

Car, title and keys will remain with me until all funds clear.

If there is a problem with processing the check etc.  you forfeit the sale and I retain ownership of the car.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns and thanks for looking!

EPA says fuel economy test for hybrids is accurate

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

The EPA says it stands behind its fuel economy test for hybrid vehicles following controversy about the testing process after Ford C-Max Hybrid customers and automotive journalists alike struggled to achieve 47 miles per gallon, the advertised mpg number, Automotive News reports. Ford responded to the issue almost two weeks ago by claiming that a 1970s-era EPA general label rule was responsible for the inaccurate mileage numbers, rerating the C-Max Hybrid's mpg numbers and offering customers rebates. Ford later said it didn't overstate the C-Max Hybrid's fuel economy and that it was surprised by the low numbers.
Ford technically didn't do anything wrong because it was following the general label rule, but agency regulator Christopher Grundler says the automaker was exploiting a loophole when it came up with the hybrid C-Max numbers, and that the testing process remains accurate. The general label rule allows vehicles that use the same engine and transmission and are in the same weight class to share fuel economy numbers, but it doesn't take into account other factors such as aerodynamic efficiency, which affects hybrids more drastically than non-hybrid vehicles. Ford originally used the Fusion Hybrid economy figures for the C-Max Hybrid and claimed the engineers didn't realize that its aerodynamic efficiency would affect fuel economy as much as it did.

Ford recalling nearly 700k Escape CUVs, C-Max hybrids over two separate safety issues

Fri, 09 May 2014

Poor Escape. Ever since its launch in 2012, Ford's small CUV has been the subject of many, many, many recalls. And today, The Detroit News is reporting that Ford is adding two more recalls to the 2013-14 model year Escape's permanent record, one of them also involves the C-Max hybrid hatchback.
The first recall, covering 692,500 Escape and C-Max vehicles, is due to a software glitch that could cause the airbags - specifically, the safety canopy - to not deploy in a timely fashion during rollover crashes. According to the News, Ford says no crashes or injuries have been reported in relation to this problem.
The second recall, covering 692,700 Escapes, is related to the door handles. The News reports that the exterior door handles could open while the vehicle is in motion, and could also fail to latch properly. Once again, no crashes or injuries have occurred because of this. The National Highway Safety Traffic Administration has not issued an official notice on either recall as of this writing.

Ford Focus refresh shots leak ahead of Geneva

Sun, 23 Feb 2014

In case you haven't been paying attention, Ford has been gradually redesigning its lineup to sport a familiar face. The Aston Martin-inspired grille shape debuted on the Fusion and was soon applied to the Fiesta. Even the front end of the new Mustang takes its cues from the same, and we're sure other models will soon be made-over to fall in line. The next on the docket? The Focus.
Set to be unveiled in little over a week at the Geneva Motor Show, the revised Focus has leaked out a tad early, revealing a mild facelift that bears that same trapezoidal grille with horizontal slats. Along with the new grille, the headlights, lower fascia and hood appear to have been reshaped. Around back there appears to be a new rear bumper and taillights, but otherwise the shape remains largely the same as the current model.
Expect the updates to be applied to all bodystyles offered around the world, including the hatchback, wagon and sedan. The engine lineup is expected to carry over largely unchanged, though the plug-in hybrid powertrain from the C-Max Energi could port over to the revised Focus. Plus Ford seems to have taken the opportunity to spruce things up in the cabin some. Check it out in the image gallery above and watch this space for the official announcement as we pack our bags for Switzerland.
